Chapter 17: Thinking too much can kill your brain cells, you know?

He leaned closer and closer and closer. Should I kiss him? Oh man, I was so freaking confused. In the moment when I thought our lips would meet, something happened.

I was pushed from the left side of me focefully. I was ready to meet the floor, but Arden caught me in time. What the freaking Superman happened? Who was that son of Satan that pushed me? Wait until I get you-

I stopped my thoughts when I saw Cameron laughing his butt off. What was he doing here? I looked around us and no one else was paying attention to us. So that meant only one thing. Cameron was the one who pushed me. I was about to yell at him when he spoke. "I never thought you would actually dress like Cinderella. At least now you suit to your name." he laughed again. I felt Arden stiffen and squeezed his hand. Then I glared at Cameron. He was still laughing and I have to admit that I was tempted to laugh with him. His laughter was contagious but I resisted the urge to laugh.

"I'm going to the restroom. Try not to kill each other." I gave both of them a death glare and walked away. The restrooms were far away from the gym and I had to walk at least five minutes to reach them. When I entered inside, I closed the door and went to the sink to wash my hands.

Was I really going to kiss Arden knowing that I didn't like him? Oh god, I was going to make a big mistake. Okay, I was attracted to Arden physically, I mean the guy is hot, but I had no feelings for him. While he had. And he was the only one who ws going to get his heart broken. From one side, I thanked Cameron for stopping me from commiting possibly the worst mistake of my life.

"Thinking too much can kill your brain cells, you know?" Cameron's voiced boomed, startling me. Where did he come from?

"I have enough cells, don't worry." I retorted. What did he want now? I didn't have the nerves to deal with him. I was so well with Arden and he had to come and ruin it. Okay, the fact that he stopped my kiss with Arden was good, but that didn't mean he could ruin the entire night.

"Cinderella." he said, walking towards me. He wasn't dressed in a costume, but casually, like he dresses every day. Today he was wearing blue and torn jeans, that hung low on his waist and a black t-shirt. I must admit that he looked hot. Well, he looked hot all the time. He approached more until my back was pressed on his chest. What the freaking Spiderman was he trying to do?

"Cameron..." I warned, but it came more as a moan, since he put his hands on my waist, sending bolts of electricity in the skin there. My whole body was on fire from his touch. I hated that he had that effect on me. I felt his breath on my neck as he kissed it gently. I had to stop this, but I couldn't. I wanted it, scratch that, I needed it.

No, no, I have to stop this.

I'm on a date with Arden. I can't do this to him. "Stop." I breathed. He didn't stop but continued his attack on my neck. I tried to move my hands, but he had them. "Please stop, I can't do this." I said more firmly.

He seemed to have listened me because he stopped. When he looked my face on the mirror, his softened. He took off his hands from my waist and backed away. "I-I'm sorry." he stuttered and looked at me like I was a ghost. Then he stormed out of the restroom. That was weird.

Shaking my head, I got out of the restroom as well and walked towards the gym again. The last twenty minutes were eventful to say the least. I almost kissed Arden and Cameron. When I reached the hall, I searched for Jennifer. I found her talking with her boyfriend. I grabbed her hand and dragged her away from Blake, muttering him a quick apology. "McKanzie, where are we going?" Jennifer asked confused. I stopped at a corner of the gym.

"I need your help." I breathed. She looked at me confused. "Arden or Cameron?" I asked.

"I can't respond to it." She repiled. Oh right, Arden was her brother and Cameron was her ex-boyfriend.

"Sorry." I apologized.

The look on my face must've changed her mind because she spoke. "Look McKanzie, Arden is my brother and I know him at the palm of my hand. I would be very happy if you chose him, but at the same time I know how Arden is. Since we came here, he started changing girls once a week. With other words, he is a player. I know that he has strong feelings for you, but I'm not sure if he will stay loyal to you." she said honestly.

"And Cameron?"

"He is no better. He had been my boyfriend for four months and he...well you know, cheated on me. And we are not sure that he won't do it again with you. So I don't know what to say. It's your choice." she finished and I nodded. This was going to be harder than I thought. But I know that Arden has feelings for me, but for Cameron, I know nothing. I don't know if he likes me or not. "Did something happen?" she asked.

"Well, I almost kissed Arden, but Cameron pushed me and so I didn't. Then I went to the restrooms. Apparently Cameron followed me and he begand kissing my neck and he..." I rambled.

"Oh, shoot." she swore and I shot her a glare. "I never thought it was this complicated." she sighed. Well, at least I had someone that understands my situation.

"That's me." I said sarcastically and saw Arden come towards us.

"What are you girls whispering about?" he asked, throwing an arm around my shoulder.

"Girls business." Jennifer stated and walked away, leaving me an Arden alone. The awkwardness began.

"You took very long. I was getting lonely there." Arden complained playfully.

"A girl's gotta have her time." I winked. It wasn't as awkward as I thought. "Come on, the party isn't over yet." I said and dragged him to the dance floor. A song by Avicii was on and we started to dance. I saw Addison dancing with Mason and Jennifer with Blake, but I didn't saw Cameron anywhere. Where could he be? What if he had one of his crisis? What if he was crying? What if he was having a panic attack and no one was there to help him?

"Kizzy Bear, what's wrong?" Arden asked, snapping me out of my thoughts. What do I tell him?

"Umm... nothing. I was just thinking." I quickly replied. I couldn't tell him that I was worried about Cameron. We were supposed to be on a date and there I was, thinking about another guy.

"You seem worried about something." he stated. Holy mother of Batman! How couild he see it?

"Well, you caught me. I'm worried about..." I thought. "Jason!" I said a little too loud, happy that I found an excuse. "Since he is little and Cason is probably distracted by girls. I'm worried that he will leave Jason alone and then Jason will be scared and..." I stopped rambling. Hopefully, Arden wouldn't understand that I was lying.

"Oh." Arden said in realization. "Well, Jason is over there with him." His voice turned cold at the word 'him'. I looked to where Arden was pointing and indeed, Jason was there...with Cameron. I was relieved for them both. But I was surprised to see Cameron laughing and Jason giggling. I never knew that Cameron was good with little kids.

"I was right when I said that Cason would leave him alone." I pointed out as Arden looked at me intently. "Arden, thank you for this night." I blurted out.

"No, than you for agreeing to come with me. I know that you hate Halloween, but you still came." he smiled. I surprised him by kissing his cheek and giving a hug.

"Anything for my ex-nerd." I laughed. A quiet song stareted playing and e danced again. I guess it wasn't a bad idea coming to the dance, after all. But I had to make a decision and fast.

The boys weren't kidding when they said they were going to stay only for the weekend and man, did the weekend go by fast. It was Sunday afternoon and we were at the airport. Mason, Cason and Jason were leaving New York to go back in California. I was going to miss them, but they promised to come back on Christmas break.

The trio, me, Arden, Cameron (who surprised me by coming), Jennifer, Clara and Connor were in the airport, waiting for the plane to board. "I'm going to miss you." Jason cried, hugging me.

I hugged him back and kissed his cheek. "I'll miss you too buddy. But you will come again for Christmas." I cheered, making him smile. He was so adorable. Then he went to Cameron.

"Hey little man, you're going to miss me too, right?" Cameron made a puppy voice, making me smile. He kneeled down to Jason's height and shook his hand. "Yes, you are my new best firend." Jason cried again.

"You like him, don't you?" Mason startled me. I jerked my head to his direction, seeing his evil smirk taking place on his lips. He always did that evil smirk when he caught me red handed. Not this time.

"Pshk, tshk, pshk! Me like him?" I pretended to be innocent.

"I know you McKanzie amd I know you like him. So here is an advice for you. Don't let him go." he whispered in my ear. "I'll miss you." he said normally and pulled me in a hug.

Then Cason came to me. "Don't tell me that I like him." I said in a low voice, pointing at Cameron. Cason gave me an are-you-crazy look and then chuckled.

"Well, I was about to say it, but I'm team Arden." he winked and pulled me in a bear hug. Lord help me!

"Flight 675 in California is now boarding." the speaker announced.

"Time to go." Mason said and waved at us. The boys left and I was more confused than ever. Curse you Mason and Cason! Now I have Mason, Clara, Matt and Oliver team Cameron and Addison, Cason and surprisingly Connor team Arden. What was I supposed to do?

"McKanzie, are you coming or not?" Clara asked me. I nodded and walked towards them as we made our way out of the airport. Cameron stayed behind and talked to me.

"Will you come with me somewhere, Cinderella?" he asked as I looked at him suspicially. Go with him where? I was about to ask him that, but he beat me to it. "Surprise." he smirked and I groaned. Great!

"I hate surprises." I said as a matter-of-fact.

"You're gonna love this. Please!" he made a puppy face. Ughhh. Why can't I say no?

"Fine." I grumbled. His face lit up and then he gave me a real smile, like a kid getting his birthday present.

"Cinderella?"

"Huh?"

"We have to go now." he said. I followed him to the direction of his bike. It had been a while since I've been on this thing. He wanted to climb on first, but I stopped him.

"Noo!" I waved my index finger to prove my point. "I'm riding it." I smirked. He looked at me like I was going to kill him.

"Not my baby." he complained. "Plus, you don't know where are we going." he added, smiriking triumphally.

"Nope, we're going home first, then to your mysterious place." I said firmly. He groaned and nodded. "Yes!" I threw my fist on the air and did a happy dance just to piss him off. Cameron chuckled and muttered 'crazy' under his breath. Then he gave me his keys and a helmet. I grinned and put the helmet over my head. I hopped on the bike and waited for him to do the same thing.  As he climbed I felt his arms wrap around my torso. My body exploded on fire by his touch. Holy sweet strawberries!

The ride home was a bit awkwards, but I enjoyed it. I love riding a motorcycle, because I felt free and like I owned the world. When we arrived there, Cameron was the first to hop off the bike. I followed him. "Thanks." I said. "for letting me riding your bike." I added and he smiled.

"No worries." he shrugged. It seemed like we were the first to arrive home since the others were no where to be seen. "Now, can we go? This time, we are taking your car." he winked as I tossed him his keys and my car keys.

"Fine." I said and walked towards my car. I entered inside. Cameron climbed on the driver's seat and started the car.

Mysterious place, here I come.
