Nathan's POV

I nudged Lee in the arm as I pointed my finger to the girl who was moving a box up the stairs to her house. I turned to him and gave him a confused look, "Who is that?"

Lee shrugged as he threw a pebble onto the street watching it skid, "I think she's new. Ma said there was a new family moving in."

Turning my attention back to the girl across the street, she has long hair that she wore in a blue floral bow. She had on a yellow shirt with bunnies on them and some denim overalls.

She's pretty. I thought to myself.

"Should we go over there and talk to her?" I nodded to myself as I dragged Lee up who refused for a second.

"You think she's pretty don't ya?" Lee sent me a evil smile showing one of his missing front teeth.

I rolled my eyes as we walked over the street, she was tiny but she looked about the same age as us, probably 8 or 9. She was holding a tiny box that was marked 'Bedding'.

I cleared my throat as I saw her round eyes widen and she looked away.

I reached my hand out, "Hi I'm Nathan. This is Lee."

Lee gave a short wave as he sat back down onto the porch. She set the box down next to her as she wiped her hands onto her overalls.

Her face was slightly red as she smiled back, "Nice to meet you.. I'm Leilani. We just moved in."

Leilani. I never heard that name before, it sounded cute.

Leilani's POV

"Nathan get your ass down here right now!" I was tapping my feet impatiently as my arms were crossed. The scowl on my face kept getting bigger and bigger.

Hearing footsteps scuffle down the steps rapidly as I heard a groan. "What do you want now!"

He had on a black t shirt and some basketball shorts from his basketball team. His eyes were droopy as he let a shaky yawn out of his mouth.

"Why the hell weren't you at school again! You know Mr. Weiss keeps nagging me about it! And I'm not even in your school!" I smacked his arm as he yelped out a 'ow'.

He rolled his hazel eyes as he said, "Calm down Lei. If you care so bad why don't you do the work for me!"

I threw my bag at him as I smacked the back of his head multiple times, "Shut up! Are you out of your mind! It's freaking annoying!"

"I'm hungry Lei. Let's go get something to eat." Completely ignoring me he grabbed my hand as he grabbed a hoodie and some money.

I stared down at his hand and looked up at him. My face started to blush as I tried to pull away. He grabbed my hand tighter, looking down at me he gave me a goofy grin. Despite us being only a year apart in age, Nathan was always taller. He's standing a good 5'8 right now and he's only 14. I'm only 5 foot right now, I still have time to grow though!

"I'll go tomorrow okay Lei!" I nodded as I gave him a small smile, if he kept cutting class he wouldn't be able to go to the next grade.

"Stop worrying okay! I said I'll go. I promise." He kissed my hand as I looked away and muttered a 'okay'. With my cheeks tinted pink.

Nathan's POV

This was Lei's first year in high school and she was holding hands with a sophomore. I felt my blood boiling as I tried to hold back from punching him. Leilani is mine. I was always too scared to bring it up to her, afraid of ruining the relationship we have.

Her shiny grey eyes spotted mine as a big grin appeared on her face, her boyfriend wasn't too excited though. I grinned at her shooting her a wink, her cheeks started to rise up and flush.

Her boyfriend tried to pull her in for a kiss as she pulled away. She shot him a apologetic look as she walked towards me, I saw him shove her to the cement ground as I immediately ran over.

"What the fuck are you doing!" I grabbed his shirt by the collar as I barked at him.

He smirked as he goes, "Is there a problem? As I recall that's my girlfriend."

I saw Leilani pat her dress as she got up from the floor and she came next to me. She looked angry.

She kicked him in the balls as she spat at him, "You're fucking disgusting! Just because I didn't want to kiss you? What a big baby."

My mouth started to curve upwards as I was going to say some witty remark, Leilani grabbed my hand and led us out of the school zone. I saw tears fly out of her eyes as she turned to me and let out a weak smile.

I brought us to a halt as I grabbed her face and kissed her on the lips as passionately as I could, feeling her freeze for a second before her hands met mine and she kissed me back.

She muttered an 'ow' as I looked down, her knees were scraped with blood. She shot me a cheeky smile as I picked her up and carried her home.

"Baby are you serious! We're going to be parents?!" I felt my face heat up from excitement as I grabbed her hands for a confirmation. She nods as she shot me a warm smile.

"I'm scared Nathan! Do you think we'll be good parents?" She bit her lips nervously as I felt her voice start to shake. I pulled her into a embrace as I nodded, her arms wrapped around me tightly.

She only just turned 18 and I just started college, so I understand her worries. I will take of our child. Everyone in our family was supportive too, that took stress off our backs.

"Look we probably won't be the very best! But we will try to come close. I can't believe it! I can't wait to see our child." My eyes started to water as I sniffed, I can't let her see me getting emotional.

She giggled as she pulled away, hearing a smirk on her voice, "Is my little Nathan crying?"

I rolled my eyes as I kissed her softly, I moved to her growing stomach and kissed it whispering, "Your mommy and daddy loves you very much."

6 Months Later

The doctor was trying to calm Leilani down as she looked like she was going to pass out in exhaustion and frustration. Her hands were gripping the soul out of me as I didn't mind. She was bringing our angel into this world, a hard grip on the arms wasn't  going to compare to that.

"Okay Leilani.. push on 1..2..3.." The doctor told her to push on 3 as I saw Leilani sweat profusely. My heart hurt for her because I know this was exhausting.

She let out a big groan, "I swear, baby, if you hear me! You better come out on the next push because I'm so done with you!!!"

She screamed in pain as pushed again on the doctor's count, I saw the baby's shoulders as my heart started to pound.

Holy fuck, childbirth is scary. My princess is so brave.

She pushed again with another groan of agony as she slumped back down in relief, her grip on me loosened as I kissed her sweaty forehead.

I heard the baby start to cry as the doctor smiled, "Congratulations it's a girl! What's her name going to be?"

Doctor handed us our little girl as I saw Leilani examine her and sigh in relief. My heart beat so fast when I saw her, her eyes started to blink open as they were so light and translucent.

I felt tears trickle into my mouth as I said, "Her name is going to be Makayla."

"I love you Nathan. The happiest moment of my life was when you came over to talk to me. I will always love you." She whispered as I brought her hand to my mouth and kissed it.

Tears dropped onto her skin as I shook my head, my eyes were blurring with tears. I felt my breath getting taken away from me, I could barely make out my words.

"I love you Leilani.. I love you so much. I'm so glad we got to spend so much time together.. creating our beautiful children.. I love you." I kissed her on the lips as she weakly kissed me back. She smiled at me as her beautiful eyes started to droop.

I cried in pain as I saw my wife leave her body slowly, her eyes rolled more and more towards the back of her head. My breath was shaky as I was holding Maika's hand in one and the other on Leilani's hand.

Her grip was loosening on me as finally, her hand was lifeless as the machine went flat.

The room was only filled with me begging to give back the love of my life and my cries. I felt myself get weak as I took a deep breath, my eyes still letting tears drop. Maika looked at her mother and at me as she smiled, she looked exactly like her mother. Long beautiful hair and grey eyes, her smile warmed me up like Leilani's once did.

"Your mommy loved you very much okay baby?" She grins happily as she nods. I kissed her forehead as I took one last look at my wife.

The woman I grew up with, the woman I'll love until the day I die.
