Finally! I have completed articuno1000drawing request of my namesake bird, the Resplendent Quetzal of Central American rainforests. took a long time for two reasons: I was busy with schoolwork and other activities, and I went overboard with the background details. To be honest, this drawing was meant to be only of a quetzal perching on a branch, but I decided that I wouldn't leave the quetzal in a white void...And you can see what happened. I added a host of jungle plants and four photobombing birds to make the artwork realistic and to provide a home for the quetzal. i have named the quetzal Chiquito and the toucan Ramirez. However if you dont like these names feel free to change them. To make this drawing, first I did an uncoloured version with a 4B pencil without some details and traced it onto another piece of paper, which was a lot of hard work. Then I coloured in the background using Faber-Castell Classic Colour pencils and Chiquito with Faber-Castell Watercolour pencils. I have done many sketches of my namesake birds before, but not a refined drawing, and I think this is one of my best drawings so far.
