What I've Been Working On Over The Month Of July:
I'm subscribed to the doll customizer! Her channel Is Dollightful! When I found out she was starting a doll collaboration with people like fans I wanted to be in it so badly! So I made a diy customized doll! I'll give you the rundown on everything I did! I shared a lot of things on amino so that's the reason for the bottom addition.
I bought this frankie monster high doll at a garage sale. Her hair was gooey, her legs were flimsy, and was in dire need of a makeover! So after convincing my parent why I needed it I bought it with just a looney! With the ball joints she's got the money was sooo spent well!
That day forward I collected some nail polish remover and wiped off the factory paint. When removing the factory paint on her body however the acetone melted some of her body. So to fix that I asked my dad for some sand paper and smoothed down the flaws! I also removed her bolts in her neck.
The next step for me was the head. I made a wig out of very thin fabric that had a fishnets look, plastic wrap, and mod podge.
Oh and the ears? I made that myself. I wanted to base the doll off of a fish! So I gave her those to replace the ears!
Then I painted them and the scalp blue.
So at the wig stage I had a problem with the doll hair mom bought for me at a dollar tree. The hair was too curly and when I tried to straighten it they were hard to stick to the wig. So I moved aside to working on the clothes! I had a few designs in mind and as we were shopping at a fabric store the idea changed a lot! The second design doesn't even match the dress!
The designs.
The pattern.
The materials.
The plain dress.
Eventually I used hot glue to add finishing touched. We also added a belt!
I take very little credit to the dress. The real credit goes to my mom for sewing the dress! Thanks mom! By the way...
Palsher is her account! Go follow!
The shoes were made from dry clay and I got glued the fabric on to make the straps.
I then painted it a gradient of orange!
Next was the face! It wasn't easy, but I've done customizing before!
I flossed the face up after the photo shoot.
Finally was the hair. Eventually I gave up on the hair and used yarn. Mom and I went to a craft store and it was like dreadlocks!
Once her hair was done I styled, added jewelry, and added final touches like fish tattoos and painted nails! Finally she was done!
Meet Tiana!
You might be thinking. Did she make it into the collaboration? Yes!
The time stamp is 10:10!
Apparently that's all I can show now because I've reached the picture limit! but if you want to see more of her I'll do that in the next page!
I hope you like her! It was my first customization on a whole doll! I'm proud of her!
Bye bye!!
