Like last time, listen to the song, you do that and everything will add up. This is a Lego Movie 2 connection, there will be spoilers!

I had heard this song in my dad's truck because he has a lot of songs recorded. It's fun to listen to songs I haven't heard in forever, that's how I came up with the other movie/song connection!

So I was listening to this and the chorus part "the biggest mistake" made me think of Lucy not coming back for Emmet, making him Rex, which was a mistake. Now, let's get started!

Emmet didn't necessarily want to be tough, later on no one wanted him to turn into Rex.

Neither Emmet or Lucy knew Emmet would turn into Rex

Emmet changed into Rex because no one ever came for him.

At the end of the movie, Rex fades away realizing that Emmet will never become him and let's this go

~Yeah I guess you made the biggest mistake~
Like I said, no one ever realized Emmet/Rex was gone, making Emmet turn into Rex

~Sorry I couldn't be what you were looking for~
Lucy wanted Emmet to toughen up and change with the times

~Things ain't working out but it's better this way~

So there it is! Another Movie/Song connection. I know the year the song came out and the year the movie came out don't match but I love making these analogies!

I really want to do an animation to this sometime, I think it's be awesome!!
