Art book of 2021
I started a new sketchbook and I never felt such joy before. I set 3 rules for myself
1. I will finish every page in the sketchbook till at least January 1st of 2022 and no blank pages are allowed
2. No blank spaces are allowed. Try to fill it with some doodle or tip of some kind
3. Once I start a drawing , I have to finish it. No more unfinished works in progresses.
That leads to what I dedicated myself to. I found a boost of motivation thanks to binging a anime I watched when I was little ( Yu Yu Hakusho ) and seeing all the flavor it had to offer. It was then I decided to really make a name for myself. I'm gonna actually start committing to manga competitions ( my moms helping me with that ) to get my name out there , start selling some art pieces ( preferably to businessmen of a manga company ) and most of all : improve my art.
You ever try something and get past the basics and your so good at it that you forget the basics ? Yeaaaah...it was like that when I took a moment to not focus on my repetitive style and actually go back to the basics of body anatomy & face views. I also finally learned how to draw male eyes !
Anywho , took a few trips down memory lane and visited my old teachers ( Markcrilley & Mikey Mega Mega ). Here's the results !
( Trash_Opposum and NaaallyDaKweeen_ are in this one <3 )
These are the pens I've used. There's a transparent one but that's because it's a gel pen. I got the watercolor one off the ground at school and one of my friends gave me the other markers.
I REALLY struggled with this one , especially with trying to make the faces equal length and the shoulders relaxed. I think I did good with making the details like the eyes and hair work per angle.
I also forgot to mention this is gonna be in the form of a how to draw book ! <3
LOVE. THE. FUCKING. HAIR ! I LOVE IT ! I WORKED HARD TO PERFECT HAIR AND I DID IT!!! WOO !
It's Hannah from my book Spirit Girl btw
...we don't talk about my failure of a building...this is why we don't attempt something new...
Moving on :')
Work in progress but I finally figured out how to do male eyes and hair of different kinds ! Definitely a step up from just anime waifus to full on manga concepts !
I'm no where near done filling out the pages but I'm very much excited to test my art skills to the limits. I'm barley good enough to be called a manga professional but with a little more practice and dedication , I can be as good as Yu Yu Hakusho and Mermaid Melody manga !
I'm also gonna do the October art challenge and other art challenges when I get art block. I might do requests too <3
