*Just so you know, if you read this book you may get spoiled for Starwalker and Seraphite in my synopses of my art pieces. So be warned.

As I think my readers will agree, Shadow Weaver's arc was a hot mess in Season 5, but I think I know how to fix it. I think. In Seraphite, her sacrifice to save Catra and Adora was partially motivated out of self-loathing and the desire to end her own life so she couldn't hurt anyone else (something that nods back at insecurity that was established in S1-2 of the show).

She has this attitude for the first half of Seraphite, and at one point, she gets....very close. But at this point Micah and Nell* have found her, and Nell nurses her back to health against her wishes (because he's a stubborn sorcerer doctor). That's when she finally musters a small smile.

Bonus: the airbrush barf before I erased it, because it makes the picture look sultrier than I intended and I find that hilarious.

*Nell is going to be in Starwalker and Seraphite as a major character, so keep that on your docket. 😌💕
