Plot: (contains heavy spoilers for "What I Had To Do") Cinderspeckle's best friend, Dawnsky, is suicidal after having her reputation among the clan ruined. At the arrival of a prophecy foretelling that Cinderspeckle and Dawnsky  will destroy and save the clan (one will destroy it, the other will save it), Cinderspeckle hatches a plan. If Dawnsky saves the clan, she will be adored and love herself again. Cinderspeckle had no desire to destroy her clan, but she cares about Dawnsky too much to let her suffer any longer. Cinderspeckle kills off deputies one by one, her guilt growing greater and greater. Eventually her old mentor, Iceshard, becomes deputy. She lures him into the woods, where he finds out she is the deputy killer. She tries to explain herself, and apologizes as she kills him.
