~Human Tutorial (Girl Version)~

stuffshadow asked for this so here ya go!

How I draw humans!

Or at least the basics lol.

I'll do my best to explain but it's a little difficult.

So I always start with a circle. When I draw the circle I make sure I have a sort of idea of what pose I want to draw so I can try to leave space around it for the rest of the pose. Since I'm just drawing a simple standing front view, I made sure to leave space for the arms around the body, and space under the head for the rest of the body.

Next I figure out the headshape. This is changed by the angle of the pose, but again, front view. I went with a rounder face here, then drew in the guidelines for the face.

Then I add the neck, torso, and the joints for the shoulders. The shoulders should be a bit wider than the head. Depending on what position the arms are in, the joints of the shoulder will be at different angles. Since the arms in this drawing will be at her sides, the joints are positioned downwards. I don't know how to explain how long you want the neck to be lol. Some of my characters have longer necks as a part of their appearance so.

I add the hips. This is just a round shape so that when added to the torso it makes more of an hourglass shape. Keep in mind that the length and width of both the torso and the hips can be changed around to make different bodyshapes.

I add the upper arms and the joints for the elbow. Remember that your arms don't naturally go straight down, they actually go out slightly before going back in.

Started sketching in the arms. I decided I'd rather do a different pose than just having them straight at her sides. Then I drew in the leg joints.

Drew in the other arm pose, sketched out the hand, and added the upper legs and knee joints. The upper legs are shorter than the lower legs, so keep that in mind.

Drew in the lower legs and the feet. I usually just draw the feet as triangles until I add more details. This gives you a good way to figure out how the feet look in different poses without having to redraw them a whole bunch of times.

Filled in the base lines for the body. This character is a little plumper, so I made sure to keep that in mind while doing so.

Decided I hated the leg on the left so I changed it

Started on the hand. With hands I always start by sketching out where the palm will be.

Finished the hand and started on the face. I always start with the top of the eyes first since it can help decide the whole shape of the face and the mood. I made her eyes a little bit down turned. I thought it gave her the vibe I was looking for.

Finished the face. I gave her a round nose and big eyes.

Hairline!

Add hair, clothes, shoes, etcs. I also changed the mouth cause I didn't love the first one I was drawing.

A few last details and boom! You're done!

Hope this is helpful!

If y'all wanna see a guy version of this tutorial then just say so and I'll do one!

Have a good day/afternoon/night!

Stay safe!
