(Y/n) POV
"Jesus kid calm down!!"
Hawks yelled as I dragged him out of the dome and outside now to scowl at him.
"Did you really need to do that on my first day here?"
I questioned now crossing my arms and watching him run the back of his neck sheepishly.
"What? You need a damn social life."
"Again says the man who's the third place hero but only ever talks to me or his agents."
"It's for business!"
He protested now crossing his arms in a pout, we both flew up and began heading over to the house since I figured the girls would be there later on.
Then I watched Hawks take out his ringing phone, and that meant some sort of weird crisis that I would be dragged along for.
"Uh-Huh."
"Yea, obviously."
"Damn it really?!"
"Fine, I'll be there in 10."
Hawks finished the conversation fairly quickly as he let out a loud frustrated huff.
"God I'd hate to see how loud you are in bed."
I joked but he definitely took that one a bit too literally since his lips curled into a small smirk.
"Wouldn't you like to know."
He teased while I rolled my eyes back at the bird man.
"Duty calls kid, but unfortunately I can't bring you this time since Endeavor is going to be there and you know how he feels about you being basically a pro already."
Hawks said while I just nodded since the last time he brought me along with Endeavor it ended in me getting the credit for the captures- rightfully so.
But Endeavor was pissed, literally bursting uncontrollably into flames.
"I'll see you later, shouldn't take that long."
He said before flying off immediately and leaving me to think for a second.
We don't have any food, fuck.
Sighing for myself I flew down to a less populated part of the city.
I personally just don't like the shit tons of people that were always scattered around the city.
Plus being recognized as the newest 'rising star pro hero' isn't exactly the most fun thing ever.
Dropping to the ground I stripped off my P.E clothes since I had my dress underneath.
It was a simple black dress and a silver pendant that I wore usually when I wasn't in school.
Lucky for me I could just shove it in my bag and not worry about it.
Forming some heels out of dark matter I slipped off my other ones and put them in the bag as well.
"Much better."
I praised myself as I began to walk over to the store, it was pretty far but I figured I had plenty of time.
The streets were mostly quiet here which was nice in comparison to the booming city.
This was definitely different from when I lived with mom.
She was a well known hero as well so I grew up with the press and other things like that.
It wasn't exactly pleasant but you make due with what you can get.
"Come back here!"
I was broken from my thoughts seeing 3 large men chasing after a small girl with white hair and bandages wrapped around her arms.
My assault form showed while the girl ran past me and I was left staring at the 3 men.
They all looked terrified of me.
"I'll make this quick."
I purred showing my claws and slashing into the men- in non vital areas so they wouldn't die from the cuts.
It only took about three slashes for each man so that wasn't that bad, I was more worried about the girl.
She did just watch me rip into 3 huge guys after all, the weird thing to me was the masks they were wearing.
I sighed letting my darkness fade and looking back at the girl.
She didn't look scared, she wasn't even flinching seeing me now.
She just had wide eyes and was staring at me with her mouth agape.
"Hey sweetheart, you're safe now yea? I'm sorry you had to see that."
I smiled while she just kept her eyes locked on me, she was basically speechless.
"Wanna see a magic trick?"
I figured I should pull what Hawks does and try to cheer up whatever person just survived whatever incident.
She hesitantly nodded very slightly while I just formed my dark matter into a ball and spun it in front of her.
My arms, hands, and my back were still covered in my dark matter so it just looked like sleeves of my dress.
After watching her stare at the ball for a few moments I formed it into a few different shapes before breaking it apart. I watched her eyes light up when she saw dark sparkles flying around her.
This seemed to calm her down for a few moments while she seemed to be trying to smile.
You couldn't tell with her mouth but with her eyes she looked a bit happier.
"Why do I have to do everything myself."
I heard someone say while her face just completely dropped at the mans words.
The footsteps stopped though while I saw a man in a green jacket and with one glove on walking out of the same alleyway the men did.
He looked pretty normal compared to the other men that attacked the girl though.
"What happened?"
The man asked walking past the writhing bodies of the men I had slashed open.
"Oh they tried to attack this girl, it's not fatal but they'll hurt like hell for a few months."
I explained while the girl held on to me, the man walked over to me, he didn't seem mad or anything either.
The girl winced behind me as he touched my shoulder, as what I assumed as a thank you for helping the girl.
"You alright?"
I questioned seeing as he didn't say anything to me when he did this, he was just standing there now holding my shoulder.
His eyes widened and he immediately took his hand off me at my words.
"Y-yes I'm fine, may I ask what your quirk is?"
He questioned which caught me mildly off guard.
"Dark Matter, my body runs with dark matter through it. So I can control that at my will."
I explained while letting my darkness fade from my arms and my back.
"That's how I avoid the mess of slashing, dark matter just absorbs it."
Shrugging he seemed completely awe struck, even the girl looked completely whited out.
"Seriously are you alright? I guess this is your daughter or something."
The girl hugged my leg while I said this but the man still looked completely dumbfounded.
"Y-yes she is, so that's how you were able to take out all those men without any help."
He said while I nodded with a sweet smile.
"Yea, it was pretty easy. If they don't die then I hope they learned from this."
I definitely sounded way too casual about that- but nothing I said was untrue so I figured it didn't matter much.
He glanced back at the men who still were bleeding profusely but they had gotten up to walk away now then at the girl clinging to my leg.
"What's your name anyway?"
I questioned which seemingly snapped the man from his trance like state when he was looking at me.
"Kai, and you?"
He sounded way too proper when he said that.
"(Y/n), or Demon as the media calls me."
My words seemed to strike him since his eyes went wide again, all the while the girl was still clinging to me.
"Demon? May I ask why?"
He questioned while I let my darkness run through me again.
I didn't want to scare the girl so I just let my eyes go black and my claws show with veins of darkness running through my body.
"I think you can see why now."
I giggled a bit while his breath seemed to hitch seeing me.
"You are pretty incredible I will say."
Kai praised softly while he reached out to touch my claw. This time it was with his gloved hand which confused me.
"Thanks, I'd ask what your quirk is but I guess you wouldn't really want to talk about it."
I gave him a lopsided smile while he kept a soft hold on my claw.
"I can manipulate matter with my hands."
He admitted while I just let my darkness fade other than my claw that he was holding.
"Huh well that kinda makes us opposite in some way I guess."
I giggled softly while he let go of my claw and looked up at me.
"Indeed, it does. As I said you are impressive though I'll give you that."
He chuckled lowly while I ruffled the girls hair, she seemed a tiny bit more calm holding on to me.
"I think you're just complimenting yourself at this point Kai, but I'm sure your quirk is useful for a lot of things."
I smiled while he looked down at his hands and probably smiled back, I couldn't tell from under the black face mask he had on.
"HEY KID! EITHER HURRY UP OR GET A ROOM WITH WHOEVER THAT IS!!"
Both of us looked up to see Hawks flying by with a stupid smug smirk on his face.
"I'm sorry about him, he's a pain in my ass."
I sighed while he again seemed completely stunned.
"That's Hawks, the rank 3 hero."
He said while I nodded simply since Hawks was impressive but he sure as hell was a baby.
"Yea he is, he makes me do everything with him though and he's a bit too invested in my love life. So my apologies for him, especially when you have your daughter here."
I gestured down to the girl while he shook his head.
"She's my niece, I don't have a daughter. It's just easier to say when I need to come get her."
Kai said while I raised a brow at him.
"Well that's good to know, I was going to say whoever the lucky girl is you seem a bit young to have kids."
"Well at least you know now."
He seemed a bit embarrassed now while I just giggled to myself.
"Yea, but I do have to get going before he comes back and embarrasses me more."
This seemed to disappoint him a bit but the girl now seemed scared to leave my side.
"I see, well in that case can I have your number? I'd like to continue discussing with you at a later date."
Kai questioned while I nodded and he handed me his phone.
I typed in my number and handed it back to him.
"It was nice meeting you Kai, and goodluck with her. Maybe you could bring her over sometime and I could play with her."
I smiled while kneeling down to her level and seeing her eyes sparkle a tiny bit at the offer.
"DAMN IT HURRY UP!!"
Hawks yelled down now flying above the both of us and grinning at me.
I rolled my eyes internally while Kai let out a small chuckle.
"I'll see, but the pleasure was mine (y/n). I'll see you soon."
He said ushering the girl with him, she reluctantly followed while they walked off.
Once they were gone I spread my wings and flew up to Hawks.
"I hate you."
