Ren's POV

I felt something rubbing against my face, and open my eyes to see Rio wing rubbing against my face.

"Wake it time to head to the Academy!" He shouted.

I got out of bed and did my morning routine and got ready for the Academy.

I am lucky that I only got suspended for two weeks... At least my parents didn't punish be since there were hardly here.

I spotted Boruto, Shikadai, and Denki walking towards the entrance of the Academy. Rio was in the air flying next to me.

Third person's POV

"All right, so this is gonna be the stage where I make my mark..." Boruto said.

"Are you an idiot?" You were just suspended for two weeks." Shikadai said to Boruto. "I was suspended too.," Ren said behind the three boys.

"Wh-when did you get here?!" They asked in unison. Rio glared at them for never noticing Ren. Make the three boys nervous.

"They seriously never notice me... Am I really that hard to notice?" Ren thought as she rolled her eyes at Rio glare.

"Oh Rio stop with the glaring, " Ren said looking at Rio.

"Anyway, it is bad enough with people gossiping about both you and Ren. Show some restraint, Boruto." Shikadai continued mainly focusing on Boruto.

"What's done is done! I can't worry about that." Boruto said as he walked in front.

Inojin's POV

I turned to my left, looking out of the window. I saw Boruto and a red-haired girl with him along with a girl dragon. "So, they didn't drop it... I said to myself.

Is that red-haired girl a foreigner? I have never seen her before in the village... Also never heard of a clan who have dragons...

Third person's POV

Boruto, Shikadai, Denki, and Ren entered the classroom. Boruto went ahead. " Hey, guy! I'm Brouto Uzumaki and this is Ren! Nice to meet you all!" Boruto said as he placed a hand on Ren's shoulder. Ren rolled her eyes at his behavior.

"I told you to restrain yourself," Shikadai said as he went to sit at his desk.

"Hey, Denki. Where's my desk?" Boruto asked?

"You can sit anywhere," Denki replied as Boruto went to take a seat in between Shikadai and Denki. As for Ren, she sat down behind Boruto with Rio sitting on the ground next to her.

"My mon's finally gonna ease up on me," Boruto said as he laid his head on the desk.

"Your mom?" Denki asked.

"I had to study at home for the whole two weeks," Boruto said, clearing Denki's confusion.

"That's him... how come he wasn't punished after doing something like that?" A group of boys gossiping at the back of the class.

Ren's POV

Wow, of course, they don't care if we heard them... It so annoying when people do that...

"And that girl as well...." another boy said. I let out a sigh knowing how this was going to go. "Her hair looks like a ... tomato ..." he continued. I lowered my head and let my bangs cover my eyes. 

Everyone's looking... Now they're all going to laugh at me... I tried to calm myself down. I should not let this bother me... I tried hard to suppress my anger as it would lead me to activate my kekkei Genkai  someone would get hurt like last time..... when I first accidentally used my kekkei Genkai

Then everyone will think I'm a monster.

Rio leaned close to my ear and whispered. "Don't let them get to you. Your is a wonderful color," he said. I smiled feeling a little bit better now.

"I mean... you know..." the boy continued. "It wasn't just a prank. If it would have plunged into town, it would have been a disaster. We'd all be dead by now..." he whispered, but loud enough for me and Boruto to hear.

I saw Denki turned to look at me and Boruto. "That's...." Denki said. "Don't pay attention to them," Shikadai said as he looked at me worriedly.

"I'm not.... and neither is Ren..." he looked at me and I gave the three of them a close eyed smile. I managed to keep from activating my Kekkei Genkai thanks to Rio words... "They can say whatever they want," I said. "Well, okay then," Shikadai said.

"Oh! I forgot my textbook." Boruto said. "This is your first day!" Shikadai said in disappointment. "Share your book with me, Shikadai," Boruto said, putting one hand on Shikadai's textbook.

Wow, Boruto is so forgetful... I thought rolling my eyes.

Sarada's POV

That Boruto, so annoying... "That Boruto sure stands out." Sumire started. "Really?" Cho-Cho said while polishing her nails. "Aren't people paying attention to him only because of that ridiculous stunt he pulled?" Cho-Cho continued. "You know him, don't you, Sarada?" she asked me. I really wish I didn't... But, I am curious about that red-haired girl... like where she come from and what with the dragon... "Sarada?" Cho-Cho asked, snapping me out of my thoughts. "Our parents are friends, that's all," I replied. " So, you're saying... you're childhood friends." Cho-Cho teased.

"I'm more curious about that red-haired girl," I said changing the topic. "What was her name again? Ren?" Cho-Cho asked. "I-I think we should be friends with her. She seems nice." Sumire suggested.

Ren huh?

Third person's POV

Inojin walked down the steps to Boruto's desk. "Riding on the Hokage's coattails, huh?" He asked mockingly. "H-hey! Inojin!" Sumire stuttered. 

Something bothers me about that purple-haired girl... I sense evil chakra from her... I should keep an eye on her... My dragon senses our never wrong... but it seems Ren hasn't picked up on it yet... Rio thought looking over at the purple-haired girl.

"Oops, did I just say that out loud?" Inojin asked, smiling.

"Hey, Inojin. Take that back." Ordered Shikadai. "Oh, sorry. If it touched a nerve, I take it back. But, that's just how everyone's feeling here. If anyone else caused a runaway train, it would be normal if they were thrown in jail." Inojin continued. "That's..." Denki started, but was cut off by Boruto putting a hand on his shoulder. "Look, you know that's not what happened," Shikadai said.

"I guess..." Inojin said, giving them a close eyed smile. "Hey, Boruto. How long has it been?" He changed the topic. "Hi, Inojin!" Boruto greeted.

 "Nice to meet you, Inojin." A soft voice was heard from behind the said boy. Inojin froze and turned around to see a certain red-haired girl petting the head of a green dragon.  "You're the one who caused the accident as well, huh?" Inojin said. "Hey, Inojin. Stop-" Shikadai began, but was cut off by Ren. "I did not cause the incident. I happened to be there and helped Boruto. I'm Ren by the way, nice to meet you."Ren said clearing the situation. 

He likes to express his thoughts freely... Ren thought.

"Listen, Inojin. I know you've been like this for a long time. But why do you always shoot your mouth off?" Shikadai asked. "I'm not trying to cause trouble or anything," Inojin said. "Well, if you keep doing that, you will cause trouble," Ren said giving him a close eyed smile. Why fake smile all the time? Inojin thought as he looked at Ren.

"Uh-huh. How our parents are doesn't matter. Anyways, let's be friends." Boruto said, extending his hand to Inojin. Inojin slapped Boruto's hand away. Ren glared at Inojin's rude behavior.

"Well, I don't even consider you worth my trust," Inojin replied,  Then, the class rep, Sumire, spoke about being together and tolerating with each other.

Just then, Shino-sensei entered the classroom. Inojin went back to his place and the class started their lesson.

Ren's POV

we were all now in the training yard. We were running through an obstacle course. Everyone was done expected for Boruto.

"Okay Boruto, that's good. We're all done. We've now measured everyone's basic skill level. Next time we will begin actual practice with the data we gathered. " Shino says once Boruto reaches the finish line. "Right!" The whole class says. Denki quickly runs over to Boruto, his small laptop in hand. I walked over to see what he was going to show him on his laptop.

"Wow, Boruto! That was really terrific! You have the third-best time in the whole class!" He says, showing the blond his laptop. "Wait, what? You mean that I'm not on top?" Boruto asks and looks at the scores.  "I think you did well, Boruto," I said, surprising both boys.

We took a look at Denki's computer. So I got second, Boruto is in third... a guy named Iwabe Yuino came in first... who is he?

"Ren! You're amazing! Denki complimented. "How are you so fast? Your time is so close to beat first place. Anyways, who's this Iwabe, the one that beat me." Boruto asked, looking around.

Denki hums and looks around. "Oh, I don't think he's actually here today. He said something about it before about it not being worth his time being around amateurs like us." He answers. "Really?" Boruto asks blankly.

This Iwabe guy seems rude...

Then the bell rings and we head back into the classroom.

"I'm so hungry," Boruto said entering the classroom. We approached a group of boys. "Hey! You guys Are you going to lunch? Can I join..." Boruto asked.

"Sorry, we're going to the rooftop." One of them said. "You should go quickly too." Another said as they rushed out of the classroom.

They seem scared... hmmm? I can sense another person's chakra here... I turned to look at Rio and see if he sense it us and he nodded his head towards the top desk. I looked expecting someone to be there.

"What's with them? Huh? Ren, what are you and your dragon friend looking at-" Boruto was cut off by a voice coming from where I was looking. "Go somewhere else," The person interrupted as he got up and turned to look at us. I glared at him not liking his tone. 'You're

You're bothering me. Can't you see I'm using this room." he says as he sits up. "Who's he?" Boruto asks. "Iwabee Yuino." Denki answers. "Iwabee the repeater. They say that he failed the graduation exams twice." Shikadai whispers. "

Third person's POV

"So an upperclassman, huh? Cool! Nice to meet ya!" Boruto says with a grin. Iwabee looks at him and glares at him. "I don't want to be your little friend, Hokage's boy." He says causing Boruto's smile drop. Ren glares at the older male.  "What does it matter whose son I am?" He asks.

Iwabee jumps away from the desk and lands in front of Boruto before roughly grabbing him by the collar of his jacket. "I just don't like the idea of having a guy like you hanging around a guy like me all the time. Do you get that? Do you think you're special? Go hide in your father's shadow." He says as other students start coming into the room.

"Hey! You take that back!" Boruto says as he tries to push Iwabee away. Ren takes a step forward and is about to intervene when Rio bites her shirt pulling her back to prevent her from getting involved. "Don't." He whispers to her.

Iwabee clicks his tongue before shoving Boruto back. "Seriously, that's it? You aren't even worth my time." He says. "Boruto!" Denki exclaims as he runs to his friend's side. Shikadai glares angrily at Iwabee. "You dirty little-" He started to say, but Iwabee cuts him off by putting his staff in front of him. "If you have a problem with me, bring it on." He says. "I wouldn't do it if I were you. I heard the instructors talking about how impressed they were with Iwabee's taijutsu skills." Denki mutters to Boruto. "Oh yeah? Then why does he keep flunking?" He asks. "I really don't know, but I don't think you should test him," Denki said. 

He is most likely weak when it comes to academics so he keeps failing... Ren thought looking at Iwabe and calming down enough for Rio to let her go.

"Listen to me. Strength is the only thing that matters to a ninja! What's the use of simply studying obediently like all of you? The current Hokage was the strongest in all of history. As long as you're strong, a ninja can get away with anything!" Iwabee says. "But Iwabee, even Lord Seventh made it his goal to use ninjutsu in peaceful ways, that's why I also-" Denki tries to say but is cut off. "JUST SHUT UP! Weaklings don't get to talk. Just 10 years ago our people were fighting in a war. When Lord Hokage was a Ninja on the front lines it wasn't like this at all, but then this place turned all soft and turned into a school for wimps! That's not going to fly with me! A weakling that only got accepted here by riding on his father's coattails is nothing more than an embarrassment." Iwabee yells.

"Being a ninja isn't all about strength. You need speed, stealth, and agility, and you need to be smart and figure out your opponent's weaknesses." Ren tells him. "Don't start any trouble, Ren!" Rio warns her whispering in her ear.

"He's nothing like that at all." Denki suddenly says. "Huh?" Iwabee asks, turning his attention to the smaller boy. "You're wrong! Boruto's not like that at all! It was because of watching Boruto that I wanted to join the academy! You don't know anything!" Denki shouts at him. Iwabee slowly walks over to Denki and grabs him by his shirt collar. "Some brave words you got there. But still, you only get to speak to me like that after you defeat me." He tells him. "Cut it out!" Boruto yells as he stands up and quickly kicks Iwabee in the arm, causing him to drop Denki. "I see. So your idea of strength is just to bully people into doing what you want. Is that it?" He asks as he stands in front of Denki protectively. "What did you say?" Iwabee asks. "Boruto," Shikadai warns. "Its okay Shikadai," Boruto reassures him before looking back at Iwabee. "Before I came here I made a decision that I wouldn't fight, but if I have to I'll take you on!" He says confidently. Iwabee smirks at him.

Boruto is crazy sometimes over here challenging the guy... Ren thought as they headed to the training hall.

Out in the hallway.

"Oh, hello there Shino-sensei. So today's the day that Boruto  and that girl name Ren starts isn't it." Anko says to the man. "That's right," Shino confirms. "To be suspended on the first day of school. He is quite a character. The girl she a mystery. I never have seen her before in this village." Anko said. "I never expected that I'd be assigned to be his homeroom teacher. I haven't either but I believe one of her parents in the Anbu and the other works at the hospital," Shino admits. Anko smiles. "Well, better make the most of it." She tells him. "Oh yes, don't worry. I'm going to be very strict with him. That's my job and responsibilities now." Shino says in determination before he enters the classroom. Once in the classroom, Shino stops in his tracks. "What?!" He shouts. Anko stops walking away and peeks her head into the room. "Oh my." She says when she sees the students gone. "Where are my students?" Shino asks himself before dropping his books.

In the exercise hall.

"Ah! What do we do?! And what about class?!" Sumire asks as she panics. "Eh, so what. We can just blame the guys who are fighting." ChoCho says while eating her chips. Sarada sighs and pushes up her glasses. "This is so annoying." She says before turning to watch the two boys. "What's the matter? Not getting scared are you?" Iwabee asks. "Hah! No way! This exercise hall is like a fighting ring! This is gonna be fun!" Boruto says as he looks around in amazement. Iwabee chuckles before he stabs his staff in the ground. "Watch closely you guys. This is a ninjutsu match and we'll be following Academy rules. So don't worry, I won't be using my weapon, because if I did use it then you'd be dead." He says, a wide smirk on his lips. Boruto smirks right back. From the stands, Denki watches them in worry. "This whole thing is my fault." He says. "No, it isn't. He brought it all upon himself by taking up this challenge. He's going to get suspended again." Shikadai tells him. "You think that's all he'll get? I say expelled. But at least he's not a coward, he's just stupid." Inojin says as he walks over to them. Ren rolls her eyes at his words then focus back on the two boys fighting.

Soon enough, Iwabee makes the first move as he throws some shuriken at Boruto. Boruto jumps out of the way and runs at Iwabee and tries to punch him multiple times before he gets smacked away. Iwabee tries to kick him, but Boruto back-flips away in time. "So you can keep up a little, huh?" Iwabee asks. Boruto says nothing as he runs at him while throwing shuriken, but Iwabee just dodges. Boruto soon appears behind Iwabee and tries kicking him. "He's fast." Iwabee thinks as he blocks Boruto and grabs his leg and fist when Boruto tries to punch and kick him. Boruto tries again to kick him in the head, but again he was blocked. "Well, that's not going to work," Iwabee says before throwing Boruto into one of the stone structures. "Oh no," Shikadai says.

"What's the matter? You finish already ?" Iwabee asks. "Dammit. You made me get my clothes all dirty." Boruto replies. ChoCho stops watching them and turns to looks at Sarada, only to see her staring intensely at the two fighting boys. "I thought you weren't interested in this?" She asks. "I'm not." Sarada denies. "It sure doesn't look like you're not interested," ChoCho tells her with a smirk. "You're delusional." Sarada states. "Anyways, I think he's in real trouble. He's no match for that guy." ChoCho says.

Boruto throws more shuriken but Iwabee deflects them with a kunai while Boruto starts to run behind three different stone structures. "Pretty clever," Iwabee says to himself. Boruto appears behind a fourth structure and throws more shuriken but Iwabee deflects them. Boruto tries to grab his arm but Iwabee just throws him away. "Hands off!" Iwabee says. Iwabee spin flips in the air. "It's over!" He yells and kicks Boruto only for him to be a clone. "I'm over here," Boruto says and kicks Iwabee in the face. Iwabee goes flying but a puff of smoke appears and a log with it. "A substitution?" Shikadai says.  "Dang it!" Boruto says as he and his clones stand back to back. "Where?" Boruto asks himself as he backs up onto a stone structure. Some of the stone structure peels away like paper to reveal Iwabee. "Behind you!" Denki yells. Iwabee grabs Boruto in a chokehold only for it to be another clone. "Substitution with a disguise jutsu, huh? That's pretty good." Boruto says. "Yeah, you too. Shadow clones. And they even stay manifested. That's some chakra." Iwabe tells him. "What's chakra?" Denki asks as he looks it up on his laptop. "Chakra is basically a form of Energy. It is the combination of two types of energy, Spiritual energy, and Physical energy." Ren explains. "It also says here that it's the energy that is produced by the unmeasurable quantity of cells that are contained within the human body," Denki says making Ren nod. "Yeah, learning how to manipulate chakra is the first step towards mastering ninjutsu," Shikadai says as Boruto makes more Shadow clones.

"Interesting, but I can take on any number of clones." Iwabee states. "We'll see," Boruto says as he and his clones run at Iwabee. "Too easy," Iwabee says when he kicks their legs out from under them. Boruto and his clones continue trying to hit Iwabee but their attempts are in vain. "You know, you really shouldn't waste your clones or you'll run out of energy too fast," Iwabee says smirking. "Just shut up," Boruto says as he makes more shadow clones. Iwabee smirks and throws down a smoke bomb. Boruto and his clones start to look around to try and find Iwabee. "It's clear that this guy is used to combat," Shikadai says. Denki looks down on his laptop. "The data says he was the top student in Ninjutsu last year too. Although it seems his grades in other courses were dismal." Denki says. "Man, this guy is a serious drag! The academy should have just let him graduate already." Shikadai says. "Wait, there! Get him!" Boruto says to his clones when he sees Iwabee. One of the clones runs at him but Iwabee soon beats him causing the clone to turn into smoke. "Go! Next one!" Boruto orders. "Would it kill you to say please once in a while?" Boruto's clone asks and the two clones run at Iwabee. Iwabee quickly beats both of the clones as well. "Boruto, no!" Denki yells.

Inojin looks at Boruto in confusion. "He's so determined. But just why is he that determined?" Inojin asks himself. "It doesn't seem like he's riding on anyone's coattails. Not to me." Sumire says as Iwabee punches the clones. "It's too easy. Reach your limit already? Hokage's boy." Iwabee says."Shut up! I won't give in to somebody who thinks strength is everything!" Boruto says. "But that's just what you'll do. It's the exact same thing that the Hokage and all the other adults have always been doing. They all rose up through the ranks because of power. Now they just decide that times have changed! If things were the same, I would have graduated and become a ninja a long time ago! But the way things are now, unless I passed courses that have absolutely nothing to do with ninjutsu, then I'm stuck here!" Iwabee yells. Boruto sweat drops. "You think maybe you might just be really bad at studying?" He asks. "S-so what if I am, huh?!" Iwabee asks, his voice shaking. "It means you're taking things out on the wrong person," Boruto replies. "What did you say?!" Iwabee exclaims. "If you really want to become a ninja then you have to keep at it no matter how many times you fail!" Boruto says as he runs at Iwabee and tries to punch him again.

Boruto and his clones attack Iwabee, but he just continues to dodge and fights back. "Instead, you blamed the times you're living in. You skip classes and you act like the world is against you!" Boruto says, grabbing Iwabee around the waist. "And that's one of the most uncool things I've ever heard!" He yells. Iwabee quickly grabs Boruto by his hair and throws him. "Your calling me uncool?!" He yells. "Yeah, duh. There's no way I'm ever going to lose to you!" Boruto says and he and his clones run at Iwabee again. "You asked for it," Iwabee says as he performs the Cloak of Invisibility Technique. Boruto and his clones all start looking around for him. "What's wrong? I'm right over here." Iwabee says. Boruto looks up to see him standing on the side of one of the stone structures. "The Clone Jutsu is useless, when the real one goes down," Iwabee says as he throws some shuriken at Boruto and it cuts his arm. "So the one in the back is the real you then," Iwabee says as he drops down the stone structure to Boruto. Boruto smirks and puffs into a cloud of smoke, shocking Iwabee. "My clones aren't substitutes for the real me! I'm not riding on...The Hokage's coattails!" Boruto and his clones say. One of them kicks him in the stomach. Another one uppercuts him in the jaw and lastly one kicks him in the cheek, sending him flying. Ren claps her hands.

"He did it!" Denki says, smiling happily.  Boruto's clones disappear as Iwabee slowly sits up. "Yeah, you have your burdens to bare. Everyone does, but they all come here despite them. So don't stand in their way." Boruto tells him. Ren looks down at her new friend and nods her head. "Boruto, you can actually be so mature." She thinks before Iwabee suddenly screams in anger and jumps in the air before landing next to his staff. "Quit messing around. You jerk!" He shouts, grabbing his staff, and lets the ground attached to his staff. "No way! What's that?!" Sarada asks. Ren looks at it and narrows her eyes. Inojin stands up and pulls out his scroll and starts to draw. Iwabee screams again and pulls his staff out of the ground and it forms into a giant hammer. He then hits the ground with it and a line of jagged rocks goes straight toward a shone structure, making it fall over. "He knows Earth Style too?!  Ren looks at Inojin scroll wondering what it was for. "Wait, what?!" Boruto says in surprise. "The only thing that I've ever wanted is to become like the Hokage. I want to fight like him!" Iwabee says as his eyes water. He takes his staff out the ground and holds it in front of him.

"That's the path I've chosen and I'm not going to let it end right here! There's no way!" He says and raises the hammer over his head. Out of nowhere a yellow, orange and red hawk flies over and grabs the weapon. "What is that?" Denki asks. "Super Beast Scroll!...Inojin!" Shikadai says as he turns to look at the pale blonde. The hawk flies over and drops the weapon into Sakina's hands before it disappears back into the liquid it was made from. "Nicely done, Inojin!" Shikadai praises him. "Thanks." He says smiling. "Hey, what's the big idea? Stay out of this!" Iwabee yells. Inojin's smile drops. "What's wrong? Didn't you say you weren't going to use your weapon? How can you call it a fair fight if you break the rules?" He questions. Iwabee stares at them for a few seconds before letting his hand drop to his side. "...You know, your right. I'm uncool." He says. All the students start cheering and soon Shino runs in. "What is going on here? Boruto!" He asks. "Haha! Yeah!" Boruto says and gives a thumbs up.

The next day in class.

"Boruto, do you want to eat lunch with me?" A boy asks. "Yeah, with me too?" Another one asks. "Yeah, okay sounds good!" Boruto says cheerfully. "Ren come and eat with us!" Boruto said. "Alright," Ren said with a close eye smile.

"What up with that girl? Yesterday it looked like her eyes were glowing yellow.." A girl in the back said talking to another girl next to her. "I don't know but we should stay away she might be dangerous.." Another girl said loud enough for only Ren to hear.

"I'm glad that the air has been cleared." He says. Shikadai sighs and puts his hand on his neck. "Although, Anko-sensei gave him a real earful." He tells him. "I'm sure he's just going to get in trouble again. Do you know what I mean? And as usual, will probably get away with it too. " A boy says to his two friends. "Must be nice riding someone's coattails," another boy replies. Inojin stands up and walks over to them. "You guys are sad." He tells them with his eyes closed and hands in his pockets. "What are you talking about," Another boy asks. "He wasn't just fighting for himself. He did it for his classmate to. Back when Denki was being bullied by those other guys, I didn't see any of you trying to help." Inojin says. "Oh..well..I..uh." one boy tries to say. "I don't really want to sound like Boruto, but you guys are totally uncool," Inojin tells them with a smile and the three of them look down in shame.

A few seconds later Iwabee opens the classroom door. "Iwabee..you?" A boy questions looking scared. Iwabee ignores him and walks over to Boruto. "Hey man," Boruto says as he turns to look at him. Iwabee smiles a little. "Hey there." He says, a small blush on his cheeks. "So you showed up after all?" Boruto asks. Iwabee nods and sits down behind him and next to Ren. "Well, since were classmates and everything." He says. "Huh?!" Denki exclaims in shock making Ren shrugged. "Man, what a drag," Shikadai says. "Hey, Iwabee glad you changed ." Ren.said and gave him a close eye smile. Soon, Shino comes into the classroom. "Stand and bow," Sumire says tells everyone, and they all bow.

Why does it feel like she faking this? Plus Rio giving her a very serious look could she be the source of the evil charka I felt like I was feeling in the classroom... Ren thought looking back at Sumire then Rio.
