Chapter Twenty Eight
*Cameron*
"I believe the owner just told you to leave. We're closing." Sia's voice was dark with a hard edge to it.
A moment ago I was irritated and angry at him and at myself for being stupid enough to become jealous over something I had no right to be jealous about. But now I was annoyed mixed with feeling highly uncomfortable, and I'll admit a little frightened. I don't know why Bret was here or how he even found me. The first time was bad enough when he showed up at Tristan's eighteenth birthday party.
I thought me telling him to leave me alone and never look for me again would have been confirmation enough that I no longer wanted anything to do with him. But apparently it didn't get through to his thick skull or he refuses to heed my words.
"I'm here to talk to Cam. So if you can so kindly move out of my way."
"I already told you Bret. There's nothing else to talk about between us. Please leave, you're disturbing me at my workplace." I state loudly and firmly so he could get the hint.
"According to him-" He gives Sia a mocking glare. "You're now closed so work has ended. I need to talk to you, please Cameron." He practically begs his eyes turning doe like that use to get me to relent to his every whim.
Now it just looks pathetic and lame. I couldn't believe I had ever fallen for that look of his.
"I don't think he wants to talk to you. And I'm pretty sure he just told you to leave. We're closed but we still have work to do. Leave before something drastic needs to be done." He slightly threatens causing a small panic to rise in me.
"Are you threatening me?" Bret's tone was hard.
I don't want Sia fighting Bret. Not during work hours. I may have hated knowing he started working here and constantly being in my space but I kind of got used to him always being around. I actually...liked him being here, being in my space. He made me feel safe.
But now both of their pheromones were seeping thick into the air, and I wasn't sure my body could handle both at the same time. When I felt Sia's suddenly out of nowhere I knew something was wrong. They didn't feel the same as when he released them around me. They felt off and charged and not in a good way. It wasn't until I suddenly felt Bret's that I knew what the cause of it was. I thought I had been imagining his scent in this place earlier, thinking maybe the mixture of all kinds of Alpha's and Omega's scents were mixing to smell like his but he really was here.
Somewhere I didn't want him to be.
And his pheromones kept making me feel like I wanted to throw up. Something that it never has done before even after we broke up. Even when he showed up out of nowhere at Axel's home. When we had privately talked away from everyone else he let slip his pheromones trying his best to rub it on me knowing how much I hated to be branded in such a way. Even then I couldn't deny they made me feel aroused like he knew they would.
Instead of making me relent, it made me angry, telling him off and forcing him to leave the property. Other than during sex Sia, not once, has ever emersed his pheromones on me just because he knew he could. When we argue he doesn't even let a tiny bit slip when he knew he could have to get me to calm down and give in to his advances like Bret and all the others have done.
That was something I was definitely noticing about him during this arrangement of ours. It's not something I should even be thinking about noticing but I couldn't help doing it anyways. It was a dangerous path, and I knew better but it was like my brain just didn't care.
Now here they both were standing chest to chest, neither backing down from the other. Toby couldn't get too close as he was an Alpha too and their pheromones were affecting him. Bill and the other waiter were Betas. They were our best shot at getting those two apart and they needed to do it fast.
"Bill, this unwelcome customer is pushing Alpha pheromones on your employees. He needs to be evacuated before something bigger than words happens between them." My voice shook from the submerge, getting Sia's attention right away.
Instantly he retracted his own, turning to look at me only for Bret to use his distraction as leverage. I cry out in alarm just when he throws a punch right into Sia's jaw pushing him backwards a few feet.
My eyes widen, it was like everything went still for a moment as we all stared in shock of what just happened. Sia slowly turns his head back to Bret and none of us saw it coming, I don't think even Bret did. One moment he was standing there and the next he was lying flat on his back his nose once again gushing blood.
But this time unlike with Axel, Bret didn't just lay there on the ground surrounded by people like before. He didn't even bother holding his nose to stop the bleeding. He went right at Sia's legs and yanked him hard to where he fell right on his ass.
Then he released a massive wave of angry pheromones that sent me to my knees without no resistance at all. My stomach churned with nausea as sweat beaded my skin. It was like my own pheromones were recoiling from his as they swam over me like an icky coat of slime. Toby tensed as he tried to back away from the two. And Rene falls to the ground gasping as her body shakes uncontrollably. And just as fast as Bret released his, Sia didn't hesitate to do the same.
His overpowered Bret's instantly. There was just no challenge against him as he fully let go of what I knew he has been holding back for a long time. Toby even stumbled to the ground breathing hard while both Bill and the other waiter, who I can never remember his name, go to separate the two of them as Bret tries to act tough against Sia's dominate Alpha trait.
My chest was heaving with the heavy breathing. My body was at war with itself as it wanted to desperately reject Bret's but completely accept Sia's, recognizing his familiarity. My vision blurs and my head starts to pound from the mix of them both. I needed to get out of here, needed to get away from this place and get some fresh air.
"Damn it! Stop it the both of you! Look what you're doing to everyone!" Bill screams finally getting the attention of the bouncer named Roy who had been outside closing everything up.
He comes rushing in with his builder body and thank fuck he was a Beta. He stomps over to Sia who now had Bret back on the ground punching his face in repeatedly. But as soon as he heard the words that Bill said he stops and looks right at me. No one else as his eyes widen and he immediately gets off the douche bag that I was ashamed to even call ex-boyfriend.
Roy lets him pass, grabbing a beat up Bret by the shirt and proceeds to drag him out like a sack of grain. Bret didn't even try to fight him as he looked worse for wear. But my attention was no longer on him as Sia quickly crouches to my level and cradles my face with gentle hands.
"I'm sorry, are you okay? Was it too much? I didn't mean too. He just really pissed me off." He says all in one breath, his pheromones already retracting.
Starting to breathe normally again as Bill went to open the windows to allow what was left in the place to air out, I take his hands in mine and slowly bring them down to look at the damage he has done. They were bloody and raw with a few cuts.
"It's okay. You didn't have a choice." I shakily say as I lay my forehead on his chest feeling the pounding of his heart from the whole ordeal.
"It's not okay. I lost my cool with him being here. But there was no way I was going to let him near you." He pulls my face back to look up at him again and this time he was wearing a frown. "I felt your pheromones Cam. You were scared, why?"
Shaking my head I close my eyes once again putting my forehead back on his chest. "Not here. I don't want to talk about it here." I mumble.
He wraps his arms around me and whispers. "Okay, not here. But you're coming home with me. I don't trust that guy to follow and find out where you live."
Toby grunts as he finally gets his own composure. "After what you just did to him I doubt that asshole will be going anywhere, much less have the strength to follow anyone."
"Everyone alright?" Bill asks as he looks around at each of us.
The other guy was making sure Rene was doing okay as she nods at him seeming to be completely confused on what was going on right now. Sia stands up pulling me along with him.
"Bill, I'm sorry. That went way out of hand. I understand if you need to fire me-" Sia starts again making me panic when Bill raises a hand up.
"Stop right there, young man. It was completely out of hand and uncalled for. But I'm not blind to see that he was obviously harassing one of my employees who wasn't even aware he was here in the first place. Let's just get this place closed up and everyone home. Get your hands checked."
With that he goes to meet Roy outside probably to make sure that Bret gets where he needs to go. After gaining my strength and composure I quickly help the others clean and lock up. Sia doesn't even allow us to change out of our uniforms as he grabs our stuff in one hand and grabs mine in the other. Hell, I didn't even care anymore if anyone saw us holding hands.
Toby and the other waiter had both left minutes before while Bill was holding onto Rene who was still quite drunk. "She going with you?" He asks Sia, who nods. "Yeah, Roy you mind putting her in the back seat of my car?"
Roy nods and goes to sweep her up right into his arms like she didn't weigh a damn thing. She coos as she smiles at him lopsidedly. "Hey there big guy. Ever been with an Omega who could rock your world in the bedroom?"
"Let me guess, you volunteer to be the first?" His tone was flat but there was a small smirk on his lips as he walks out.
"I could totally be the first." She chuckles making Sia shake his head with a roll of his eyes.
He looks back down at me, tightening our fingers together more firmly as if he was afraid I was going to let go or something. Maybe I would have a few weeks ago, but right now I had no intention of pulling away.
"Ready to go?" He asks softly and all I could do was nod.
