Chapter Six

*Sia*

I needed to get the hell out of there.

I was so hard that I was afraid my pheromones were going to attract unwanted attention. Besides, how creepy was it that I stood just outside his door listening to his sounds as he pleasured himself like that? I invaded his privacy without him even knowing it. I felt disgusted with myself.

Great job Sia, prove Cameron that he was right about the Alpha pool gene all along.

Quickly stepping outside I allowed the cool night air to wash over me and cool down my heated skin. I couldn't be too hard pressed against myself though. I found him attractive. Way more attractive than I've found anybody. It wasn't just because he was an Omega either. I loved his personality.

It's what keeps me coming back for more.

Man, I really was pathetic.

I stay outside until my raging erection was now a semi. Thank goodness because it would have been unbearable walking around or sitting with this thing pressed against my jeans the entire night. Maybe I should go and get laid. Maybe it will take the edge off. Shit, when was the last time I had sex? I've been so preoccupied with what was going on with Tristan I haven't really thought about anything else in the last few months.

Getting laid seemed less important during those times. But now that he was back and safe from harm, about to have a baby, apparently he wasn't stressed out enough to where he was getting it on with Axel to make that happen. But everything was settling down now. It was time to get back to my own life and pick up where I left it off when Tristan was taken from Sean's.

However, now my thoughts were filled with a short haired brunette with enough sass and sarcastic remarks to completely take over my every waking thought and every dreamed filled mind. But maybe I just needed to get my dick wet with a random. Maybe find another Omega out there and get what my dick desperately needed to get Cam off my mind.

The gates chime open snapping my head in time to see Axel's car driving through. I halfheartedly wave as he passes me to park. Watching him get out I could tell the guy was beat. Wearing a suit all the time had to get tiring, since he was walking dead on his feet, his tie halfway undone, the first three buttons of his white shirt popped.

Tristan lucked out. The guy was drop dead gorgeous, even I could see that.

"Hey." He even sounded dead tired.

"You look like shit." Lies, but I wasn't going to tell him that.

A small lopsided grin appears. Roughly shifting his hand through his hair he sighs. "I could use a few days off, but Lincoln needs me."

That will forever boggle my mind. His half brother turned out to be his full blooded brother. Crazy and completely unexpected. And apparently not the psychotic asshole everyone thought him to be either. Again crazy.

"He wants to make sure to get as much done as possible before you have your kid." I say, knowing it was true.

Overheard him once when he was visiting with Thomas and Andi. Still hard to believe and old habits die hard thinking that he was going to turn around and stab everyone in the back like Han Nolan would have done. But he has yet to do or say anything that would cause for any concern.

I watch Axel look at the other cars in the vacancy with a frown. "Cam is still here too?" he asks, looking back at me.

My heart speeds at just the mention of the guy and what he had been up to in his own room moments ago. Clearing my throat, I reply, "Uh yeah. Staying the night. Tristan's asleep on the couch again. I didn't want to leave until you got here."

He nods with a yawn. "Guess I'll grab him and head up to bed. You leaving then?" He starts heading for the door.

"Yeah, now that you're here. Tell Tris I'll see him in the morning."

"Will do." He waves his hand over his head not looking back over at me as he opens his door and shuts it.

I couldn't help watching in the window, where a slight opening in the curtains were, and watch as he comes up to his mate, leans down to kiss him on the head whispering something to him. Tristan doesn't even open his eyes as he smiles dreamingly. Axel gently pulls him in a sitting position and cradles him right into his arms then heads straight for the stairs.

With his stomach growing he couldn't hold him like he used too, but seeing the love glow from the two of them like that sent a dull ache in my chest and a douse of sadness into my being. Jealousy ate at me that they found something so special. It was rare to be mated, even rarer to be marked.

A one in a million chance and I wished that something like that could one day happen to me.

***

I wanted to get laid.

But what the hell was I doing here at The Leaf of all places? It wasn't even really much of a scene for pick me ups. Yet I saw the fancy sign in the small town with bustling people looking like they were having a good time.

Recently just moving here to be closer to my cousin, especially after the fiasco that went down, I've only seen this place during the day. And it was completely different from what I remembered. Wasn't it a café?

Stepping through the doors I look around the place. It was a completely different atmosphere at night then in the morning. The lights were dimmed low, and the coffee bar was turned into an actual bar. The small tables that are usually decorated with little flowers and little assortments of condiments were replaced with lighted candles floating in water in circular clear glass bowls with rose petals.

People were dressed nicer with lowkey tones as soft jazz music played in the background. Heading to the bar I sit on one of the stools and waited until the bartender came up to me.

"What will it be?" The older gentlemen asks, looking a bit overwhelmed.

"I'll just take a draft beer."

He nods his head and walks away. I couldn't help observing as he gets swamped as more people pile in. When he finally comes back with my drink I couldn't help asking,

"I thought this place was a café?"

He stops and stares at me for a moment. "Wait, I've seen you before."

I give him a smile. "Sia, I'm Tristan's cousin. I actually just moved here myself."

Surprise takes over his face at hearing that. "Oh! The birthday party. I helped catering for that event. You must have gotten on the good side of old Nigel if he allowed you to move here. He's a little overprotective at times." He chuckles.

I couldn't help smiling at that as he quickly walks away to help more customers.

Ten minutes later he comes back. "Sorry about that. My bartender quit on me at the last minute, and I can't seem to catch a break. But to answer your earlier question. It's a café during the day and a bar at night."

That surprised me. "You're open all day long? Don't you ever catch a break?"

He shrugs as he fills four draft beers. "Open at six in the morning, close at one in the morning." He chuckles. "But I normally have help."

That perks me up. "Are you looking for a new bartender then? I have experience." I quickly input.

I really needed to get a new job if I was going to live here. I was looking but it was such a small and close nit community that it was nearly impossible if you weren't related or known the people more than half your life. And it was getting harder and harder to commute to my current employment in the city.

"Yeah? You're interested?" He raises an eyebrow as he hands over the beers to a waiting man.

"If you're willing to hire an outsider."

He cracks a grin. "Unlike the townspeople here, I'm not opposed to giving a job to those who need it. Besides, you live here now and that's acceptance as it gets. When can you start?"

I sit up straighter at the prospect of actually getting a job here. "I could start yesterday."

He throws his head back and laughs good naturally. "I like you kid. How about tomorrow. Be here at four thirty and I'll get you set up with your uniform and the requirements of the job. Shift starts at five."

He reaches out a hand and I immediately shake it. "Just so you know, you just hired your best employee."

He chuckles again. "I don't know. I think the kid I just hired for the café shift will make you eat those words. Best damn decision I ever made hiring him. But you're night shift so we'll see."

With that he walks away again when some of the customers were demanding his attention. I sat there in a daze. The purpose of me being here was to get laid. Instead I was landed with a job. It was like the universe knew exactly what I needed instead of what I wanted.

Maybe things were finally looking up.
