Y/N started eating the porridge hungrily. It has been a few days since she had a proper meal and the porridge the stranger gave was a feast for her. As she was devouring the scrumptious food, she heard a chuckling sound. Y/N lifted her head slowly and saw her mother and the stranger laughing at her.

" sorry..." she said shyly before giving her mother the almost empty bowl.

"she's so cute" the stranger said as she pinched Y/n's cheek making her smile at the compliment.

"thank you" she whispered shyly as she snuggled closer to her mother. Her mother smiled as she hugged her petite body.

"so, what made you come to my house, Mina?" the stranger asked her mother suddenly. Y/N raised her head from her mother's chest and looked at her face. Her mother was nervously biting her lips, chest heaving up and down while breathing irregularly.

A heavy silence filled the room. Y/n's mother stared blankly at her lap while the stranger looked at her with a concerned face before carefully breaking the silence.

"It's okay if you're not ready to tell me your problem, I'm not forcing you" she said. Y/N's mother nodded slightly and sighed. The room started to get awkward again.

" What's your name, darling?" the woman suddenly asked Y/N as her fingers caressed Y/n's soft cheeks. Y/N smiled and got down from the tall bench, getting ready to introduce herself just as the way her mother taught her.

"My name is Ch-"

"Her name is Kim Y/N" Y/N's mother said, earning a confused look from her daughter. As long as she knew, her surname was Choi, following her father's. She tried to correct her mother, thinking that she may forget her name but zipped her mouth when her mother gave her a glare.

" Your name is just as beautiful as you, dear" the woman said. Y/N blushed and mumbled a thank you as she buried her face into her mother's arm. Both her mother and the stranger laughed at her behavior.

Mina sighed as she laid Y/N on the bed carefully so that she won't wake her up. It was a very long and tiring day for her and all Mina wanted was to  forget all her problems and have a long nap to recover her energy. Sighing again, she walked outside the room while massaging her stiff shoulder.

" Do you need any help?" she stopped when a soft voice hit her eardrums. Raising her head, she saw her childhood friend, Soyeon who was leaning against the wall with her arms crossed.

" I don't know what your problem is, but I seriously wanted to help" she continued as she approached Mina and made her sit beside her. "Keeping the problem with yourself will only make it worse"

"But there's nothing you can do"

"I'll try my best. Just tell me what you want. I'm not a cold-hearted person who watches her friend live in misery"

" Soyeon, I really appreciate your offer but there's nothing you can do for me" Mina said softly.

" Seriously, what have you done that I can't do anything to help you?!" Soyeon shouted.

" Well, for your information, I killed my husband and his body is  rotting in my house! Happy?"

Mina closed her mouth with her hands when she realized she just blabbered in front of Soyeon. Great, now Soyeon is going to chase her away from the house. She raised her head and saw Soyeon looking at her with her mouth wide open.

" You-you killed your husband?" she asked. Mina hesitated but nodded a few minutes later. She was expecting Soyeon to shout at her or even try to hurt her but what she did definitely surprised her. Soyeon started walking circles in her small living room with her hands behind her.

" This is bad, This is really really bad" Soyeon said as she ran her hands on her hair. "You literally landed yourself in a big problem"

" Wait, you're not mad at me?" Mina asked Soyeon.

" Why would I?" she asked back. "If it's not for that jerk's body that is probably getting eaten by rats now, I would literally throw a party right here"

Mina opened her mouth to talk again but closed it when Soyeon continued walking in circles. Her eyes followed her, she watched Soyeon biting her fingernails with a serious expression on her face and for once she chuckled. Soyeon looks like a student taking the Collage Scholastic Ability Test.

"What are you laughing at?" Soyeon raised her head and looked at mina. Mina shook her head and stopped laughing, she really feels grateful for having a friend like Soyeon.  Soyeon sighed and continued walking while looking like she's going to solve the hardest mathematic question in the world.

A quiet atmosphere filled the air as both of the long lost best friends minded their own business. Mina sat on the old sofa and stretched her legs, ignoring Soyeon who was in her own thoughts. Suddenly, she had an idea.

" Soyeon..." she called her friend softly. She hummed in return.

" Since you really wanted to help me, why don't you get me a job? A job that is far away from here so that I can buy more time?"

Soyeon's eyes become bigger when she heard Mina's suggestion, a small gesture she always do whenever she got excited.

" I'm such a dumbass! Why didn't I thought of it earlier?!"
