Part 15
"Oh..." Jungkook found himself being a blushing mess in front of the girl. Of course he was, she just witnessed him bouncing inside the room like a lovesick girl. It may seem like nothing but it meant everything for the boy who made sure he looked nothing but cool to the girl.
"So...uhm..." Jungkook brushed his nape. "When did you got here?" he asked the girl who was rocking herself, playing with a worn out teddy bear he swore he never had in his room.
"A few minutes ago" the girl said. "You asked me to come today" she yawned, clearly showing that she was tired and sleepy. Jungkook smiled to the point he can't see anything. Coming back to his senses, he approached the girl and engulfed her into a tight bear hug.
"Angel, angel, angel" he cooed while the girl stood still, not even returning the hug. Feeling the lack of response, Jungkook let her go and ruffled his own hair. "Shall we play?"
The girl nodded, yawning again. Jungkook bounced back to his bed and crouched down to take his secret stash of a box outside. To be honest, he didn't know what to play with the girl. He was already thirteen and all of his toys were thrown away by his father a long time ago. His room had no things a normal kid like him would have, instead, his room were full of books. Not like he was complaining though. Jungkook loves reading.
As he was busy searching through the stashes of paintbrushes and oil papers to find something to play with the 10 year old girl, she wandered around the room until she was face to face with his bookshelf. Jungkook observed as she scanned through the books and tried to reach for a thick book. He quickly threw the box away and walked to the girl who was on her tippy toes now, trying to touch the book.
"Do you want it?" he asked when he was close to her. The girl flinched before turning around. "Sorry" she mumbled slowly. "I...like reading big books"
"Oh!" Jungkook was genuinely surprised to know that the girl shared the same interest as him. He slowly pushed her away and tried to reach the book, clearly knowing that he wouldn't be able to reach the book. After all, Jungkook was almost the same height as her and he always uses his chair to take books beyond his reach. However, he wanted to impress the girl and from the look she was giving him, he knew he failed miserably. The girl then walked to his dressing table, took the chair there and waddled back towards him.
"I can get it!" Jungkook shouted when the girl raised her dress, ready to climb the chair. He grabbed her shoulders and pushed her away gently, before climbing it on his own. He grabbed the book and pulled it out with difficulty, remembering reading the book once, only once because he found the story not suitable for his age and liking. He didn't remember the storyline though, since it was a long time since he read the book. Jungkook brushed away the thick coating of dust on it and read the title, only to trigger the storyline that was buried deep in a corner of his brain.
"Give it to me" the girl said, grabbing onto his pants and raising her hand high to get it.
"No!" Jungkook shouted, raising the book above his head. "This book is not suitable for your age!" There was no way he's going to give the book to her. The story had nothing but two characters acting lovey dovey with each other before the male decides to go to a war and die.
"Why?!" the girl shouted as she tried to pull the boy down. Jungkook tried to keep his balance, while trying to make sure his pants are still around his waist and the book was beyond her reach. The girl somehow lost her patience and pulled Jungkook so hard that he slipped and fell on the ground, slamming his nose hard on the marble floor. The girl snatched the book from his grips and brought it to her chest, eyeing him up and down. Jungkook groaned and rubbed his nose, glad that there was no blood oozing down his nose. He doesn't want to go through the trouble explaining his father about his quashed nose.
Jungkook looked at the girl who had a worried look in her eyes, her hands still tight around the book he dropped when falling. "I thought you said you were an angel, but you were trying to kill me just now!" Jungkook shouted, still rubbing his nose and knees that were hurting as well.
"I'm sorry!" she said before throwing the book away. "I was just excited seeing the book and...and lose control" she approached him and sat beside him, her small hands going towards his knees to massage them. Jungkook grunted and pushed her hands away.
"Don't" he whimpered in pain. "It hurts"
"I'm really sorry" the girl said, her eyes getting teary. "I was just excited and..."
"I'm not blaming you" Jungkook interrupted as he looked deep into her eyes. His eyes then landed on the book the girl left and quickly made a launch towards it. "But I'm not letting you read the book either" he smiled in victory as he squeezed the book to his chest.
The girl pouted and punched his shoulder softly to not hurt him. Her small actions made Jungkook's heart do a flip. God, are girls her age really this cute or is it only her? The girl gritted her teeth and tried to reach the book again but Jungkook merely avoided it by doing a completely unnecessary back roll, leaving her startled.
Jungkook grinned at her and stood up from the ground. Although his knees were begging him to just sit down and let them rest, he climbed the chair again and put the book at its respectful place, making the girl stomp on her feet.
"I want to read the book!" she whined, as Jungkook made no attempt to give the book back to her. Jungkook merely chuckled and reached for another book. He took it out and showed it to her face. The girl furrowed her eyebrows and grabbed the book from him.
The thick book had beauty written everywhere on the cover, jewels and feathers on the corner and a illustration of a boy at the front. There was a title written in cursive fonts and as she read them, she realized that it was the book everyone was going crazy for nowadays. She knew it because her mother told her so and promised to buy her one after saving enough money.
"You can read that" Jungkook said, climbing down carefully.
"What's the story about?" she asked, being genuinely curious. She knew the book was famous, but why? She didn't know. Is it because of it's plot, the words or simply the aesthetic cover. The boy in front of him grinned and took the book from her grips gently.
"It's a story about a peasant boy who got a dragon egg for his birthday. He goes for an adventu-"
"I'll read it" the girl smiled ear to ear, making Jungkook's heart flutter. "Il like stories with dragons"
Jungkook didn't know what made him do it but he hugged the girl again. She just seems to be huggable and she smelled good too. Jungkook kissed her nape before saying something he never thought before blurting out.
"And I like you..."

I have a feeling some readers gave up reading this book because it's going a bit too slow and my updating schedule is almost nonexistent, but please endure it for a little longer. I promise the story would get interesting in a few chapters
Oh, and sorry for the cringey filler chapter. It was supposed to be long, but it got way too long and I need to cut it into two chapters. The next chapter would be a little interesting though, a new BTS member will be introduced!
Please show this story some love by voting and commenting!
🥰🥰🥰
Okay so uhmm... I won't be able to publish any chapters for two weeks I think? Because there's going to be a week school holiday for me and it mean that my gadgets will be taken away for bonding with family purposes.
