The small girl was playing with the old smelly teddy bear she had, small chuckles escaping from her tiny mouth. Her mother who was sitting in the same room as her smiled at the cute sight in front of her.

" Y/N, come here" Mina said suddenly, breaking the quiet atmosphere in the small room. The girl obeyed. She shifted her weight to her small feet and started walking to her mother.

"Yes, mummy" she said as she dropped herself on her mother's lap, not leaving the teddy bear. Mina smiled as she wrapped her arms around her body.

" Do you want to have a new toy?" she asked after a couple of minutes. The girl stopped playing and looked at Mina with a confused face as her mind wandered around. She always wanted to have a brand new toy, especially a white teddy bear as a companion for her old bear, Lulu.

But she knew that her mother is poor and despite her age, she understands it well. Y/N shook her head slowly and smiled sweetly to her mother.

" Why not? Your toy is too old" Mina asked as she tucked her daughter's soft hair behind her ear. Y/N stayed quiet for a while, her mouth forming a cute pout. Her mother waited patiently for her daughter's answer.

Suddenly the door slammed open revealing a filthy looking man making Y/N  yelp and hug her mother tightly. She always hated the man there who claimed to be her father and whenever her eyes laid on him, she can't help but shiver in fright.  The man tried to approach them but stumbled and knocked a coffee table beside him, making the girl's blood froze in her veins at the loud sound.

" Where's my money?" the man asked as he stood up and brought his mouth to the a bottle of soju he was holding earlier.

" I-I don't have money" Mina said, making her voice as firm as she could. The man's eyes darkened when he heard the unwanted answer. His heavy footsteps made its way towards them and as fast as lightning, he grasped Y/N's arm and pulled her from her mother's protective embrace.

" Give my daughter back!!" Mina shouted desperately as she tried to pull Y/N. The man chuckled and wrapped his hands around Y/N's small neck.

" I won't let this trash go until you gave me money" he said darkly as he tighten his grip. Y/N's lips turned into dark blue as she gasped for breath.

" I really don't have money" Mina said as tears fell from her eyes. She was telling the truth, her money was given to the loan sharks who continuously threaten her to give them or her beloved child's life will be in danger.

"Please leave her alone, I'll do anything" she said, wrapping her hands around the man's right leg, her eyes never leaving her daughter. The man smirked before lifting Y/N from the floor.

"m-mumm...my" she whispered weakly. Mina  gasped when she saw her daughter's leg lifting from the floor.

" LEAVE HER!!!" she shouted at the man who chose to ignore her. Despite suffering to get some air, Y/n saw how her mother's expression changed from fear into anger as her eyes desperately searched the room. Her mother's  eyes then landed on the soju bottle the man brought with him into the room. Without thinking, she grabbed it and stabbed the man in the stomach.

The man shouted loudly before dropping Y/N and sinking to the floor. She gasped and started taking deep breaths, colors returning to her face. Her mother quickly hugged her and examined her swollen neck.

"mummy..."Y/N muttered weakly and looked behind her. 

" No sweetheart, don't look" Mina said softly, covering the girl's eyes so that she won't see the horrible sight behind her. Y/N buried her face on her chest instead and sobbed. She was scared, she thought the man was going to kill her.

The mother pulled her daughter closer and patted her back to console her. She was scared and worried, but not guilty for killing her husband. The man always abused them and make her work to get money while he wasted them buying alcohols. 

But killing him doesn't mean that she is free from all the problems, instead she put herself into a bigger problem. The man's friends will be here  as soon as they realized that he is missing and the loan sharks will arrive soon to get their debt paid.

The woman bit her lips and kissed her child's hair, her mind thinking ways to free herself from the mess she created earlier.

" We need to go" she said to her daughter suddenly.

It was raining heavily when both of them stepped outside the house that holds the worst nightmares in their life. Mina wrapped Y/N with her old clock to prevent her from getting cold.

"mummy, what about you?''  asked innocently as she snuggled closer to her teddy bear.

" I'm okay" the mother replied.

The girl smiled at her mother and started running to the rain. The cold raindrops that touched her skin was enough to make the innocent child forget the throbbing pain in her neck. Mina followed her from behind, smiling. Suddenly Y/N stopped and turned around, facing her mother.

"Mummy, where are we going?' she asked. She knew that the house holds too many dark memories for her and her mother but she can't help but wonder where they are going to live now. Her mother looked at her with her loving eyes and patted her already wet hair before answering.

" Somewhere, darling but definitely not here"

" How about father?" the girl asked again. "When will he be awa-"

" He won't be awake forever" the mother said, without looking at her child. The girl was confused, but she didn't say anything and continued walking with her mother.
