Crossing Regions

(All lyrics belong to their owners. I simply used them in this chapter.)

Serena's POV

"Flight 107 to Alola, please start boarding." A tinny voice through the speakers boom out. That's me! I grab my suitcase and head over to the bag checking area.
"So, where ya going?" The woman asks, sliding my suitcase through the scanning machine.
"Alola." I reply, tapping my nails on the side of the counter. She nods approvingly.
"Yeah? Good place, that." She smiles warily. I smile back, taking my suitcase. I board the plane, and I see Pancham looking visibly green with Sylveon looking concerned beside him.
"Hey, it's okay. We're only on this plane for 2 hours." I comfort him and give him a gentle hug before plugging my headphones into my phone to listen to "Summertime Sadness" by Lana Del Rey while the plane shakes as we propel upwards.

"Kiss me hard before you go. Summertime sadness. I just wanted you to know that baby you're the best... I got that summertime. I got that summertime. I got that summertime, summertime summertime sadness.
I'm feelin' electric tonight. Cruisin' down the coast, goin' about 99. Got my bad baby by my heavenly side. I know if I go, I'll die happy tonight..." I murmur softly, singing the lyrics halfway through the song, and closing my eyes. It's my favorite song. Whenever I listen to it, I think of my times in Kalos. All the love, laughter and tears. I don't think Ash ever actually knew how I felt, but... I'm over him now.
Who are you kidding, Serena Yvonne?

That was a lie. A total, utter lie. I still like him, though over time it might have faded. Just a smidge.

I turn my head to the window, sighing and the music switches to a different song. "Prom Queen" by Molly Kate Kestner.
"God save the Prom Queen. Teenage daydream. Just another dressed up heartbreak. God save the Prom Queen..." I think to myself as the flight attendant wheels up with a snack trolley. I look up, and pay for a small bag of salted pretzels and a soda. Sipping my fizzy drink, I look at my phone, and see my screensaver. It's a picture of me, Ash, Bonnie and Clemont. I smile at the memories, and switch my phone off.
"Braix! Braixen!" I hear my fire-type yelp and point at the window excitedly. I look over at her and press my face against the glass. I could faintly make out the shapes of buildings and markets as the clouds part.
"Ladies and gentlemen, please prepare for our landing."
"We're here!" I exclaim excitedly.

Once we land, Pancham bounds out of his seat and gasps in awe as he breathes in fresh air. I ruffle his furry head, feeling the wind in ny short blonde hair and the salty smell of the beach near the airport. As I'm taking in the atmosphere, a girl around my age pushes past me.
"Ugh, watch it, peasant!" She sneers flicking her dark hair in my disgusted face.
"Excuse me?!" I yell. She turns, obviously not expecting me to answer back.
"You heard me. Move aside. Delilah Ferns coming through." She smirks at my red-hot face. Braixen and Slyveon and Pancham growl at her, but Delilah ignores them, snapping her fingers at a man, who opens up a limo door.
This is a big place, Delilah. You do your thing, I'll do mine, okay? I say silently in my head, as she looks straight at me, still smirking as if to say,
You haven't seen the last of me, Peasant.
