Chapter 1

🎶All the other God's
They are the works of men
But you are the most high God
There is none like you
Jehovah, you are the most high
You are the most high God🎶

The sound of her mother singing in the morning wakes her up with a big smile on her face.

The sun has not shown itself yet. Here in Kworanja village they say that real women should be awake before the sun comes up.

The Kworanja village is a big village located in Africa. The people there are very nice and loving, even to strangers.

Adamma lives there with her parents and her younger brother. She's a very smart and intelligent girl.

Her parents did everything in their power to pay all of her school fees in time. Adamma did not disappoint her parents, because when she came back, she came back as a college graduate.

She studied Chemistry in Lagos and came out as the best student of the year.

She is very ambitious and she dreams big. Her biggest dreams are to get into the business world and to make her own perfume someday.

Too bad things like that are 80 percent impossible where she's from. So she's stuck to helping her parents at home and in the farm.

Her father is one of the best hunters in the village and her mother is the daughter of a great farmer.

Adamma is known by most of the villagers, because of her kindness and willingness to help others without asking for something in return.

She has a great sense of humor and loves to make people laugh.

"Ah mama. Good morning" Adamma greets her mother who is busy cutting firewood.

"Adamma, my daughter. Good morning. I hope you slept well" replies her mother.

"I am well rested mama. This way you are singing this morning, I hope all is well ooh. These overjoyed mornings of yours are becoming very suspicious" Adamma jokes.

"Oh my daughter. Is a woman not allowed to be happy again?" She laughs.

"Of course mama. Of course. Shall I help you chop the firewood?"

"No thank you. But can you fetch some water from the stream? Today we need more water than we normally do. Remember we're having some visitors and you need to show them around the village"

"Okay mama. I'll go fetch the water before breakfast. Then I'll worry about the rest. Where is papa?"

"Your father went to check on his traps to see if he caught something. I hope he has"

"I hope he catches something. My stomach would gladly welcome some Bush meat for lunch and diner" says Adamma rubbing her stomach playfully.

Her mother laughs and sends her off to fetch the water after forcing her to eat a banana. The path to the stream and back is 1.5 kilometres long.

Normally she walks the path twice in the morning and twice after lunch or in the evening time, but today she will have to walk the path six times.

Adamma is not the lazy type of girl or one that complains about having to work. She loves doing her daily duties as a woman and at the same time she is preparing herself for her future husband.

After breakfast she washes the dishes and goes to see her friends, since she doesn't have to go to the farm today.

She wants to ask her friends to accompany her while she gives their visitors a tour through the village.

An old friend of Adamma's father is sending his two children from America to their village for a new experience.

The man had lived in that same village for two years before returning to America. During his stay in Kworanja village he and Adamma's father became the best of friends.

Adamma is very excited to meet them and she vows to give her father's visitors a great time.

All her friends agree to accompany her except one.

David who is her best friend has to go somewhere with his father, so he could not come.

He's like a brother to Adamma and they spend a lot of time together.

Adamma and her friends are now sitting outside under a tree, waiting for the visitors from America to arrive.

After a while they see two big fancy cars, of which they don't know the names, drive into the compound.

Adamma's heart is going wild from the excitement of meeting American people for the first time in her life.

This will be one of her many dreams come true and she can't wait to officially meet them and hear their American accents.
