The week went by quickly and soon it was Friday. So far, the school had been okay to Mimi, though other students didn't interact with her but she could consider Dera and Tife friends, they never made her feel like the outcast she was and they'd even introduced her to their other friend; Tomiwa who was in Lara's class and was also Christy's boyfriend, main reason Christy had greeted her with scowls throughout the week, not like she cared though.

"So, I have your mid term test result with me now," Miss Miracle announced and noise filled the whole class.

"When you're done making noise, you can check where you stand on the notice board," and with that she strutted to the back of the class where the notice board was and pasted the results.

Miss Miracle walked back to the front of the class, "So, I guess you all know your stand now, Christian, good job as always, and this time Benita came second, Alex, I think you should fasten your seat belt because she displaced you, you're now in the same position with Christy, with that being said, others I hope you'll improve by the end of the term, good day!"

Noise filled the class immediately she walked out as they all rushed to the notice board to check their results. Mimi's eyes only scattered around the class as she watched other students discussing about their result, she and Lola didn't sit down for the tests so far they resumed late.

"Please pass me the chocolate," Mimi heard Dera say as she walked to her seat.

Mimi stretched her hand to pick the chocolate before giving it to Dera who thanked her.

"Eating again?" Tife queried in a mocking tone while Dera pouted.

"I need something sweet to quench my foul mood."

Tife chuckled, "You always need something sweet, right Mimi?"

Mimi nodded in accordance while Dera eyed her. From the few days they'd spent together, she'd come to realize Dera's mouth always had the movement of food mostly snacks.

"When all you do is eat, why won't you be in a foul mood?" Tife mocked and Dera hissed.

"My name appeared last on the list again," she said in a bitter tone while Tife resisted the urge to laugh.

"Don't worry, you still have the exam," She pacified and Dera pursed her lips before turning back to Mimi.

"Today is for sports and recreation, which sports did you apply for?"

Picking up her pen and jotter, she answered:

Football and dancing

"What!" They both shouted in unison.

"Why would you join football? That sport is so boring and it's for boys," Dera uttered in distaste.

"And dancing? It's certain you can't enjoy it because of Christy, she's always bossing everyone around, she thinks she's the only best dancer," Tife added and Mimi nodded as she tried digesting their words.

The sound of the bell interrupted her thoughts before she looked at Dera who was now on her feet.

"We always have a combined class on Friday, only for either Maths or English, today is for English and then sports, so, right now, I have to…"

"Run along because your crush will be around and you need to grab his attention," Tife completed and Dera revealed her teeth in a toothy grin, she picked up her book and ran out of the class while Mimi turned to Tife with a questioning look.

"She's head over heels for that guy, he's in your sister's class, you won't believe Dera has been going on with this hopeless crush since JSS1, funniest thing, the guy doesn't even know she exists," she ended it with a shrill laughter while Mimi smiled.

"Let's go, I'll show you the guy when we get to the hall," she rose to her feet while Mimi nodded before taking her things, then they sauntered to the hall.

*****************

"Why did you stand up during the class? And to think you joined that mute girl on her seat, Hmm?" Michael queried and Christian scoffed.

"I couldn't stand your nonsense, you guys were practically having sex in the class," he replied with disgust evident in his voice while Michael chuckled.

"See the way you said it as if it's a bad thing," Laiq said as he closed his locker.

"Well, it's a nice thing then, fingering a girl during class is a great thing and to think the girl was actually enjoying it is just so irritating," Christian responded as he removed his shirt.

Michael and Laiq shared a look.

"You'll be doing like one innocent boy there," Laiq accused and Christian ignored them.

"But then, why did you go that mute girl's seat? Is it what I'm thinking? You know how Inaya is when she gets angry oo," Michael uttered and Christian threw his shirt at him.

"Stop thinking nonsense, it was the only available seat," he explained and his friends exchanged doubtful looks.

"Hmm, hmm," Michael commented and Christian frowned at them.

"I'm off to the pool," he announced as he walked away without waiting for their response.

**************

"What are you doing here?" Christy asked with aversion laced in her tone as she eyed Mimi who was standing by the door.

"Oh, I've forgotten you can't talk, I think you missed your way, this is the dance room," she clarified while Mimi only stared at her.

"And she just joined the dance class," Tife announced as she walked into the dance studio.

An hint of surprise flashed through Christy's eyes before it soon changed into a frown, "Why would she join the dance class?"

"You can ask her, she'll explain in the next few years, it's good to be patient," and with that she walked out of the dance studio but not without smiling at Mimi who smiled in return.

"How did you get into this class? Can you dance because there's no way you could be accepted? Did my mom help with this too?" She queried and Mimi only stared at her.

"Gosh, conversing with a mute is really annoying," she spat before storming out of the studio.

Mimi looked around the studio in awe before she felt the urge to pee. On getting to the toilet, it was somehow empty until she started hearing sounds from the other stall.

"Do you expect me not to write anything just because I want to please my boyfriend," Mimi heard a voice say and she decided to eavesdrop on the conversation.

"Of course you can't, to think I even decided to consider you but you're still the poor girl trying to fit into the world of the rich," a male voice replied and Mimi creased her brows. Why would a male be in the female's toilet?

"You don't have to keep reminding me that I'm poor, it's something I'm aware of, the fact that I got admitted into this school with your dad's help doesn't give you the liberty to keep on harassing me," she retorted and the guy chuckled.

"Just bear it in mind that if you don't behave yourself, you might lose the scholarship," he threatened and Mimi could hear some sniffs, probably from the girl.

"Must you always make me feel bad? Am I responsible for your predicament? Your best isn't enough for your dad, so? How does that concern me?"

"Because you're the main problem, I hate it when he compares me to you, before you came to the school, I was among the top but you shattered everything!" He yelled and Mimi flinched at the intensity of his tone.

"Well sorry about that but there's nothing I can do."

Mimi heard the sound of the door and she quickly peeped through the hole.

"You don't dare walk out on me!" The boy shouted and Mimi's eyes widened at the event playing before her.

The guy had placed his legs on the way and that made the girl miss her steps which in turn made her hit her forehead on the sink before eventually falling on the tiled floor with a loud thud.

The blood that oozed out her head sent shivers down Mimi's spine as her eyes doubled its size, she watched the guy stare at the girl's body with a tugging smile before he looked around the toilet and that made Mimi see his face, her eyes almost popped out of its socket on seeing who it was.

He walked out of the toilet and Mimi stayed in her stall for some minutes trying to get over the shock, as she attempted to open the door and walk out, some students walked into the toilet and screamed upon seeing the almost lifeless body of the girl in a pool of blood.

It didn't take long before the cleaners and some teachers arrived at the scene, till the girl was carried away, Mimi still stayed in the stall, it wasn't until she realized everywhere was quiet without any sign of anybody did she go back to the class.

She knew she wouldn't be in her right state of mind to attend dance lessons or football practice so she decided to stay back in the empty class, other students had gone for their various activities, Mimi placed her head on her table as her mind kept on drifting to what she'd witnessed earlier.

Throughout the day she wasn't herself as her mind kept on replaying the whole scene. She couldn't tell anyone and it kept on plaguing her mind, her only option was to keep mute about the whole thing and forget it ever happened.

Can anyone guess who the boy is?
Do you think Mimi will remain silent about the matter?
Don't forget to vote and comment.
