"Good news," Christy screamed as she barged into her twin brother's room, Christian who had been painting earlier on, he swirled his chair to face her.
"I don't think you've ever heard the word knocking," he said in a way to frown at her actions but Christy only gave a dismissive wave of her palm before jumping on his bed.
"Get up from bed," he shouted while standing up from his chair.
"I have my bed too and it's prettier than yours so it's nothing to whine about," she told him, and he scoffed before joining her on the bed.
"So, what's the good news you're screaming about?" He fixed his gaze on her in anticipation and her face broke into a grin.
"Finally, dad agreed."
He lifted his brows, "Agreed on what?"
"To make us go in separate cars, nothing like van again, huh, I can't even imagine myself with those girls, a whole me, and to top it, we can now go in separate cars, I'll go in my car now, likewise you too," she explained quickly that he had to listen patiently to grasp all she'd said. Apparently, she was estatic about the whole thing.
"Wow, that's great, are you sure it's not in your dreams or something?" He teased and she eyed him.
"Maybe in your dream but in my own real life."
He chuckled, "But how did you do it?"
She pushed her lips together and raised her chin, "You don't need to know my secret."
Christian wanted to roll his eyes, but he couldn't, "Stop feeling so high."
Christy did what he couldn't do as she rolled her eyes, good thing they weren't that big, it would have been a disaster, "I'm a queen, so, I need to feel myself."
"Just because everyone worships you in school doesn't make you a queen," he fired, and she scoffed before readjusting her sitting position.
"What does it make me? A king abi?" She eyed him and he chuckled.
"But are you sure Mummy agreed to this new change? I don't want an earthquake in this house oo, you know how eccentric she is," he voiced out his fears and Christy erupted into laughter.
"No matter what, dad still has her wrapped around his fingers," she finally replied after laughing for like forever.
Christian nodded, "That's good news then, but then, how did it happen in the space of how many minutes, we just got back from the dinner an hour ago and you've been able to convince dad into doing your bidding and even mum."
A big smile graced her lips, "Perks of being a queen."
"This is the part I wish I could roll my eyes."
Christy laughed, "You can learn the acts from me, I won't charge you much."
"Like you need any money."
Christy raised her palm, "Oh, please, I need money oo, let me go and call Mirabel and inform her about the good news."
Christian sighed, "But you just saw her an hour ago."
She shrugged in response, "And so? The news must start travelling now, Maple students should anticipate their queen's arrival tomorrow, others will be flaunting new bags and shoes they got from the break while I'll flaunt my brand-new car as I'm always ahead of them."
Christian sneered, "Like they don't have cars too."
Christy raised her brows, "Mine is always better, which of the cars should I even choose?" She placed her index finger on her lips while looking around his room as if the cars were scattered in there.
"Let me go to the garage, I need to pick a car and inform dad before you and Cherry start nonsense tomorrow morning," she said as she got down from his bed and slid her legs into her flip-flops.
Christian shook his head before going back to his chair to resume his painting, just as he picked his brush, he heard the sound from his door and Christy turned back to him, "Mind you it's part of our sixteenth birthday gift from dad."
Christian puckered his brows, "Our birthday was last month remember?"
She raised her hand in half shrug," Dad didn't give us any reasonable gift remember?"
"But mom threw a party for you, I could remember how you were screaming the sweet sixteen party around and dad made sure mom turned your party into an elaborate one."
"The car is the main birthday gift, that reminds me, Mirabel's sweet sixteen is next month, wow," she rushed out of the room without waiting for his response while Christian only chuckled, he knew Mirabel's sweet sixteen would be just as elaborate as Christy's one. They were both social geeks who loved parties a lot but not more than their passions though.

"Do you want to spend a lifetime dressing?" Lola bellowed as she walked into their room for the second time that morning.
Lara turned back to look at her sister, "You're the one who got up earlier than expected, I still find it hard to believe the one that doesn't like going to school is excited about this new school."
Lola smiled, "Of course I'll be excited about this," her eyes raked through her twin sister's body and another beatific smile appeared on her face.
Lara was looking lovely in their new school uniform; a blue and white striped shorts, striped blazer with the same colour and pastel white top, the uniform style alone was fascinating and unique, the first time they'd all seen it, it came off as a shock to realize they'll be wearing shorts and not gowns or skirts like other schools. Maple was the only school in the country in which their girls wear shorts.
"Oya, let's go oo," Fara's loud voice came from the door and Lola dashed out of the room without bothering to wait for her sister. Not quite long, Lara joined the others in the living room before their mother came over for her speech.
"Hope you have a nice first day at school," Sindara said after them as they all traipsed out of the house, a smile appeared on her face as she watched them enter the car, she stayed outside till they were out of sight.
"Gosh, I'm nervous and excited," Fara turned to Mimi who was right beside her while Lola was by her left, Lara had decided to take the front seat.
Mimi nodded in response, she wasn't really excited about the whole thing but was rather anxious, she'd been that way since Lara told her they were resuming at Maple and the fears had been consuming her.
"Me too," Lola shouted before clutching Fara's hand, they went on about their excitement while Mimi shut her ears as she pondered on her fate in the new school.
Not too long, they finally got to the prestigious Maple International school judging from the bill board erected from the road till they got to the big gate that had the school's name and logo designed on it.
"Wow," the girls except Mimi marvelled in awe as the driver swerved into the wide car park that had several cars parked in it.
Mimi's eyes wandered through her surroundings, the school was a wide and large one, judging from the look of it, it would be several acres of land, it was a quiet, neat and serene environment and the main school was still a few walks away from the car park, she could only see the towering of the buildings.
"Hi girls," a voice greeted and that made Mimi tear her gaze from her surroundings.
"Good morning ma," the girls greeted and the lady smiled at them. Mimi rembered her as someone Madam Lisha introduced to them the previous day.
"Since you're here, let me take you to the principal's office," Miracle offered before leading the girls to the admin block.
"See how the grass is beautiful," Lola admired as they walked through the pathway between the carpet grasses that led to the main school buildings.
Almost a minute later, they got to a bungalow building painted in white and blue that had 'Administration block' inscribed on it in block form, from there they could view other buildings in blue and white paintings too. The first room had Principal written on it, Miracle knocked gently before a flat voice came from behind the door, opening the door quietly, she walked in before waving at the kids to follow her.
"Good morning ma," Miracle curtsied and the woman smiled warmly at her.
"Morning, Miss Miracle," Mrs Ayoola replied as her eyes trailed to the figures behind Miracle.
"Good morning ma," the girls greeted in unison, and she nodded in response with her smile not wavering, Miracle decided to do the introduction.
"They're the new students' aunt Lisha told you about," Miracle explained before they all went on to do the introductions and the normal new school talk.
"I'll lead you to your classes," Miracle offered as they all walked out of the principal's office about half an hour later. She did some introductions while heading to their various classes as the girls only looked around in awe.
"And this is the science class," Miracle halted her walk in front of SS2 Special. She wanted to progress in her talk but the voice of a familiar teacher stopped her.
"Good morning, miss Miracle," Mrs Williams greeted with a wide smile on her face, she was the class teacher of SS2 Special and the Geography teacher.
"Good morning ma, I brought some new students over," Miracle replied with a reverent smile.
"Oh," she nodded before her eyes trailed over to the girls who offered their greetings instantly.
"Lara is in science right?" Miracle queried and Lara replied in affirmative.
"I'm your new class teacher, let's get you settled in," Mrs Williams announced as she stepped into the class while Lara hurried after her.
SS2 unique being the commercial class was after the sciences, after Miracle settled Fara into the class, she led Mimi and Lola to the arts class which was the last class on the block.
"And this is the arts class, SS2 Peculiar, I'm your class teacher," she pushed the door open.
Lola and Mimi shared a look before following her into the class, immediately they set foot into the class, all eyes were plugged on them. Mimi felt her legs go weak at their intense gaze but decided to brush it off.
"So, class, we have new students amongst us," Miracle announced and mumbles filled the class, it was rare to have next students just after the mid term break in second term.
"Please introduce yourself."
Lola opened her mouth to do the introduction but the noise from the entrance stopped her.
"Are you blind?" Christy bellowed as she eyed Inaya warily, she'd stepped on her, she never liked her one bit even though she was her twin brother's girlfriend.
Inaya rolled her eyes, "Oh please, you were the one walking like you own the whole school."
Christy shrugged, "So, I don't own the school? Is that how small your brain is?"
Inaya rolled her eyes again. It was true that Christy's grandparents were the founder of the school likewise many other business so they were the most powerful students in Maple.
"Christy that's okay," Christian who had been quiet since the display talked and Christy scoffed, she glared at her brother before walking into the class.
"Mira...Miss Miracle good morning," Christy greeted as a grin took over her angry face at the sight of her cousin. She wanted to shout Miracle as she fondly called but since they were in school, and she was her class teacher, protocol demanded respect.
Miracle was the first daughter of her mom's younger sister, Aunt Nikki, and she was Mirabel's older sister.
"Morning Christy," she replied the same time Inaya and Christian greeted her, after they sauntered to their various seats, Miss Miracle turned back to Mimi and Lola.
"So, you can go on with your introduction," she permitted and Lola nodded.
"I'm Omolola Ayebiwo."
"Is that all about you?" One of the students shouted.
Lola blinked twice before talking, "I'm sixteen years old, I transferred from…" her voice trailed off as she looked at the eyes of about eighteen students fixed on her, she sucked in her breath before progressing, "From Tafia Comprehensive School."
"What type of school is that?" Another student queried.
"It's a public school in the mainland," Christy announced as she dropped her phone on the table, she'd just googled the school.
Noises emanated from the class at this and Miracle shut them up but that didn't stop them from throwing disgusting looks at Lola who didn't feel as confident as she felt before.
"Now, let's move on to the next person," Miracle pointed at Mimi who'd been looking down at her shiny shoes all along.
She looked up gently only to be met with the anticipating gazes of her new classmates if she could call them that.
Lola moved closer to her, "Umm, she's Mimisola Ayebiwo, my cousin same age and also transferred from my old school."
"Are you her mouthpiece? Can't she talk?" Inaya shouted and Lola resisted the urge to glare at her, from the showdown Inaya had with Christy and with Christian siding her, Lola knew she surely wouldn't be in a friendly position with Inaya.
"She can't talk, she's mute," she finally opened up after some seconds.
Another myriad of noise filled the whole class as grumbles and talks came from different angles of the class.
"That's enough," Miss Miracle cautioned and silence overshadowed the noise. They all respected and loved her so it was easy for her to control the class.
"Lola, you can go sit there, there's an empty seat behind Christy and Mimi, you can go there," she pointed at the place and Christy quickly objected.
"That's Rissa's seat."
Another student objected to the place Mimi was asked to go, "It's Tife's seat too."
Miracle sighed, "There's no empty seats then, let them stay first and I'll inform the admin for new seats," and with that she sauntered out of the class making the noise resume.
Mimi walked to the place Miss Miracle had pointed to with her head bowed, she couldn't bring herself to look into the eyes of her new classmates whose gaze didn't leave her, it wasn't until she banged smack into someone coming the other way did she look up.
"Are you blind too?"
