When I got home, Craig was sitting on the couch leaning forward with his head in his hands and the TV off.
When I closed the door behind me, his head shot up.
"Tweek," he started, his voice shaky, "I didn't think you were coming home."
"S-Surprise?"
Neither of us laugh and I don't move from my spot at the door.
"Clyde told me-"
"I was looking-"
We both stop and I feel my face heat up, "I t-talked to Clyde earlier..." I say.
I don't look at Craig. He doesn't say anything for a moment, "Did he... tell you anything?"
Craig doesn't think he can talk to me or trust me anymore because I've been so flaky and emotional instead of being a good friend. I need to reassure him that regardless of anything and everything, I'll always be there for him.
I look up at Craig, whose eyes catch mine before he looks away.
"Craig," I take a step forward and he turns back to me, "I w-want you to know that I'm here for you. I-I know you a-are going through a rough time r-right now, and you should know that I-I want to help you."
Craig smiles shakily as his eyes gloss over, "Tweek- I... thank you..."
Craig stands up and walks toward me, stopping out of reach.
"I'm sorry-" we both say at the same time.
My face flushes, "I'm sorry I've been s-such a bad friend."
"You haven't been," He says taking another step toward me, but hesitantly stopping, "I've been a dick to you. I'm the only one who should be apologizing. I'm sorry."
"It's o-"
"It's not okay. You shouldn't feel bad that I was pushing you away and being a dick-"
I step forward and wrap my arm around his waist burying my face in his chest, "Shut up."
