"So after I told him he was out of the band," Tyler pauses to laugh. He has the most beautiful laugh you've even heard. It's so vibrant. So full of life. He didn't bring his uke today, but that's okay. His laughter is music to your ears anyway. "He got mad at me and wouldn't talk to me for like, a week."

You smile and your shoulders shake in silent laughter.

Tyler's laughter dies down a bit, but he's still smiling. "Eventually he just got too lonely and gave in and texted me."

You smile. Tyler has been telling you stories about his best friend Josh and their band all day.

"We're just starting out, but people around here seem to like us," Tyler says sheepishly. He shrugs. "I don't see what's so special. I just sing what I have to say, you know? As a way to just..." Tyler looks out at the park and twists his mouth. "Escape from my own brain, if that's possible."

You nod. You understand. You definitely understand.

Tyler turns to you and cocks his head to the side. His eyes are squinting in the sunlight. "Do you wanna come to our show tonight?" He asks.

You look back at him and smile.
