(Just over one hundred years ago)

There was an alpha, Kim Taemin.

He was known to be one of the best the pack had ever seen so far. Always described as strong, brave, loyal and honest also not to mention very handsome. He could have his pick of any girl but all he wanted was his true mate, the one that was destined to be by his side forever and love until death but sadly as years went by he couldn't find his mate.

Soon enough he gave up trying to even find his true mate and stuck to his duties in looking after his pack as an alpha should do, just without his Luna. The lone Alpha is what others outside the pack would call him and some would think of him as weak because of this but he was far from weak and showed anyone inside the pack or outside just how untrue that was.

Even with the love of his people, it kept him going through the lonely years, even to watch his younger brother Yeonjun find his mate and go through the tradition of the mating ceremony and live their lives together. He loved his brother and thought of his sister in law as a sister of his own but he couldn't help but still feel jealous for what they had but that didn't stop him from also feeling happy for them.

He started to believe that he was probably destined to be alone but one day....that changed.

Taemin was out patrolling the borders as he did every morning and night. First he picked up a scent that made him excited and felt drawn to it but couldn't quite pin point where it was coming from. Until he heard that screeching scream fill his ears through the trees. It caused him great pain and he dropped to his knees at the sound. He never heard anything like it and to only last seconds did the screaming stop and he rushed across the border to follow the scent that grew stronger for the longer he ran. Something inside him was telling him to be ready for what was to come next, that what he's about to find will change everything.

And it did.

The moment he found that woman, laying on the forest floor curled up with her eyes closed in her unconscious state did he realise straight away who she was to him. She was the most beautiful woman he had ever laid eyes on. Clearly she wasn't from around here, she was of different race to him but he didn't care, she was gorgeous in his eyes and vowed there and then to protect her. In the first deed to protect her he sought action to pick her up from the cold floor and take her home but he did not let anyone near her. As far as he was aware this woman in his arms was his, no one was to touch her or even look at her. Taemin wanted her all to himself and as he finally reached his home, he laid her comfortably on his bed and watched over her as she slept.

She only woke up hours later, introduced herself as Aileen but wrote her name down for him as he came to learn she was a mute.

Aileen could not speak but that didn't faze Taemin one bit, he still saw her as the most precious thing to ever walk the earth and as for Aileen it was love at first sight. She knew as soon as she laid eyes on that man that the two were destined to be together.

She had a serious moment with him, explaining how she had come to find his pack, something telling her of what is to happen due to dreams she had been having since arriving in the country. She was scared for him, for his people. That part she didn't say but she didn't have to as Taemin soon enough and somehow as they bonded more, grew to understand what she would mean, what she would think and how she could feel as if she was telling him everything but with no words. As if he could read her mind when in reality he couldn't.

No one could explain it but everyone would speak of how strong their bond was. It was powerful and over time everyone grew to love Aileen as she became one of them, part of the pack as one big family. Though it didn't come with out the bad parts of her stay at the pack.

As days would pass Aileens nightmares and screams through the night became more and more frequent and Taemin already knowing of what this could mean already seeked action in being prepared for what is to come.

He didn't want anyone of his pack members to die and he would do anything to protect them. Taemin would order more warriors and hunters of his pack to stay alert and patrol the borders more than usually routine. Of course Taemin would join them in case something were to happen, even if it meant spending a few hours away from his mate, he wasn't going to leave his men to fend for themselves.

He's no coward is what he would tell himself.

Taemin did this for weeks until one night Aileen couldn't stop screaming meaning death was to come and very soon that fateful night.

When she stopped, there was an attack from a group of rogues that planned to take down the pack due to it's reputation to be one of the strongest. The leader of the group wanted to surprise them and take down this pack and kill Taemin to take over the pack as his own. But when the rogue leader heard the screams and knew what this was, he was angry that his surprise was ruined and planned to kill the very woman that destroyed his plans.

Because Taemin and his pack were prepared of what was to come, many of the rogues died, more than the pack members. Fuelled by rage the leader ignored the Alpha Taemin and went on his way to find the banshee woman.

She needed to go first and then he was to deal with the alpha later.

After searching many houses in the small village of people, fighting his way through the many people that came his way through the chaos did he storm his way to the alphas house as it was the biggest out of all of them. If this was his house then that woman he was searching for had to be inside and when he charged inside he found her.

She was hiding in the bedroom closet and didn't waste in time in beating her, having a little fun before he actually killed her but was stopped when a certain man, Taemin sensed his mate was in danger and rushed to her back at his house. Ignoring everyone and anything around him. His mate was in danger and that's all that mattered at that moment.

Taemin seeing the state of his love, raged him, he became blinded by anger and couldn't think properly which led to his mistake. The leader of the rogues got the better of him and eventually after fighting and destroying the house in the process did they find themselves outside for all to see, but sadly for Taemin in that one weak moment when he noticed his mate stumble out the house due to her injuries did the leader seek an opportunity and snapped the alphas neck, making it look so easily but with the force the leader had to use to do the action, in return he broke his own wrist and dislocated his shoulder.

The man looked at it as a small sacrifice to get want he wants and that meant because he killed the alpha, by rights he was the next alpha.

But sadly for him, that was short lasting as the moment Taemins neck was snapped, Aileen with seeing the love of her life die in front of her did she scream, but not her usually scream it was the scream of a broken hearted woman mourning her love.

That scream gained the attention of Kim Yeonjun. Taemins younger brother. With him across the pack lands fighting his own battles did he feel the lose of connection to his brother as well as the loud scream of Aileen echo through the woods.

Yeonjun changed to wolf form, vengeance on his mind, the death of the killer to his older brother couldn't come fast enough and with the attacker, the leader of the rogues distracted by his stupidity as he gloats about his victory with his back turned but deaf by the screams of Aileen. Did the leader meet his fate and by fate, that meant the death by Yeonjuns jaws.

Yeonjun didn't waste any time in the attack and jumped on his to tear out his flesh by the mans neck to then chew down until their was a crunch and the leaders head was torn off.

The moment the leader died, Yeonjun could feel the strength of an alpha fill his body and soul but he didn't want it. Not like this, it belonged to his brother who's body was now cradled by his distraught mate who refused to let him go.

Yeonjun couldn't do anything but howl in to the sky in mourn of his brother. Every wolf left alive in the pack that was in wolf form howled in return to honour their alpha that was dearly loved and respected but had sadly passed on.

Aileen, all while holding her love in her arms, vowed she would meet him again and they would share the life they so desperately dreamed of. She knew there would be death here but she never could of imagined it were to be the love of her life.

"We'll meet again, my love." Aileen

She would repeat in her mind, praying to the goddess that is not her own but prayed either way that one day she would allow them to meet and have that dream they always wanted.

To grow old together.
