A rumbles in the skies

The thudding of my heart

A whip of lightning

A crack of sound

Shaking the foundations

A mighty rumble

Quickly dissipating

Only to strike again

Quaking in bed

Shivering with fear

Hiding under the covers

But cannot escape

Boom!

An instant of noise

Lasting forever

Only but a second

A distant rumble

It's finally over

Moving away

Only to come back another day
