Clock Strikes Twelve
-Never stop looking at pumpkins with that hopeful glimmer in your eye
They say dreams break
As the clock strikes twelve
And what they say must be true
So I refused
To dream only if they are meant to break
And so I kept
The carriage waiting
At the front of my door
The fairy's knocks went unheard
And soon after her wand was nowhere in sight
The glass slipper too, fell apart
Before its time
And all this while
I huddled away in the attic
Too scared to dream.
Not knowing that the spell
Which was never cast
Wasn't ever meant to break
that the the clock never actually will
strike twelve
And as I lay there
On the floor with my doubts
And with my dreams in the dust
They danced on and on
In the dream that was meant to be mine...
Laughing
Laughing about how they lied
