Regina George (Mean Girls) +~Fluff~+

Requested?: nah I'm just gay and into Halloween.

Title: Couples Costume

(y/n)'s POV

I was peacefully doing calculus homework when I heard a huge thud coming from my window. I looked up, seeing my best friend, adorned in a pink crop-top, ripped black skinny jeans, and bright pink sneakers, and decorated in gold accessories standing on my lawn. I rolled my eyes before opening the window.

"Yes, Ina?" I called. Ina was my nickname for her, since I thought it sounded pretty when we met back in the third grade. It still holds up, to be perfectly fair.

"I'm coming in, I have a prank idea," She announced, letting herself in my front door. She didn't need to throw rocks at my window for that, she could have just walked in or sent me a text. But I guess Regina wouldn't be my bestie if she weren't the most extra person on the planet.

She barged the door behind me, and I turned around slowly in my spinning office chair (that I loved with my whole heart and then some).

"What's the prank idea, Ina?" I asked dryly. This was always our relationship, witty banter and suffocating amounts of sarcasm.

"Okay, so you know how everyone knows that we're best friends and both lesbians so they ship us?" She asked enthusiastically, as if it wasn't brought to my attention 1,000 times a day.

"Yeah?" I quirked an eyebrow at her.

"Gretchen's having a Halloween party, and I was thinking that we could go in some dorky couple's costume and have a "gotcha!" moment when they think that we're madly in love or whatever." I gave a half smile at her. I mean, it's not like I wasn't madly in love with her, but she didn't need to know that.

"Why exactly would we want to lead them on?" I leaned toward her, cocking my head to the side. She rolled her eyes as if it was the most obvious thing in the world.

"Because, (n/n), it'll be fun! Learn to live a little!" She came up to me, shaking my shoulders playfully.

"It'll just end up weird because people will think that we're dating. Even more than normal,"

"Then let them think that! It'll be fun!" She kicked my ankle softly, standing over me. I looked up at her, with her long blonde locks brushing my forehead and her blue eyes boring into my soul. I felt the tiniest bit of heat build up in the apples of my cheeks, tingling and burning ever so slightly.

"Why, do ya want them to think we're dating?" I teased her, kicking her shin in retaliation.

"I'm just saying, I think it'll be funny," She said, but something wasn't right. Her typical air of confidence faltered for a minute, and there was a different light in her face that had intensified. It gave me a little hope.

"Jesus, fine. What about we go as Bonnie and Clyde? It's dorky, fun, and still relatively recognizable," I conceded, and she excitedly pulled me up to face level. We looked at each other for a few seconds before she hugged me.

"Thank God you agreed, this'll be so fun! Now, are you Bonnie or Clyde?" She squealed after pulling away, still standing over me with our faces closer together.

"I'll do Clyde. That way you won't be too off brand with a long dress and red lipstick. I'm sure you'll look gorgeous," I winked at her. I surely wasn't lying, she looked absolutely killer in anything from a hoodie and skinny jeans to a full on evening gown. And I'd seen both multitudes of times because she was extra and gay.

"Alright! Now, I ought to get home to get our costumes ready, I'll get it to you a couple days before Halloween. Toot-a-loo!" She winked and without a second thought climbed out my window and climbed down the wall.

I genuinely had no clue how she could do that, but it's how she always left my house, that fucking weirdo.

I turned my chair back to my homework, but I really was super bored with calculus and didn't particularly understand the material. It was due on Monday and it was Friday evening anyway, I could do it tomorrow. Or Sunday. Or at lunch on Monday, because calc was my last class of the day.

I looked out my window in time to see Regina walking away. She always walked to my house, despite owning a nice car and knowing full well how to drive. Maybe it was because it was a nice day, especially for mid October. Maybe she wanted to exercise, with how obsessed she is with always looking her best, especially after the whole thing with the Kalteen Bars.

Thinking about it, I was pretty happy that Caddy had destroyed Regina and brought down her reign of terror. She and I were best friends, even closer than we are now, but it all changed once she started to get really pretty and popular. She left me in the dust for Gretchen and Karen, who're definitely nice girls, but I was always jealous.

I wanted to be with her, even as just friends, and it had hurt to see Regina take priority in someone who obviously liked her. I even thought she and Gretchen were secretly dating for a while, and maybe they were.

Regina started hanging out with me when she got abandoned by the Plastics, and at first I was really hurt and bitter. She'd shattered my trust, after all. But then I was there for her, and we got closer again. Things between us are still kind of fragile, and it'll take ages to get to where we once were.

But the thing is, I think we can do it. And it helps that I was just a little bit in love with her the entire time, since we were 12. But pining is unhealthy, so I've always kept it all on the down low.

And maybe now, she could like me back. Why else would she have wanted to do a couples costume? We never did that when we were little or our young teenage selves. Maybe she could like me. Maybe, sort of?

I needed to get back to my math.

Regina's POV

I finished applying my red lipstick for my Bonnie costume, and looked myself in the mirror. I definitely looked good, you could say. I knew that I looked good, everyone told me every day that I did. But tonight, I was really hoping (y/n) would notice. I mean, I had a hopeless crush on her for months, since she was kind enough to take me back into her life even after I'd been awful to her and everyone.

But tonight wasn't about that. It was just a Halloween party, and nothing was going to happen because (y/n) didn't see me in that light. And even if she did, I'd have to make multiple moves before she'd let herself flirt openly. She was always pretty anxious and scared of ruining her relationships with people, which was sweet yet currently inconvenient.

I looked myself over again, pulling on some simple black heels since I couldn't find what Bonnie was supposed to be wearing as footwear, plus they made my ass look fantastic. Like damn, if I wasn't me I'd hit that.

Then I heard the doorbell ring and knew it was my Clyde waiting for her Bonnie at the door. I grabbed a simple black purse filled with all the necessities I could possibly need tonight and scurried down the stairs to see my mom and (y/n) chatting at the door.

(y/n) looked stunning in a boxy brown suit with a matching fedora, bright red tie, and black flats.

She looked over to me with a smile.

"Bonnie Parker, you're looking as beautiful as ever," She said in a bad Southern accent I gave a little smile.

"As to you, Clyde Barrow," I said in a Transatlantic accent, giving a little curtsy. Her grin grew, and I glanced over to my mom who looked like she was going to say something.

"Well, you two crazy kids have fun, and don't get drunk enough that you can't tell the Uber driver where to come. And (y/n), you're welcome to stay the night if you get tipsy," She offered. Good, she wasn't too embarrassing this time around.

"We'll do that, by now," I told her, ushering (y/n) out with an arm around her waist like the smooth bitch I was. I glanced over at her once we got out the door and saw how the apples of her cheeks were tinged with a soft pink. Was that because of me, or because of it being a bit chilly out here? I hoped it was the first one, but it was probably the second.

"So, I'm driving to and from, because you know I hate drinking and getting drunk." She said as we got to her beat up old car, opening the passenger seat door for me. I curtsied again and climbed in gracefully before she shut it and ran over to the other side to get in.

She started the car, promptly turning the heat on. She was wearing a multiple layer suit and she was the one who needed the heat on. She was always cold, which was weird because I was always hot. And not just the appearance kind.

Our drive was silent besides the old car's labored noises it always made. It was a comfortable silence, one I didn't mind at all. We never needed to talk when we were together, we just had to be there and everything would be alright.

"Alrighty, loser. We're here." She said, opening her door and climbing out. I opened my door to be greeted by her there to hold it open for me like the ridiculous girl she was. She bowed and smiled as I linked our arms to go in.

"Ladies! Finally dating?" Gretchen greeted as the opened the door, taking in our outfits and current position. I winked at her.

"I dunno," I shrugged, leading (y/n) past her into the crowded and loud party filled with drunk teens I hardly recognized.

"I dunno? Man, you're even smoother than I thought!" (y/n) laughed teasingly. I elbowed her in the ribs with a snort.

"Fight me," I whispered in her ear. I could feel her shiver next to me, even though I knew even she'd find it hot in here. I smirked softly. Maybe she did like me after all.

"Gladly," She said confidently, looking over at me. We were so close that our noses brushed, and I felt my heartbeat speed up exponentially as the moment caught up with me. I looked down into her pretty (e/c) eyes, since she was shorter than me.

"Hey," I whispered with my eyes darting down to her soft looking lips that were slightly parted, then back to her eyes. I saw her glance down at my red lips and I noticed her lean in just enough that our lips almost brush and she had to tilt her head.

I closed the tiny gap between us, grabbing her waist and pulling her closer. Her arms looped around my neck excitedly, twirling and playing with my soft hair. I smiled into it and kissed her passionately, with her putting just as much into it. Our eyes were closed and everything was right in the world, and dear God I loved her so fucking much.

She pulled away, and my eyes fluttered open to see her with her pupils blown wide and kiss-swollen lips, a look I quite liked on her.

"In case you didn't realize by the whole thing that just happened, I like you. Like a lot," she whispered, leaning against me so that our foreheads were pressed together.

"I like you a lot too, (y/n). I have for months, I just was scared to admit it." I confessed quietly. She laughed a little bit, causing me to cock my head in confusion.

"I've liked you since we were 12, Ina. Thank god you finally like me back," she giggled.

"So I left you when you liked me," I whispered with wide eyes. Holy shit, words couldn't describe how sorry I felt.

"Yeah, but it's fine now, since I've got you back and your lips are really soft. Just kiss me again, okay? Everything's fine," she assured with her hands sliding up and down my biceps softly. I smiled down at her.

"Well, it's the least I could do to make up for it all," I said as I leaned down and connected our lips once again.
