Jeremy Heere (Be More Chill) +~Fluff~+

Requested: Nope.

Title: Disney Princess in Skinny Jeans

Jeremy's POV

I stumbled my way off the steps of the bus in the morning like the clumsy person I am. Seriously, why could I never walk normally? That's when I caught sight of her.

There was this angelic (h/c) girl talking to my ex, Christine. The unfamiliar, but beautiful, girl was wearing a black Newsies t-shirt and light-wash skinny jeans, and looked absolutely fantastic in them.

She turned towards me and we locked eyes. I felt heat blossom up my neck onto my ears and cheeks and I knew my face looked like a fire truck. Her face was even prettier than the back of her head, with a soft, gentle look settled on her face. Her eyes were big and (e/c) colored. I figured that would be my new favorite color, honestly.

And on top of that, her lips were painted in red and curved into a kind smile. She broke the eye contact as fast as it came and looked back to Christine, who glanced over to me. A knowing smirk spread across her face.

"Jeremy! How are you?" She called out, waving. The angel glanced back over to me and I saw a bit of pink spread on her face. Was I making her blush? I grinned at the thought as I came up to her.

"You're in a good mood, what's up?" Christine asked with a cheeky smile.

"Oh! Nothing much! J-just a-uhhh, listened to uhhh- a good song! On Spotify! On the bus!" I panicked and looked down, face flaming up again.

"Oh, what song?" The stunning one asked gently. Her voice was... perfect. How would one begin to describe it besides saying that if she sang in the woods, the birds and other critters would have joined in. She was my Disney princess in skinny jeans.

"Ummm... The World Will Know?" I desperately scrambled to find a Newsies song Christine had showed me before to impress her. It seemingly worked, since her face lit up.

"From Newsies?! Oh my god, Jeremy Jordan's voice is so good, right?" She gushed and Chrissy grinned at the two of us.

"That's his name?!" I blurted out. So this guy with the amazing voice from this musical we just bonded over shared my first name? What the hell? This was giving me opportunities I'd regret missing.

"Yeah, why?"

"He and I have the same first name!" My voice cracked and wavered less now as I eased into talking to her. She was pretty easy to be around, besides being intimidatingly gorgeous.

"That's so cool! Oh, hey, it's almost time for school to start. See ya, Jere!" She called, sprinting off.

"You flirt!" Christine screeched once she was out of hearing range.

"A-am not! I just... She was cu- she's just pretty, okay!"

"Well, her names (y/n), so now you have a name to doodle in your math notebook," she teased.

"I'm not writing her name anywhere, Chrissy. She's just cute, that's all." I groaned. She nodded, unconvinced.

"Suuuuure,"

"I'm not being late to class for this conversation, goodbye," I walked away, knowing full well I wouldn't be going to class. Michael and I often skipped class together when something interesting happened, and this morning was interesting for certain. I shot him a text to meet me in the men's bathroom and scurried off on my way.

The bathroom was pretty gross, but it's the only place teachers couldn't follow students. And if we felt dramatic, we could use sickness as an excuse to go home and get high while Michael's parents weren't home.

"What's the emergency, buddy?" Mike came in with his signature winning grin.

"There's this girl, I think she may be new since I never noticed her before, and she's really cute and Christine's friend," I gushed, words tumbling out of my mouth a mile a minute. Michael only understood because we'd been buds for ages, I was sure of it.

"Oh, so you like her?" He teased, smirk growing on his face. I rolled my eyes.

"I only just met her, I can't like her. But I know I could totally really like her if I got to know her," I corrected. Love at first sight was impossible to me, you couldn't love someone you didn't know. What if they were super bigoted? What if they hated on anything they didn't love just because they could? What if they were a waffle person instead of a pancake person? What if they hated cats?

"Really, because I see a case of love at first sight directly in front of me." He teased, easy smirk sliding onto his face.

"Shut up. Even if I did love her, she's not interested in me. She's too pretty to even glance in my direction, let alone go out with me," I groaned.

"As if, buddy. Hey, what if we get Chrissy to invite her to our big ol' lunch table and you two chat? You may have more in common than you know," he suggested gently, which lightened my spirits a bit. Maybe she wasn't as unattainable as I'd been thinking.

Even if I didn't want to obtain her or anything.

She wasn't an object to be won, and I did not love her. Sure, she was seemingly sweet and cool and pretty, but I didn't genuinely know her.

"Yeah, fine. She probably will anyway, she's Christine's friend." I answered, rolling my eyes, face burning a bit. A smile tugged at my lips just thinking about (y/n). In my chest I felt a warm tingle, not what people described in the romance novels, but still a good feeling.

"Yeah, loverboy. See ya later, I just remembered I left my headphones at home. A day without headphones is hell in itself!" Michael bounced out of the gross restroom, some song playing in his head as always. I affectionately shook my head, crossing my arms across my chest.

Now, off to class to suffer and wait for lunchtime to roll around.

(y/n)'s POV

I looked around for the table Christine described earlier, panic rising in my chest when I couldn't immediately spot it.

I scanned once more, looking for the table near a corner that was round and had a couple pretty tall people.

I sighed in relief as I spotted it, and Christine waving, and wordlessly advanced toward it.

"Who do you think you are?" A girl with long, light brown hair asked as I sat down awkwardly next to Christine.

"Oh I'm (y/n). Friend of Christine's," I said awkwardly, eyes wide. That was Chloe Valentine, the most popular girl in school and the one who had recently done modeling gigs. She was even on the front page of Musicals Monthly posing as Heather Chandler from Heathers.

"Ah. Well then, everybody introduce yourselves. I'll start, I'm Chloe Valentine. Welcome," she had what seemed like a kind of genuine smile on her face, and lost the venom. I smiled and waved.

"I'm Brooke Lohst, Chloe's bestie,"the girl next to her said as she looked fondly at the brunette, not even noticing me nod.

"Jenna Rolan, the girl with all the gossip you could possibly need," A wickedly dressed girl with purple hair introduced with a wink.

"Michael Mell." A boy in a red hoodie littered with patches said casually. I gave a reluctant smile. Next to him was Jeremy, which made me grin. An unusual little pressure settled in my chest. Not unpleasant, but strange indeed.

"Jeremy Heere, but you already.. I mean you know my first name because if this morning but- I uhh. I mean you can- hey." He rambled, making me giggle a bit. His eyes widened.

"Hey, it's okay Jere. I'm just a person," I said gently. He nodded, making eye contact with his lap instead of me.

"I'm Rich. Richard Goranthki," a shorter boy who sat next to me, on the other side than Christine, introduced sticking his hand out to shake. I accepted it and nearly winced at how strong his handshake was. The guy didn't know his own strength, that was for sure.

"Yo, I'm Jakey D. Well, that's what my buds call me. I'm actually Jake Dillinger," A tall brunette next to Rich introduced, reaching out to give me a less painful handshake. I smiled at him.

Jeremy's POV

Was it just me, or were those two smiling at each other for far too long? Why was I kidding myself by even pretending a girl like her would like me, when Jake fucking Dillinger was at the table? He was charming, nice, and athletic. I was just the kid who had Jeremy Jordan's first name.

"You okay Jere?" Christine whispered, making sure that only I could hear. I nodded, gesturing with my head ever to slightly to (y/n) and Jake, who were now conversing animatedly with Rich about something. I think it had to do with the importance of exercise or something.

She glanced over and looked back with a sympathetic expression, and motioned for me to come closer so she could whisper actual sentences to me. I obeyed, obviously. It could have been important.

"Just ask her out after lunch. She might like you," She whispered, and my face lit up but fell. I nodded, but I knew that I was going to hate it and then she was going to hate me and we'd never be friends.

"Okay, I'll do it. But just ask as a hang-out. If she proposed a date, then it's a date," I begrudgingly agreed. She grinned up at me and punched my shoulder. After we broke up, which was a mutual decision, she was my wing woman and if she actually liked anybody, I would be her wing man. We had a good friendship going.

The rest of lunch was spent contemplating (y/n)'s answer to my upcoming question and occasionally joining in on banter. It was much louder here than at Michael and I's old table, but sometimes it was nice to be able to dip into the background and zone out for a while. Sometimes, you just needed to get lost in thought.

Or should I say, Lohst in thought.

I cracked myself up sometimes, I thought as I stared forward, not even smiling in the slightest.

The bell rang, dismissing everyone to class and bringing me abruptly from my thoughts. Christine turned and smiled at me before grabbing her backpack and leaving.

(y/n) was just about to do the same, but I awkwardly set a hand on her wrist. She looked up at me with her big (e/c) eyes and my scrap of confidence faltered slightly.

"What's up, Jere?" She asked lightly, in that pretty voice she had. I could have fallen in love with her voice alone.

"I was just... I was thinking- uhh. You seem- err uhh, you seem really cool! And I was wondering if- if maybe you'd... wanna hang out sometime? Alone?" I blurted out, giving up on eye contact halfway through. One sentence, Jeremy. You couldn't spit out a single sentence without embarrassing yourself.

"Jeremy Heere, are you asking me on a date?" I looked up slightly into her eyes, hearing her playful tone. Her eyes glimmered and her cheeks were dusted in pink. She looked... stunning.

"Yeah, I am! But if you don't want to, it's-"

"I would absolutely love to go on a date with you. Give me your number, we can hang this weekend. Maybe go to see a movie? Or a live play if we can find one?" Her smile was absolutely blinding, and I rushed to get a paper and pencil, shakily writing down my name and number. After deliberation, I put a heart next to it, handing it to her a bit too excitedly.

"Thanks," She winked, grabbing her bag and walking off, out of the nearly empty cafeteria. I watched her retreating back with a dopey grin, not even half believing that I just managed to score a date with her.

Note to self: Thank Christine later.
