Wednesday Addams- Picnic (c)

The Addams Family Musical One Shot

When they say that opposites attract maybe they didn't picture you and your girlfriend. You were the epitome of light and happiness. You had a pastel wardrobe and thoroughly enjoyed being out in the sunshine, appreciating everything that nature offered. Wednesday however was a gothic beauty, rarely wearing anything other than black and always able to see the marvels in anything dark and traditionally gloomy.

Even though aesthetically you were polar opposites and you enjoyed different things, you somehow worked beyond better than anyone ever imagined. Her family doubted your compatibility but when they saw how happy you made each other and that you appreciated her interest in the gothic, they had no issues with you.

The two of you regularly went on dates, alternating on who organised them. The last date you went on was a midnight walk through her family cemetery where she told you all about her family that lie there and took care of you whilst you got scared. Today was one of your dates. You had taken her to a local forest clearing for a picnic and to take in the nature and beauty it held.

As the two of you ate the food you prepared, you noticed a squirrel slowly sneaking towards you, interested in what was going on. You let out a little laugh, taking a small chunk of the bread from your sandwich before holding it out towards it.

"It's okay, sweetie," you smiled softly to it, keeping a hushed tone. "We won't hurt you."

It took a moment for it to weigh up whether it truly wanted the food before it hesitantly took the scrap from you, scurrying straight away back to the tree it had come from.

You couldn't help but smile at yourself before looking back at your girlfriend who shared the expression. Rarely did Wednesday smile, showing her happiness in her own way.

"Why are you looking at me like that?" You asked, shyly looking away to go back to the flowers you had picked from around you in an attempt to make a rather shabby looking daisy chain.

"It is admirable how you are with wildlife, they seem to sense your kindness," she commented.

You rolled your eyes at her, not sure how to accept compliments when you received them. The two of you let the silence settle, just enjoying the company of the other until you were able to secure the daisy chain into a loop. You smiled at her, holding it up and she nodded, knowing what you wanted.

Moving towards her, you lay the daisies upon her head as though it were a crown. She moved it a little but having the while petals upon her black hair, just made everything seem so much more beautiful.

"You make me happy," you grinned.

"Not as happy as you make me."
