Veronica Sawyer- New Boyfriend (a)
Heathers The Musical One Shot
You and Veronica sat on the freshly painted bleachers, tucked neatly into the upper corner trying to blend into the shadows as much as possible.
"What's up with you?" You asked Veronica, her head nestled tightly just under your neck, she seemed distant from the morning assembly which may not have been the most interesting thing in the world but normally did not have such a sombre reception.
"Nothing." She replied gloomily, fiddling with the tightly sewn fabric that ran along the trim of her skirt.
"Well clearly something's wrong..." You lifted her head gently off your chest with your finger and raider her face to yours, only to have her shrug and slump down to her previous position. "Come on V, we were friends before you got in with 'The heathers', we were friends before you became hot shit. So, come on. These should be the happiest days of your life, what's wrong?"
"Just drop it okay?" She spoke softly, and kept her eyes loosely set on the sports court in front of you.
"Have you and that new kid had a falling out? You seem so cute together." She just nodded and kept her head tucked under your shoulder. "Do you think we should talk about it?" This time she shook her head and pulled her hands into her sleeves. "Come on, how bad can it be?"
She looked up at you with tears falling down her face streaming down from two bloodshot, distraught looking eyes.
"Hey, hey V... tell me what's going on." She dabbed the tears off her face, staining her cobalt jacket with spats of darkness.
"He's not right y/n." Her tears fell and fell, her sleeve became darker and darker until her one forearm bore almost a completely different colour.
"Come on V, you don't need to get all upset over him. Just because he's not right for you doesn't mean that's it for you." You rubbed her arm and wiped the tears away with your thumb, but it did nothing to calm her down.
"No y/n, he isn't right."
"You're gonna have to tell me V, I can't do anything if I don't know what's going on." She managed to collect herself with a few deep breaths.
"He's crazy." Her words were now hushed and as she spoke Veronica spun her head around, constantly scanning the crowd for him. "Chandler... that was him."
"I know that you blame yourself V, everyone knows that, as sad as it was, Heather killed herself. Nobodies to blame for that."
"He made me kill her." Her words were little more than a whisper now compared to the thundering crowd of high school students.
