Philip Carlyle- Morning (h)

The Greatest Showman One Shot

When you were younger you could never have thought that you'd actually be able to move out from your parents' place.

It had taken a while for your sister to do it and that was only because she'd gotten married, it was expected for her to move out.

You however, you'd moved out before marriage – much to the distaste of your parents and his – and it was a nice enough place.

The most important thing to you though was that it felt like home. You wanted you and Phillip to have a home of your own, somewhere that the two of you could grow together and potentially have a family somewhere down the line.

Even if yours and his parents weren't happy with the situation, you and Phillip definitely were.

You'd gotten up earlier in order to make coffee for the both of you, and as far as you were aware Phillip was still asleep, but that was clearly not the case when two arms wrapped around your middle from behind and a chin was rested on your shoulder.

"Good morning to you too," you giggled as you spoke because Phillip was nuzzling at your neck.

He chuckled causing his breath to fan over his neck. "I can't say that I like waking up without you next to me," he complained, hugging you tighter.

You laughed, pouring the coffee into his favourite mug. "Well, I suppose it's good to have something to keep me around for."

"I keep you around for much more than that love," he stated as he reached for his mug.

You turned around in his arms and leant back against the counter. "Do elaborate."

He took a sip of his coffee as he pretended to think. "You make the best coffee."

Rolling your eyes, you turned back around to grab your own mug before you went back to bed.

Phillip followed you, choosing to lean against the doorframe and watch as you climbed back under the covers. "I love you; you know that?"

A blush rose to your cheeks. The two of you had been together for years but hearing him tell you that never got old.

He smiled when he noticed the blush, somewhat revelling that he could still affect you in such a way. "And one day, hopefully soon, we'll make this whole thing official."

"Official?" you questioned, drinking your own coffee.

Chuckling he pushed off of the doorframe and came to climb in bed next to you. "Before this year is up there will be a ring on your finger."

The blush on your face got even worse. "Confident, aren't we?"

"Definitely love," he confirmed with a nod of his head. "As the year is up in a matter of weeks."
