Jenna Hunterson- Nervous (c)
Waitress The Musical One Shot
You had never been one to frequent the same café before and being considered a regular in any place seemed like a bizarre concept. That was at least true until you moved and found a quaint diner that you fell desperately in love with, and maybe the owner had something to do with it too.
Lulu's Diner had been the place you went to, to get coffee one morning before work and you met Jenna, the recent new owner and the woman behind all of the amazing pies sold there. You'd never really eaten pie prior to that but as soon as you had one fork full of her apple pie, you couldn't stop eating it. She was sweet, kind and beautiful along with being a marvellous baker, so you returned to the diner every day.
You didn't talk to Jenna too much, maybe a little hello and a lot of smiles across the room with reddened cheeks but she seemed far too nervous to say anything if she felt anything for you. It felt rather immature to fall for someone you barely knew but everything you learned about her made you want to get to know her more, if only she had the confidence to talk to you.
Luckily the two waitresses there, Dawn and Becky were able to take it upon themselves to get to know you and see if you were a good option for their friend. They didn't tell you why but regularly they questioned you until it got to the point where they'd talk about Jenna and practically flirt with you on her behalf.
Today was no different. The two of them brought over your coffee and pie before sitting down opposite you.
"So, we have come to a conclusion," Dawn stated.
"About?" You questioned.
"Well Jenna talks about your all the time and you seem worthy of her," Becky said. "She'll never have the courage to say anything. Christ, she met her husband at school and the only other person who has gotten into her pants was her doctor, so if anything will ever come from that we need to do something about it."
You cocked an eyebrow at them, not quite sure what they were talking about as you didn't think Jenna remotely liked you in return.
"Do you want to go out for dinner with Jenna?" Dawn asked, clarifying it.
Looking behind you, you saw Jenna awkwardly stood in the doorway of their kitchen. You offered her a warm smile.
"I'd love to go for dinner with you Jenna," you smiled.
Her cheeks became reddened as she chewed on her lower lip.
"I'll pick you up here at seven?"
"I'd love that."
