Evan Hansen- Supply Cupboard (c)

Dear Evan Hansen One Shot

Not having friends was hard in a high school, especially as that was always point number one for people to make fun of. And without friends to help you see bullies' words were useless, you were falling into yourself, losing yourself to the words. Kids were cruel, but you could generally grin and bear it. It was just school after all, and if you kept your head down it would be over soon, and you'd be moving onto bigger and brighter things.

It hadn't been a good day, just a long painful day, just waking up with pain without too much reason to it. Most days you could handle it, today you couldn't. You had been somewhat friendly with Jared Kleinman, mainly due to your Dads being close friends from when they were in University. Things changed though, he was only nice to you if it meant he got something, and today wasn't one of those days.

He took out whatever frustration he got from being a rich kid without enough love from his parents, in reminding you of the fact that you were a loner and that no one liked you. Usually you tried not to let Jared's words, of anyone's, get to you but tears begun to tumble down your face, leaving you stared at by your peers around you. It pained you immensely to be made to feel as though you meant nothing, you were beginning to believe it.

Not wanting to be gawked at for your tears, you ran straight towards the nearest supply cupboard, hiding in it. Your eyes instantly slammed shut in an attempt to stop the tears as you hid the darkness, but you could hear someone else crying. You looked up to see the shocked expression of Evan Hansen, whom was also hiding there.

"Evan?" You whispered.

"Y/N... what are you doing here?" He asked through his tears.

"What are you doing here?" You questioned.

Both of you said 'Jared' together. You knew that Jared gave Evan a hard time a lot too, for similar reasons that he gave you a hard time.

"He can be a dick," you said softly.

Evan nodded his head.

"Don't listen to him. He doesn't understand what its like to be anxious. I'm sure if you could make friends you would, but anxiety sucks and stops us from doing what we really want," you smiled weakly. "But one day the sun will shine through and all will be right with the world again."

He smiled softly. "Thank you. It is hard to handle."

"It is but we will get through it together," you said, sure of your self. "That's what friends do."
