Christian- Lies (c)
Moulin Rouge! One Shot
You had been in love a long time prior, but it didn't end on the best of terms. Your family did not allow the relationship, he was merely a writer whilst you was a nurse. He had no money, never found his lucky break, so when your Father told you of his death, you had an inkling your family had something to do with it.
You moved from your London home to Yorkshire, taking in the solitude, continuing to work, but never finding a man to replace or fill the hole Christian had left. It felt as though it was a life not worth living. You didn't have the man you loved by your side, but your struggled through nevertheless.
A friend of a friend contacted you and invited you to Paris. They knew of the sadness you had succumbed to but there was a job opportunity. Everything had calmed down there since the Moulin Rouge had closed but it was still a tourist destination.
When you got there though it wasn't the dream they had told you it would be. There was no job, there was no home, and you had nothing there. You managed to pay for a hotel for a few nights but your money was going to run out soon.
As you walked down one of the main roads looking for any help wanted signs there could be. Distracted by looking for the signs you collided with someone, almost falling backwards but arms caught you pulling you to the person you had bumped into you.
You let out a gasp, clamping your eyes shut as you clung onto the stranger. Slowly you opened your eyes to see a shocked familiar face.
"Christian?" you gasped.
"Y/N?" he asked.
"You're supposed to be dead. They told me you were dead," you said still trying to wrap your head around seeing the man you loved in front of you.
"They told me you were dead."
He let go of you allowing you to take a step back.
"My Father said you had died. I mourned your death, why did he lie to me?" you whispered.
"He told me you had died. He told me you wished for me to come to France, that you didn't want me to be stuck with the memories of you loss," he sighed, "I thought I lost you."
"I knew he did not wish for us to be together but I never thought he'd go to such extremes. I have missed you Christian," you smiled softly, "How have you been?"
"I was so scared I'd lost you, but I met another woman, I fell in love with her," he whispered.
It hurt you, it hurt you a lot but you didn't want to show him that. He thought you were dead, if you had died you would have wanted him to move on. You couldn't be angry but nevertheless it hurt you, there was no controlling that.
"Oh, I am glad to hear you are happy," you smiled softly.
"But I am not. I did love her. I am not going to deny that, but I loved you too, I just never thought I'd see you again. But Satine, she passed, she actually did die, in my arms. I lost you both, and my love for you both will never die. I still love you Y/N, but I understand if you moved on or if you do not see me the same now," he whispered.
"I am very sorry to hear that. But I do love you Christian. I could never move on from you, I tried I tried to be happy but I couldn't. I know you say you love me, but will you have me back? I apologise for my Father's lies, I apologise for it all," you smiled softly.
He nodded lacing his arms around your waist, pulling you close to him letting your lips press against each other.
