Six The Musical One Shot

When you had learnt of your husband's infidelity, you did your best to not allow yourself to hurt and put your emotions onto parchment to send to your dear friend Anna in Richmond. It had been a marriage of convenience, a political union to assist your husband and father, and although you had become fond of your husband after a while, there was never any love. You weren't heartbroken by him taking on a mistress and wishing to end your relationship but it still hurt to have him break your trust and ruin an arrangement that you had never wanted to be part of in the beginning.

Unwillingly, you stayed in the home you shared with your husband, exchanging letters with Anna until she decided to invite you to her palace to stay with her. You packed up your belongings and left as soon as you could, heading to see your friend, hoping for anything happier than the life you were currently living.

Anna was glad to see you, not certain if you would take up her offer but was glad to have the company of a friend that normally she would rarely see due to where you lived.

"Thank you for your kindness Anna," you smiled softly, hoping the invite was sincere.

"You're welcome to stay here as long as you want. I have more than enough space to have you here for as long as you need. There is no need for you to share the home of that man who has no decency to you."

She led you through the lavish halls of her home that you had only known of through the words of her letters. It was a beautiful place and you could only hope that your divorce would offer you such fortune, but you doubted as such.

"I am having some chambers made up for you, so I hope they will suffice for you. Until then there is a feast awaiting you. I cannot have such a special guest go hungry," she smiled proudly.

"You are honestly too nice to me Anna," you said softly. "You do not need to do so much. You are already offering me refuge from my pain."

Anna shook her head. "I am here for you through it all and I shall not do it at half an effort. You deserve the best and that shall be what you receive."
