incredible story. absolutely in LOVE with the choreography.

but while the story and the dialogue are impressive and funny and touching (and totally didn't make me cry watching the bootleg at 3 am)

the music isn't

don't get me wrong, it's not the worst music ive ever heard. it's fun, it's poppy, but it's so

i do love some songs

i think that i like wall in my head? but the lyrics could have been so much better

that's the thing with nearly all of these songs -- the lyrics.

it all sounds really beginner level but i can still bop my a s s to it

this is why it's so hard for me to rate it

it wins me over with its jokes and storyline but i don't enjoy the music

im totally into the idea of modern music woven into the world of classic musical theatre but etaj doesn't do it well

it sounds like the pop music on the radio, and that's not completely a bad thing, but it just isn't my cup of tea

i like a lot of the modern little things in it but some of it is underwhelming? one of the songs (don't remember what it's called) that's either the end or near the end

it's just not great? for an ending? bc im pretty sure it was the part connected to the ending or the actual ending

but! it's super quotable and emotional and hilarious and i love the cool things they do with the screen in the background

i would say jamie x dean? i mean, the prom scene was the start of a dean redemption arc, but i feel like in the future, after high school and dean fixes things up, they'd be pretty cute together
