'Connie' {Michael x Connor}
This'll just be a cute little oneshot for Mellphy
Micheal's POV
"Do you get what I mean?" I asked my friend, Connor Murphy. Well, we'd only recently become friends, after Jeremy abandoning me and all. I'm almost thankful. I was devastated after the whole Jeremy calling me a loser thing and then basically throwing twelve fucking years of friendship out of the window.
Just because someone didn't want to listen to a warning that, that parasite in his head could end up hurting him in the long run. But enough about my ex-best friend.
Connor Murphy. I honestly never thought we'd be anything more than 'we'd seen each other once or twice on the way to class' but now, I consider him a friend. We're together at my house for God's sake! And I'd be lying to myself if I said I didn't find him attractive. Connor is attractive, I'll admit that now. He has this grayish-brown hair that frames his features quite nicely, he has these dark brown eyes that remind me of dark chocolate. I wouldn't have gone as far as to say I had a crush on him yet. I'm just admiring his good looks. Though it doesn't help I have a bit of a thing for long hair...
Connor looked lost and I blinked out of my thoughts. "Um, you kinda lost me at the whole different type matchups thing." He was holding the DS I'd handed him and he looked downright confused. Oh right, teaching him Pokémon, I reminded myself.
"Okay, I'll repeat it," I said, offering him a smile. I didn't let Connor's confusion bother me, he's probably never played a game before in his life. I sat next to him closely, and suddenly felt warmth radiating off of Connor. I turned to look to him and saw that his cheeks were flushed with a dark red colour. Connor's blushing.... huh. Connor noticed me looking at him and he turned redder and tried to hide his face behind his hair. "Hey, there's no need to be embarrassed," I said, assuming that's why he was blushing. "You're new to this stuff." I explained the different type matchups again, more slowly so Connor wouldn't get as lost.
"Okay... I think I understand better now," he replied. Connor sent me an awkward smile. Connor never smiles but it seems that when he's around me he smiles more easily. Connor pushed a few buttons on the DS as he continued to play around on my Pokémon Pearl copy. I figured that if I was going to teach Connor about what I do for fun, at his request, it would probably be best if I wasn't high. So I'm not.
"That's good," I agreed with a nod. I looked at him. Connor was a friend I'd never thought I'd have. I'd only ever been friends with Jeremy up until the whole party fiasco. If that hadn't happened though, Connor and I probably would've never met. I wouldn't have been close to tears, ready to blame them on weed, he would've never asked me 'what the fuck is up with you?', we would never have bonded over the fact we were friendless.
"I'm sorry," Connor was saying. "My utter fucking lack of skill is probably painful for you to watch." I laughed a bit and elbowed Connor slightly in his arm.
"It's kinda cute, honestly." My comment made Connor blush again. "I can tell you're trying your best even if you're not the greatest. It's just adorable watching you." I smiled at him. "Not everyone's going to be amazing when they try out something for the first time."
"Heh. Thanks?" Connor's answer sounded more like a question. I patted his shoulder.
"It's nothing." I took my headphones off from where they were hanging around my neck and placed them next to me. I looked back at him. "So, how is that whole crush thing working out for you?" I asked, curiously. Connor had told me he had feelings for someone, he just hadn't named him, for some reason.
"Oh! Uh... we're talking a lot more so that's nice." That smile I knew all too well appeared on Connor's face, that in love smile. It was honestly adorable seeing him gush about him.
"That's great," I said. "Maybe it will actually go somewhere?" I was smiling a bit myself. Connor looked at me for a bit before turning his head away.
"I hope so," he agreed and I could see the soft smile on his face. He then sighed. "He's just really fucking oblivious. I don't even think he suspects anything. Like, I almost think the entire fucking school knows, all of them, every fucking one except him."
I couldn't help but laugh a little. "That sounds frustrating. Well, I don't know who this guy is so it wouldn't be the entire school." Connor merely gazed at me before sighing and looking away. "Well, Connie," the nickname just slipped out before I was even aware of it, "I'm sure your crush would be very lucky to have you if he ever returns your feelings."
Connor had gone scarlet at the nickname. He was blushing profusely, I couldn't not notice it even if I attempted to, it was basically his entire face. His dark brown eyes were wide and he appeared to be frozen in shock.
"Uh, Con? Connor? Earth to Connor?" I waved my hand in front of his face. "Dude, are you okay?" Connor blinked slowly and he slowly unfroze.
"Oh yeah.. I'm great!" He said, quickly turning his head away. I looked at him.
"Well anyway..." I looked back at the DS in Connor's hands. "Wanna continue?" He seemed relieved at the subject change. Connor moved the character around a bit.
I heard a sparkle and I looked at Connor excitedly.
"Um... why is that Shinx yellow instead of blue...?"
"Connie! That's amazing!" Was all I said. I scooted extremely close to him, we were basically on top of each other. "You found a shiny!" Connor looked at me blankly, and he'd blushed again.
"A... what?"
"A shiny! It's super rare!" Connor looked back at the yellow Shinx on the DS's screen. I saw him smile.
"I found something rare?" I nodded. Connor then looked at me. "What do I do? I don't want to make him faint if he's so rare." I looked at the health bar of the Shinx and saw that it was, indeed, male.
"Okay. Listen to me now." Connor gave me a nod. "You're going to want to weaken him but not to the point of fainting as you don't want to faint him and lose something extremely rare. So, you'll weaken him a bit and then start throwing balls at him, eventually he'll get caught." Connor looked back at the DS and did as I advised.
"I got him," he said happily.
"That's good."
Okay, I'm sorry for the sort of lack of an ending with this one but I kinda suffered a major writer's block in the middle of it so this is what you get.
