Journey
Normally I'd say just do whatever you want. But, I think I'm improving with these a bit. Its really fun to read out loud( dramatically like you're a renaissance soap opera actor lol). There's slight pauses for dramatic effect. But I do believe you'll enjoy this much more if it's read out loud.
Atop the earthen crest
Inquisitive glances
Weighing of chances
Time soon to leave the nest
Ponder of whom may be the rest
Suspense and apprehence fill your chest
You turn to the unfolding expanse
Thinning misty clouds induce a trance
Their beckoning tips off this journey
Falling but you don't hesitate
Day's reckoning lips, mouth certainty
Then
You break the sweet cucumber canopy
All intact
Oh can it be?
Equestrian strides
The feeling
You're alive!
A breeze the reminder
Trees and bees we find here
This feeling to be free
So clearly you see
And smell
The shell
And the sea
A spell
From sounds of thee
Your senses overwhelmed
The spine tenses, it's ectasy
Hive of bees so far; meld
The pine trees ceasing; next to be
A clearing approaches
Take heed with caution
The edge, you stand erect
A time to reflect...
The Hooded Forest you've surpassed
Most others wouldn't have last
This you cannot understand
It was quite a wondrous land
Now is no time to question
Way found upon inspection
For the wise voice sits crowned
Unafflicted with none around
Though your mission is clear
The beauty you will hold dear
The hawks so regally soar
Still far from our destiny
Where the mountain meets the shore
But close enough you can see...
Off again you race
This time no doubt
Not even a trace
You pass by deer and wild bore
Oh my, that smell, it must be the shore
It's briney notes tickle your nose
You barreling through the canyon
Now close, you no longer suppose
Ancestral howling of distant land men
The wondrous prize in your sight
You realize, you need not might
The journey you've endured
For you've made it
You collapse at your destiny
Not exhaustion
But elation
Your homely den
Poor crustacean
