Chapter Four
It was currently 11 a.m and I was rushing around getting ready to meet up with everyone, as I, yet again, had woken up late.
"Come on Pikachu, we gotta get going!" I shouted up to my room. "Pika Pi!" Pikachu ran down the steps with my hat on his head. He jumped onto my shoulder. I took my hat and put it on my messy raven hair. "Ready?" Pikachu nodded. "Alright, let's go."
I ran out the door after saying goodbye to my mom. I ran to the bus stop. Gary, Serena, and Drew were already there. "Hey guys!" I greeted. "Hey Ash!" They replied in harmony. "So while we're waiting, Ash, what happened yesterday? You didn't respond to my text for at least two hours!" Gary asked.
"Oh, uhm, nothing, just working on something." I replied nervously. "What was that something? We didn't have homework." Gary said. I cursed under my breath. "Fine, I was working on a song." I said, prepared to be laughed at. They stared at me for a second.
I sighed. I was about to walk away before, "Man, that's awesome!" Drew shouted. I turned back around. "Huh?" They all smiled at me, "That's great Ash! Can we hear it?!" Serena shouted excitedly. "Yeah Ash, if you have it on your phone or something." Gary said. "O-okay." I pulled out my phone and turned up the volume.
They clapped once it ended. "Thanks." I said, still happy that they supported me. "Was that you singing?" Gary asked. "Y-yeah." I said with a small tint of pink on my cheeks. "That was amazing!" Serena said with stars in her eyes.
---
That was one of the best days of my life. Reflecting on it brings a tear to my eye. What happened next...oh yeah! We ended up going to the movies that day.
---
We had watched a horror movie. Confession time: I screamed. "That was a good movie!" Gary shouted. All of the girls, except Misty, were trembling. "Y-yeah. Hey i-it's getting l-late, we should get home." Serena stuttered. We all agreed and we went our separate ways.
I greeted my mom and went up to my room. I set my bag down. "Pikachu, do you want to go and play outside with Lycanroc?" Pikachu nodded. I released Lycanroc and the two went outside.
I went over to my computer. I opened up my music program and worked for a while. I got tired and then let my Pokemon in. I got on my bed and fell asleep.
---
Huh? Where am I? I looked around and saw darkness. Then it changed into my bedroom. I walked over to the mirror and saw myself but...older? Then the dream morphed again. I looked around my current age now. I was still looking in the mirror, but the background was a young girl trying to pile boxes infront of the door.
The girl went into her pocket and took out a locket. It had a picture of her, an older version of me, and...and an older version of...Serena? It looked like I took the locket. I looked up and saw my room again.
"Weird." I muttered to myself. I went towards the door, but when I opened it, it turned into a stage. I walked out because it felt like instinct. A man handed me a microphone. I turned the mic on and walked out. People were cheering...not my name...but...Lycanrock? Isn't that my name for Social Media? Such as, Twitter or Instagram?
I started singing. I couldn't make out what I was singing, mainly because I didn't know, but also because of the crowd cheering so loudly. The dream shifted again
This time, I was sitting on a bench. A honey-blonde haired girl was pushing a young girl on the swings and I was writing a...song? It read: Even when I doubt you. I couldn't make out the rest. Huh, weird.
The dream shifted again. This time I was wearing my normal clothes. You know; blue jacket, black undershirt, red and white hat, jeans, red trainers. You know, the normal outfit.
I was sitting. I had one leg outstretched and one leg bent up.
I saw a blue Frog-like Pokemon. I felt like I knew it. It turned around. "Gekkouga!" I shouted, as if it was normal. I jumped at it and it dispersed into water. I realized that the floor was water. I fell to my knees. For some reason I let a tear fall down my cheek. A tower of water raised from the ground and engulfed me. When the water went away I found myself in...school?
I was walking down the hallway with a Pokeball in my hand. Somehow I could feel it. It was that Frog Pokemon from before. I went to the training field and let it out. "Kougga!" I looked at it before the dream shifted again.
"Your fate is not yet clear, Ketchum." I heard a voice say. "You have two paths, but that is all I can see." The voice continued. Everything began to fade away. "...Ketchum. This is n... la... tim...goodb......." Then it faded away completely.
---
I shot up, breathing heavily. I put my head in my hands. What just happened?
---
"Ugh, I hate Math!" I shouted. We had just gotten done with math and were now going to battle class.
We sat down in battle class. Professor Oak told us that we were leaving about the Pokemon types.
Nothing else happened until Gym. We walked in and got changed. "Alright cupcakes, listen up!" Coach Hedge shouted. "Watch this." Gary whispered to me. "What's that Coach?! I couldn't hear you!" Gary exclaimed. Coach Hedge pulled out a megaphone. "THE COW GOES MOO!!" The students erupted in laughter. Coach threw the megaphone. "OAK!!!" He exploded.
We were put onto teams and were playing dodgeball. It was Gary and me left. He threw a ball and I dodged, I threw and he dodged, he threw, I threw and so on. Then I finally hit him. My team erupted in cheers.
"Alright, listen up! There's no time left! Get outta here!" He shouted. Gary, Serena, and I bolted for the exit. We got our lunch, I fed Pikachu and Lycanroc. We talked then went of for Period 6.
---
I flopped onto my bed after dinner. I watched my Pokemon fall asleep, but I couldn't. That dream was in my mind. I sat up and quietly exited the house. I walked down the street, feeling the cool night breeze.
I saw a figure at the other side of the crosswalk. I recognized it as Serena. "Hey Serena." I greeted she waved back at me, blushing. "Can't sleep either?" I asked. "Yeah." She replied. I looked up at the stars.
"Sometime I come out just to look at the stars." She said. She looked up with me. She began to shiver. I took off my coat and handed it to her. "Here. I don't need it right now." She took it and blushed. She put it on and savored it's warmth.
I smiled at her. She smiled back. We stared at the stars for a few minutes before she finally spoke, "I better get back, see you tomorrow." She said, handing my jacket back. "See you tomorrow." I said. We parted ways. Do I like her? Well, I guess we will see in the next few days.
I laid on my bed and fell asleep without another thought, and we all know what sleep brings, Dreams.
