"Don't Come Around Here No More"💕
So I found this article online I clicked on it cause hello it had "Don't Come Around Here No More" on it so this is what I got:
Don't Come Around Here No More" - Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers
I can't hear this song without thinking of its very weird, very creepy Alice in Wonderland-themed video. As if AiWisn't creepy enough on its own, Tom Petty ratchets it up to 11 as the Mad Hatter and takes it to serial-killer-level proportions by eating the cake-turned Alice.
The song was co-written with Petty by Eurythmics' Dave Stewart in 1984. According to Stewart's book, The Dave Stewart Songbook, Stewart, who'd recently achieved fame upon the U.S. release of Eurythmics' single "Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This)," had just finished playing LA's Wiltern Theater when he met Stevie Nicks backstage. According to Stewart, Nicks had just broken up with Joe Walsh the night before, and Stewart accompanied her home, where the two had a romantic encounter. (Please take a moment to imagine what Stevie Nicks must be like in bed. Were there scarves involved? A fan? The world may never know.) His encounter with a fragile, rebounding Stevie Nicks inspired Stewart to begin writing "Don't Come Around Here No More" for her.
"But wait," you're thinking. "Stevie Nicks doesn't sing that song! You're a big, fat liar!" Well, this is where it gets interesting, and I'll kindly ask you to refrain from commenting on my weight. Stewart was staying with producer Jimmy Iovine, who was working on Nicks' Bella Donna album. They wrote the song, and Ms. Nicks came over to begin recording. Unfortunately, Dave Stewart didn't know that Stevie Nicks and Jimmy Iovine had once been romantically involved as well.
Things got ugly, and the whole thing ended with Stevie Nicks storming out. The result was that Iovine decided to give the song to Tom Petty, with whom he'd worked on the Bella Donna duet "Stop Draggin' My Heart Around." All's well that ends well, though; Dave Stewart and Stevie Nicks patched things up and continue to work together to this day.

Oh and this one too
TOM PETTY THROUGH THE LOOKING GLASS
Choosing the best quality sound and video representation of the 1980s would be 'Don't Come Around Here No More'. While Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers kept true to their rock roots, the basis for this song has the 1980s painted everywhere. In addition to the synthesizers in the music, the video for the song is one of the most memorable in history. In the style of the day, the story takes place in Wonderland. Everything is out of a bad acid trip where Petty is the Mad Hatter. Every item used is oversized and perfectly fit for being unforgettable.
While the song is a classic, so is the story of how it was created. Everything about 'Don't Come Around Here No More' is interesting. Truly one of the Top 10 songs of the 1980s. Perhaps in the Top 5 music videos of all time. So without further ado, here's the back-story involving three classic rockers.
'SWEET DREAMS' ARE WHERE IT BEGINS
Tom Petty did not originally have the idea for 'Don't Come Around Here No More.' In fact, the song was the result of a hot one-night-stand between Stevie Nicks and Dave Stewart of the Eurythmics. Stewart recounts meeting Nicks while the Eurythmics toured the U.S. In his book, The Dave Stewart Songbook says he was kicked out of Nicks house the next day, but felt strongly about her. The "Sweet Dreams" songwriter went home and started writing the song. Stewart writes, "I really liked Stevie and she seemed vulnerable and fragile when I was leaving that morning. I was thinking about that and the situation she was in and I started singing, 'Don't come around her no more.'"
DON'T COME AROUND STEVIE NICKS NO MORE
Although Dave Stewart originally wrote the song for Stevie Nicks, circumstances changed. The story seems unclear, but Nicks apparently had an issue with producer Jimmy Iovines. Regardless, 'Don't Come Around Here No More' was handed over to Tom Petty.
Dave Stewart was famous for his work with the Eurythmics. Stewart's sound would mean a change for Tom Petty. Moving away from his Southern rock style into the synthesizer, drum machine beats of the 1980s was a drastic shift. Yet, his contributions with just this one song equaled one of the most memorable pieces of a forgettable decade.
THROUGH THE LOOKING GLASS TOM PETTY AS THE MAD HATTER
The 1980s were a decade of going overboard with unneeded accessories. Additions of excess make-up, hairspray, shoulder-pads, were all characteristics of the 1980s. The video for 'Don't Come Around Here No More' would be a perfect example of that time period. However, it is still one of the greatest videos ever produced.
As Time writes, "Jeff Stein - the prolific early-'80s music-video director who also helmed the Who biodoc The Kids Are Alright. Stein sets this song in a creepier-than-Carroll Wonderland, with Petty in an outsize mad hat. The cake in question is Alice herself, devoured at the end by Petty and friends after a menacing chase in a black-and-white-checkered room. Audiences ate it up. The single was a big hit, and the video is one of the most memorable from a decade that defined the form."
Tom Petty is still one of the great rockers recording and touring the world today. He is a true American poet and an artist in truest form. 'Don't Come Around Here No More' is one of a kind because of the story, video, and the story. It is a triple-threat.

But then again you really dunno how it was made cause there's like so many different stories like one with Dave and Stevie having a fling, then another where she parties with Dave, Tom, and a bunch of people and Joe comes by and she gives him an earful, then there's one where it just happened... It's one of those things that'll stay as mysterious as the story it portrays 😃💕
