Chapter 10 Friends

A/N: So the layout of this chapter is different. Do you guys like it? or do you prefer all the spacing between the dialogue. I'm using google docs to write instead of Word pad before I copy and paste to wattpad so the spacing is different. If you want me to change it I will, If not. I'll leave it this way.

Lyric walked into the music building after school, she was in an incredibly bad mood after her meeting with Gold and really did not want to deal with Killian. Killian walked out of his office.
"You showed up." He said and raised his eyebrows.
"Yeah well, you didn't give me much of a choice. So. I'm just going to sit here and work on my homework for an hour or however long you are keeping me and you are going to sit over there and leave me alone." Lyric said and sat down.
"I take it your meeting with Gold did not go well." Killian said.
"Nope." Lyric sighed.
"What happened?" Killian asked. Lyric opened her backpack and pulled out her ipod and her math homework to get started, ignoring him.
"Are you really going to that party friday?" Killian asked.
"Well, I was. But once my parents see the D on my history test and my pretty little pink slip from Gold for saturday school there is no way I am going anywhere friday night. Oh and when I explain that I am late because I have detention that will really ice the cake." Lyric grumbled.
"Well if you would behave yourself we wouldn't be having this problem." Killian smirked. Lyric glared at him.
"Seriously what happened to the calm tempered, smiley little thing you were weeks ago?" Killian asked.
"She met a douchey bartender over the summer who turned out to be her music teacher and has done nothing but make her life one giant mess ever since." Lyric sighed as she worked through her math homework. Killian glared at her and walked around behind her and leaned in.
"You didn't think I was douchey when you went home with me and stayed up with me All. Night. Long." He whispered. Lyric's breath caught in her throat and her knuckles turned white around her pencil as she felt his hot breath on the back of her neck.
"Do you mind?" She asked. "I'm trying to focus."
"Oh. Not a problem." Killian smiled and walked down to the white board and started cleaning it off. Lyric found herself less focused on her math homework and more focused on his extremely tight jeans.
No. Lyric this man is the Devil. Focus on your homework.
Lyric looked back down at her homework.
"Is it warm in here to you?" Killian asked and unbuttoned the top two buttons of his shirt as Lyric looked up to answer him.
"Uh.. Um.." She pushed her glasses up on her face. "Yes?" She said and then stood up.
"I'm.. uh.. I'm going to go."
"You can't just leave detention Miss Mckenna. I haven't dismissed you."
"Killian, why am I here?" Lyric asked
"Because I gave you detention."
"Which you told me I didn't have to show up to, only to change your mind because you were jealous over Will."
"I'm not Jealous Lyric." Killian argued.
"Really? Then why did you hold me back for detention just to seduce me?" Lyric asked and cross her arms over her chest.
"Is that what you think I am doing?" Killian asked with a chuckle.
"I don't think Killian, I know and I'm not playing this game with you. Either I am your student and you are my teacher and that is all. Or we are doing this but you can't have it both ways you can't kiss me and then try to act like it never happened the next day and then get jealous and do this when I make plans with someone else. So decide. Now." Lyric said.
"It's not that simple, I could lose my job. I want nothing more than to be able to do this with you Lyric. I want you so badly I can't see straight but this is my life." Killian said.
"It's not just your life. It's mine too and right now you're messing it up!" Lyric spat. "So choose."
"Don't make me choose right now Lyric it's a lot to think about." Killian said.
"It's a lot to think about but you will so effortlessly kiss me and tell me not to go back to boston, and then hold me back for detention and strut around with your freaking chest hair poking out trying to keep me from hanging out with Will for what? For you to turn around and tell me that we can't do this? I'm not doing it anymore. Choose now!"
"I can't." Killian said and threw his hands up.
"Then I choose for you." Lyric said and picked up her things and pushed her way past him out of the music building. Killian followed her outside and grabbed her wrist. She turned around and pulled her hand away
"Don't touch me!" She yelled. "I'm done with you!" She shouted and shoved him away from her before running off.

Lyric walked through the front door slamming it, she tossed her stuff aside and kicked off her shoes.
"Hey! Where have you been??" Darren asked.
"Detention." Lyric muttered "and no I don't want to talk about it and NO I am not hungry so leave me alone." Lyric said and took the pink slip out of her pocket and tossed it at him before walking up the stairs to her room and slamming that door shut too.
"Lyric Cadence!" Darren shouted and started up the stairs after her.
"Let me. You're too angry." Sarah sighed and walked up the stairs. She knocked on Lyrics door.
"Leave me alone." Lyric said through the door
"Nope. Sorry kid, I birthed you I get to come in those are the rules." Sarah said and twisted the knob and opened the door and walked in closing it behind her.
"So. What was that shit show about?" Sarah asked and sat down on the bed. "Bar guy?" She asked.
"You know about Bar guy?" Lyric asked.
"Yeah, Dad told me."
"Yeah. Its Bar guy." Lyric shrugged. "I told him to choose if he wants me, or if he just wants to keep playing games and he wouldn't. So.. I chose for him." Lyric said and wiped the smudged mascara from under her eyes.
"And you don't like what you chose?" Sarah asked.
"I hate it. I don't understand why it hurts so much. It was just a stupid summer fling and I wished it never would have happened."
"Well maybe bar guy means more to you than you think." Sarah said and pushed a strand of Lyrics hair out of her eyes.
"I don't want him to. I want him to just go away." Lyric sighed.
"Well I thought the same thing about your Dad when he knocked me up. I hated him., he wanted to go out and party and pretend like it never happened and I hated him for it. and then you came around and now I can't get the guy to go away." Sarah smirked. Lyric laughed a little.
"Its different. I'm not pregnant and we both can't seem to stay away from each other."
"Then why fight it?" Sarah asked.
"Because he isn't sure what he wants and I don't want to keep playing this game because its just messing everything up. I've lost all my focus. I got a D on my history test." Lyric sighed.
"A D on your history test? I guess we better lock you up and throw away the key you are getting out of control." Sarah laughed.
"I also yelled at the principal.. And got saturday school."
"I knew there was some of me in you after all." Sarah smiled.
"I'm glad you are cool with this, because Dad sounded like he wanted to kill me."
"Ah. Dad was a wild child too don't let him fool you. We just aren't used to this side of you."
"I don't really like it." Lyric laughed. "But ever since I met this guy its just been one thing after another."
"Love makes us do strange things honey." Sarah said.
"I don't love him mom." Lyric said and scrunched up her face.
"Are you sure? Because you have never acted this way before not even over Tyler."
"I was 14 mom. Tyler was just a cutesy little crush. I actually hooked up with this guy in the bathroom of a bar and then I went home with him and I still don't know why. Why him? Why me? What is it about this guy that makes me lose all sense of control over my life?" Lyric asked and flopped backwards on her bed pulling a pillow over her face. Sarah took the pillow off of her daughters face and smiled down at her.
"Love." She said.
"Gross." Lyric sighed.
"Agreed." Darren said walking into the room.
"You have to be at least a 5 on the scale of anger before stepping in here." Sarah said.
"Can we settle for 6?" Darren asked.
"We can settle for 6. I was kind of an asshole." Lyric sighed.
"You were. But you are my kid, so I can't expect any less." Darren smirked. Lyric threw a pillow at him.
"So this.." Darren said and held up the pink slip.
"I lost my temper in the principal's office." Lyric said. "The pom pom queen of hell told me I should give Mr. Nolan a blow job to fix my test grade and.. First off. Ew. second off, I really hate that bitch, and third, I told her to shut up but Mr. Nolan thought I was talking to him and kicked me out."
"Is that how you ended up with detention today?" Darren asked.
"No. I uh.. That's a different story." Lyric said "I've had a bad day."
"I can tell." Darren sighed. "I'm going to have to have a talk with bar guy if he keeps turning my kid into a delinquent."
No. God.. No.
"Don't worry about Bar guy Dad. I told him to take a hike."
"Maybe it's for the best. Now you can focus on what's important." Darren said.
"Mhm. World domination." Lyric grinned.
"Let's just start with girls night." Sarah laughed.
"Are we going to put dads hair in pigtails?" Lyric asked.
"No. We are not." Darren said. "I am going out with some buddies from work. You and mom are doing the pizza and ice cream thing."
"Just me and Mom?" Lyric asked.
"Well.." Darren said. "Maybe not." The doorbell rang.
"Did you already order the pizza?" Lyric asked and stood walking down the stairs. Her parents followed her, Darren clasped a hand over his wifes mouth to suppress her giggles. Lyric walked to the door and opened it.
"You still like Rocky road right?"
Lyric shrieked and threw her arms around the curly blonde headed girl at the door. Her best friend from Boston.
"Tink!" She squeaked.
"Tink can't breathe." Tink gasped.Lyric let her go and pulled her inside.
"But boston. You.. how?!" she asked.
"My parents are looking for a place around here because I convinced them that the school here is great." Tink shrugged.
"You're coming here?!"
"Yeah!" Tink smiled. Lyric screamed again and bounced up and down.she turned to her parents.
"You knew?" She asked.
"For a week now. Tink wanted it to be a surprise." Darren smiled.
"I start storybrooke tomorrow. I'm staying here a couple days while my parents get our house taken care of." Tink said.
"Oh. my God this is great Finally something good is happening!"
Sarah took the ice cream from Tink. "I'm going to put this in the freezer before it melts."
"I'm heading out. You girls have fun." Darren said and looked at Tink. "Keep these two in line yeah?"
"As always Mr. McKenna." Tink smirked and waved at him as he left.

Lyric swiveled in her computer chair while Tink was sprawled across her bed groaning.
"I ate too much." She said.
"There is no such thing as too much Pizza and ice cream." Lyric giggled and looked down at her phone as it vibrated for the 5th time that night finally deciding to check the messages

Killian:
I'm really sorry about today, it was extremely unprofessional. Forgive me?

I talked David into letting you retake your history test.

Are you really going to ignore me?

Are you alive?

In the event that you did not fall and die on your way home from school, I will see you tomorrow morning Miss Mckenna.

Lyric rolled her eyes and put her phone down.
"Whos that?" Tink asked.
"No one important." Lyric shrugged. Tink propped herself up on her elbows and glared at her best friend skeptically.
"We have been almost inseparable since preschool. I know when you are lying to me. Spill it." She smirked. Lyric sighed.
"It's just this guy I hooked up with this summer when I first moved here." Lyric said with a shrug. Tink sat up.
"My best friend Hooks up with someone and I don't even get a skype call??" She demanded.
"Well I didn't know where it was going." Lyric defended.
"Do your parents know?"
"Yeah. they.. Know part of it." Lyric said and bit her lip.
"Oh. I need to know. Fill in the blanks!" Tink begged.
"Well, I met him at the bar. You know how we got those fake IDs"
"To get into the open Mic nights. Yea yea. You met him at the bar. Go on." Tink said literally at the edge of the bed.
"He..was the bartender." Lyric smiled and twisted her hair in her fingers.
"So he's an older man." Tink grinned with her eyebrows raised.
"25."
"No. Way. 25?? That's like 7 years older than you!" Tink hissed.
"Yeah. I know. I went home with him and Oh my God.. Tink.." Lyric sighed. "It was the most amazing night of my life." She said as she spun in her chair.
"How was he? Was he nice? What's he look like?"
"He was..very nice. Very sweet, and gentle..at first." Lyric said her lips curved into a smirk.
"Oh. My. God." Tink said. "My best friend is a freak."
"I am not!" Lyric laughed. "He's got this really.. Amazing head of hair. It's dark and messy and you can just tangle your fingers in it and his eyes are so blue and he's got this scruffy face and an accent and I never thought I'd find chest hair attractive but.. Sweet jesus." Lyric sighed as her brain was becoming mush at the thought of Killian.
"Calm down over there." Tink laughed. "If hes so..perfect what made it fizzle out?"
"That.. is a little more difficult to explain." Lyric said and sighed. "And if I tell you you have to promise me not to tell anyone." She added.
"Of course I promise!" Tink said.
"I told him I was 22, and I was a college student which kind of.. Messed everything up when I get to school on the first day and.. See that hot bar guy is my music teacher."
Tink's mouth dropped open as she was at a loss for words.
"You.. a.. hes.. Teacher?? You slept with a tea-" Lyric walked over and clasped a hand over Tinks mouth.
"Shh!" She hissed. "Yes. But I didn't know he was my teacher and we haven't slept together since I found out i mean we almost did.. But we didn't. Okay?" Lyric asked. Tink nodded and Lyric let go of her mouth.
"Holy shit." Tink whispered.
"Yeah. I know." Lyric said and looked down at her hands. There was a knock on the door and then it opened.
"Dad you're back." Lyric smiled.
"Yep. Its time for you two to get to bed. You have school in the morning."
"But Dad..I haven't seen Tink in months!" Lyric Whined.
"Well you'll be seeing her from now on so I think you two will survive 8 hours of sleep. Yeah?" Darren smirked.
Lyric heard voices coming from down stairs.
"You invite your friends over?"
"Yeah we stopped at this bar that one of my co workers friends own and he turned out to be pretty cool so him and his brother came over with the rest of us to play cards. We'll try to be quiet."
"Oh. Cool. Well I'm going to run down to the kitchen to get a glass of water before bed you want anything Tink?"
"Nope I'm good." Tink smiled. Lyric adjusted her sleep shorts and her spaghetti strap top so she was at least somewhat decent. It was almost winter but her mother liked to keep the house super warm so Lyric was always sleeping in shorts. She walked down the stairs and into the kitchen and grabbed a glass and filled it at the tap.
"Lyric will you bring the case of beer in here?" Darren called from the living room.
"Yeah Dad." Lyric sighed and rolled her eyes and grabbed the case of beer from from the fridge and carried it to the living room.
"Here you g-" She started and looked up at her father, and two of his work buddies that she didn't know and the two very familiar faces on the couch. Killian.. And his brother Liam. She dropped the case of beer a couple of them fell and shattered onto the floor.
What the fuck is he doing here?
