8. Triple Date
*around a week later, at night*
"Have you ever tried Hurry-Scurry Herbert's?" Rosalina asked Luigi. The couple had just had a dinner date.
"The ice cream parlor?" Luigi questioned. Rosalina nodded. "Nope," Luigi replied.
"Seriously?" Rosalina said. "You'll love it! Let's go!" Luigi and Rosalina walked there. However, when they got there, they bumped into another couple. One that both of them already knew.
"It's you," Toadette glared at Rosalina, remembering how her former friend ditched the populars. And a few minutes later, another couple came.
"Hey, guys!" Birdo exclaimed, running over to the group and dragging Yoshi along with her.
"Bow!" Toadette squealed, temporarily forgetting about Rosalina. But, then, Birdo noticed Luigi and Rosalina.
"Oh, you're here," Birdo slightly frowned.
"Please don't hold a grudge against my friends right now," Yoshi told Birdo. Birdo sighed.
"Fine," she said, adjusting the big bow on her head.
"So, what brings you guys here?" Toad asked.
"Luigi and I were looking for a place to have dessert and I decided to bring him here because he has never eaten here before," Rosalina answered.
"Birdo and I just wanted to have ice cream," Yoshi said.
"Well... Perhaps we could all sit together," Toad suggested. Toadette slapped him. "Ow," Toad muttered. Luigi and Rosalina glanced at each other.
"Sure," Luigi shrugged, although he was slightly unsure.
"Ok!" Birdo grinned. The 6 students sat down at a booth.
*half an hour later*
Everyone had finished their ice cream and was just chatting. Well, sort of. They kept chatting about something, then it turned into an argument, then they changed the subject, then they argued again, and so on. Luigi glanced at Yoshi and realized he had not spoken in the past half hour. The only part of Yoshi that was moving was his eyes. That's when Luigi remembered something from long ago.
*flashback*
The class was full of chaos. 4th grade students were arguing and accusing each other and the teacher wasn't in the classroom at that moment. "Who stole Peach's hairbrush?" Daisy yelled above everyone else.
"Calm down, Dai!" Peach said.
"Stealing is bad!" Rosalina said.
"I didn't steal anything," Diddy answered.
"I don't even know what Peach's brush looks like!" Mario said.
"It's really pink and girly, why would I take it?" Bowser laughed.
"I bet she took it!" Waluigi exclaimed, pointing at Birdo.
"I didn't take it!" Birdo pouted.
"Guys, just give it back, I can't stand the noise!" Wario rubbed his eyes sleepily.
"I'm sure Daisy or Rosalina took it," Dixie said.
"You know what? I'm sure YOU took it!" Daisy snapped.
"How can you accuse us?" Rosalina questioned.
"It's ok, I can get a new one," Peach tried to calm her classmates, but failed.
"THE CLASSROOM IS SO LOUD!" Toadette wailed, putting her hands over her ears and making everyone become even louder.
"Maybe Yoshi took it. That's why he isn't saying anything," Toad suggested. Yoshi? Luigi turned to his seat mate and sure enough, Yoshi wasn't saying anything or moving. The only part of Yoshi that was moving was his eyes. His eyes were full of confusion, worry, and fear.
"Yoshi?" Luigi tried to get his friend's attention. But, there was no reponse.
*flashback over*
That incident left Luigi in confusion, but he finally knew the answer as to why Yoshi wasn't doing anything! He gets traumatized when a lot of people- populars, to be exact- argue at once. Yoshi had always hated arguments. However, he had another problem. If I stand up for my friends, I might break up with Birdo! Yoshi thought. But, if I stand up for Birdo, I'd be betraying my friends! What should I do? No one else noticed Yoshi's inactivity. Rosalina assumed Yoshi was on her and Luigi's side and Toad, Toadette, and Birdo all thought Yoshi was on Birdo's side. Fortunately, the teens eventually got tired of each other and all decided to go home.
*at Mario and Luigi's house*
"You think you're ready for the test now?" Mario asked.
"Yeah, I think so," Boo answered. The two friends had been studying for the past two hours for their big History test tomorrow.
"Shall we start the last part of our homework?" Mario held up a booklet.
"Sure," Boo replied. However, after about half an hour, Boo looked at the time and his eyes widened. "Darn," he muttered.
"What?" Mario asked.
"Uhh, I gotta go. I have to be somewhere. Bye!" Boo picked up his things and rushed out the door.
"Bye!" Mario called. That's weird, he thought. But, Mario thought nothing more of it.
I hope you liked this chapter. What do you think is up with Boo? I'm obsessed with this Taylor Swift song called "Enchanted". It reminds me of Daisy's feelings for Luigi. You should listen to the song. I would like to thank Angelite for voting for ALL of the chapters in this book so far! It really makes my day when people do those kinds of things. Anyways pls add, comment, vote, etc. Thanks!
