Muse of House Melpomene
1. What inspired you to start writing?
Well, to be extremely honest, I only started writing when I got inspired by all those 1D/Harry Styles fanfictions. But before that I used to record my voice while reciting my stories. I also used to video record hand puppets telling the tales lol. But I can safely say that I was a reader before I ever was a writer.
2. Do you complete research for your books? If so, what's your method?
There are two types of research in my opinion and one of those is my most favourite, internal research, the one which is exploring the plot. I follow methodical outlines for my first draft and while writing I decide if I want to go by it or not. The external research is only done for some specific genres, like mystery or thriller or crime.
3. If you had to pick one animal or thing that would represent your writing, what would it be?
Butterflies. I always have an element of self discovery in my books, regardless of what genre they represent.
4. What do you consider your writer's kryptonite?
Creativity blocks and oh! Poor internet.
5. Any plans for books or a series?
I actually do have the plans of a trilogy undercover at the moment. It's a mystery/thriller and a mix of romance. Still outlining it right now.
6. What is your ultimate goal for your book? tv show? movie? best seller? Hobby?
For my current book, I just can't see it as a best seller but yes, I see it as a movie. As much as it hurts me to say this, it feels like a hallmark movie lol. But yeah, a movie nonetheless.
7. Do you have a favorite character that you have written? If so, who? And what makes them so special?
I do have a favourite character and that is one of the main male leads of my current book, i.e. Searching Sydney. Terrance Knightly. The thing that makes him so special to me is maybe how open he is about his wounds and doesn't behave like a shade ass 'bad boy' while also making the reader fall for him.
8. Any last notes about your book for the readers?
Searching Sydney is not your regular romance read, and I know that a lot of people say this but seriously. You have to expect everything and nothing all the same while two characters explore themselves and each other through insomniac nights and a group of haughty children.

Dating someone is totally different from marrying them. And the former was definitely going well for Sydney's Facebook status until her long time boyfriend, Christian Palmer, bent down on one knee with a visibly glowing diamond ring in his hand.
She convinced herself that marrying a successful entrepreneur, the only one she's ever dated and loved, was not such a bad thing. But of course, her fiance wasn't done with popping surprises.
The very next day, she finds herself sitting in a business class seat for a flight to Hawaii.
Searching Sydney brings you a horde of surprises, a group of haughty children and an artist with a dead Muse. Get ready for a rollercoaster you never knew existed, till now.
Small Review: Love this book so very much! Beautifully written and suspenseful.
14 Tips from Stephen King on Writing
1. If you want to be a writer, you must do two things above all others: Read a lot and write a lot
2. Stories consist of three parts: Narration: which moves the story from point A to point B
Description: which creates a sensory reality for the reader
Dialogue: which brings characters to life through their speech.
3. The Situation Comes First The Characters-Always Flat and Unfeatured, To Begin With-Come Next.
4. Whether it's a vignette of a single page or an epic trilogy like The Lord of the Rings, the work is always accomplished one word at a time.
5. THE MOST INTERESTING SITUATIONS CAN USUALLY BE EXPRESSED AS A WHAT-IF QUESTION
6. The best stories always end up being about the people rather than the event.
7. With a passive verb, something is being done to the subject of the sentence. The subject is just letting it happen. You should avoid passive tense.
8. TALK, whether ugly or beautiful, is an index of character.
9. Description begins in the writer's imagination, but should finish in the reader's.
10. The road to hell is paved with adverbs.
11. NEVER USE EMOLUMENT WHEN YOU MEAN TIP
12. Set a Daily Writing Goal. As with physical exercise, it would be best to set this goal low at first. I suggest a thousand words a day.
13. Call that one person you write for Ideal Reader. He or she is going to be in your writing room all the time.
14. If you can do it for joy, you can do it forever.

What inspired you to start writing?
I don't think it was any one particular thing... I've always loved writing and reading. That sounds so utterly boring, but it's true. I enjoyed all aspects of English at school but especially letting my imagination run wild, putting characters and worlds down on paper; I found it therapeutic in a way.
I discovered fanfiction in my teens and wrote a Harry Potter fandom for a while, but I got flamed really bad so that put me off until now, I guess. I hadn't written anything in a long time (like 14 years). I've switched fandoms, and my love is still strong for fanfiction; there are better written fics out there then the original books in some instances... but yes, I guess I thought, why not? If other people are, why not me? I'm older, wiser, have way more life experiences that I can draw on. I have characters that want to be heard and stories that want to be told. It's a hobby and an outlet and I'm learning things all the time... the fact I get to share it with people and they read it is a bonus.
How do you handle Writer's Block?
Writer's block is the worst. When I'm struggling with something, I leave it. It's not going anywhere, but I am; I write something else, I moodboard things I know are coming up, I read something, I watch something. I re-read everything I've written and tweak it, and I read what I'm struggling with over and over. Even if I add a few words here or there... something clicks eventually and you can just... move on.
What genre(s) do you write and why?
White Noise, which is the book I'm posting at the moment, is very much a cross-section. There's mystery and suspense, romance, angst, drama, action. It's rooted in organized crime, and the consequence of actions but it features a lot of heavy hitting stuff, it's not your typical mafia story, it's not your typical adult novel. It's real and it hurts to write. I wanted a gritty love story with something more that's what it is.
I'm currently writing a coming of age story though, much less dark, all the teenage angst.

Blurb: Mia has a secret.
Her boyfriend Luke has one too.
Mia wants nothing to do with Luke's shady drug dealings. Luke has other ideas.
Forced into doing him a favor, Mia suddenly finds herself on the wrong side of the wrong sort of people.
All except one.
Miles gives Mia all the right kind of butterflies. Disarming, dangerous, and with an interest in her she doesn't understand, their relationship puts Mia on a one way collision course with the truth.
And the truth?
Well, the truth is a dangerous thing.

Small Review: You are pulled into an immersive setting from the start. Beautifully written work.

What inspired you to start writing?
I loved reading since I was a kid, and growing up I did a lot of that to deal with the stress of school. One day, I decided to write my own story after reading a book and not liking how it ended. As soon as I put my fingers on the keyboard, scenes and images started popping into my head. The rest was history.
How do you handle Writer's Block?
I'm one of the guilty parties in dealing with major writer's block. I try to challenge myself to write at least 10 words a day and that always seems to work. I never want to stray too far away from my story or else I start losing interest in it.
What genre(s) do you write and why?
I write Paranormal Romance and Mystery/Thriller. I love those genres because you can do so much with them. You don't always see both being mixed up together, usually it's just 2 of those genres mixed together, but never all 3. I wanted to make the chance in bringing all 3 together in hopes that maybe some else will also enjoy the mix and flare of it.
Title: A Deadly Game
Cover:
Blurb: A case that keeps multiplying...

And to make matters worse, those six bodies have only belonged to females, mutilated in a horrifying way. With panic beginning to grow from the general public, answers are needed and the killer caught. Fast.
Brings two people together...
When Nate Sanders, a highly decorative Alpha and one the Prime Minister personally recommends gets called in on the case, many expect for everything to be resolved. There has never been a case he could not solve... until this one. Mysterious things begin to happen when he's partnered with Zara, and willing to not lose the one partner he finally feels comfortable with, he's prepared to shield her from it all.
Only for the killer to hate it all.
Yet the killer sets his eyes on another victim and this one is hitting too close to home. It's up to the powerful duo to stop him before things take an even bloodier turn. One that can't be brought back to life.

What inspired you to start writing?
From a young age, I've been an avid reader. Seeing all these brilliant authors having the courage to share their stories made me realize that I have stories to tell, too.
How do you handle Writer's Block?
I handle writer's block by reading other books to get inspiration for my own story, or listening to music to get me in the writing mood (I recommend upbeat music).
What genre(s) do you write and why?
I write teen fiction or mystery (like I'm writing right now) because those are the types of books, TV shows, and movies I read and watch the most.
