"That's it"

I suddenly got a idea as I pick up the table cloth and use the knife to cut into stripes, "What you doing?"

I turn around to see Melanie standing there, "I need your help" I tells her.

Melanie follow my instructions as we tie the strips together..."There!"

"That should do it!" I said as I admire our work.

"It's...a rope!" she stated.

Me and Melanie lower the rope out of the window and tied the other end to the kitchen tap.

"Yes! It just about the reaches the ground" I told Melanie and she tug my arm a bit.

"We're going...out the window?" Melanie asked.

"This is our ticket out of here!" I assuress her and she nod her head.

Then she steps back, "I wonder if my brother's down there?" Melanie wondered.

"Melanie seems preoccupied. I wonder what's wrong, but we don't have much time" I thought.

I went and climb out of the window, grabbing hold of the rope, "Be carefully" she told me.

"Melanie looks worried, but everything will be fine" I thought.

I saw a shadowy figure starting to climb up the rope!
