Everyone froze.

The sound of the lights flickering off wavered, heavy. No one spoke, the only sounds even breathing and shuffling footsteps.

"Wh-who did that?" Papisuu asked nervously.

Dawson's head tilted up, her vision adjusting to the softer melting blending faces of everyone else in the room.

Her eyes widened, and she whimpered slightly.

"Seriously, who shut off the lights?"

"Cassie, turn the lights back on!" Stacy demanded, her anger seeming to have melted, feeling fear fogging on her face.

Cassie's response shot ice up everyone's spines.

"It wasn't me!"

"Guys," Fangirl's voice stumbled in the dark. "I feel something next to me-"

Silence.

Then a sickening thud.

Everyone's stomach seemed to be dropped onto the floor, as they, with wide eyes, stared at the empty space.

Then the sound of a body thudding against the carpet.

Papisuu's face turned pale.

The uneasy feeling washing over everyone had turned into pure abashment, unable to move.

Someone had just died.

Someone suddenly spluttered.

"There's something on me!" Lysa whimpered.

Sure enough, the lights came back on with the same clunking sound, and everyone looked to the carpet.

Investigator and Lizzie screamed.

Fangirl lay crumpled on the floor, a gash in her back. Light particles of blood had ended up on Lysa's face.

Everyone's jaw dropped. Stacy and Papisuu shakily backed away from the body, with pale faces and milky eyes.

"F-Fangirl...?" Papisuu asked, whimpering slightly at the sight of her friend lying on the floor.

Suddenly, the lights flickered, and went off just as Fangirl despawned, her stuff scattering everywhere.

"S-she can't be dead...she can't be..." apersonofboredom shook her head softly, completely taken aback.

Then the lights came back on, and the entire room turned into a blue atmosphere, pumpkins hanging from the small chandelier.

White pumpkins.

They glowed red and blue in the room, the slate colour exploding into the room as Fangirl's stuff riffled through the room.

Then a deep electronic voice boomed around the room.

"GREETING, 'ADVENTURERS.' I...AM THE NEW WHITE PUMPKIN."

Thunder rumbled across the earth. The trees outside swayed as the sky remained as dark as ever, the fog stirring softly.

Stampy lost it.

He ran around the room, arms up in the air, his chocolate hair waving wildly as he screamed, "PANICPANICPANICPANICPANICPANICPANIC!!!"

"Stampy! Pull yourself together!"

"PANICPANICPANICPANICPANIC!!!"

The voice continued as Stacy desperately tried to calm Stampy down, tugging on his arm as he ran past her and Lizzie.

"I SEE THE FIRST GUEST HAS FALLEN...A SHAME, REALLY, BUT HEY, AT LEAST I'M ONE STEP CLOSER."

The voice had no emotion, just simple.

Almost...amused.

The portrait on the wall of the dining room that everyone was facing had turned from the dark, becoming a picture of a figure.

The figure in the portrait had on an all-navy blue uniform, with small buttons of the side, and a white pumpkin for a head.

An enchanted axe glowed in the figure's hand.

Stampy continued screaming, blocking out everyone.

"I WILL HAVE THE FLINT AND STEEL, EVEN IF I HAVE TO RESORT..."

There was a slight pause.

Suddenly, lightning struck the windows, lashing the earth with rain, thunder rumbling slowly.

"...TO MURDER," The voice finished.

Lightning crashed against the empty windows, the outside world completely dark outside.

"GOOD LUCK PARTICIPANTS, HAPPY HUNGER GAMES, AND MAY THE ODDS BE EVER IN YOUR FAVOR!"

Stacy's eyes widened.

Did he just say...?

Lightning slashed the windows again, and everyone went completely insane.

Several people yelled, a few screamed, Stampy continued his shouting; Stacy herself began backing up while shaking her head.

"The doors are locked!" Papisuu panicked, unable to move the doors from their place.

Shreds of voices lashed across the room like cuts.

"New White Pumpkin!?"

"This is insane."

"I'm too beautiful to die!!"

"There's no such thing as white pumpkins!"

Stampy felt a pang of sadness, before stopping for a brief second to yell at Silver, "Tell that to all the white pumpkins having all over the place!!"

Silver whimpered while Stampy continued running around, everyone else having panicked insanely.

Then...

...all at once, the lights flickered back to the normal haze, thunder rolling like origami shreds folding over in the distance.

The orange glow that had once lit the room had gone out, and was now replaced by dim light.

No one said anything.

They just stood in shocked silence, standing, waiting, shaking. Stampy's voice gave out, and he whimpered.

Slowly, the few who had been hiding underneath the table emerged, rubbing their fingers of the small edged wooden sides.

"I..." Lizzie choked.

"I...is everyone okay?" She looked around at the invited standing like deer in the headlights.

There were scattered mumbles of, 'yeah,' and, 'we're fine.'

The only sound in the quiet of the room was the thunder is the distance, and everyone's shaky breathing.

Lizzie breathed in deeply, and exhaled, then put her head into her hands and starting pacing the room, mumbling, "ok...ok..." lost.

While Lizzie paced around the room mumbling to herself, Stacy glanced outside miserably.

"Guys...it's nighttime now...we won't be able to get out until morning..." She turned away from the outside world quickly.

Though the others all looked outside longingly, longing to be outside in the cool crisp air.

Stampy's legs gave out, and he sand to his knees. He looked over at Fangirl's stuff strung around.

"Sorry about your friend," He consoled to the others, deeply saddened and scared.

apersonofboredom looked silently to her friend's stuff. Instantly, tears fogged her view and blinded her eyes.

Clouding her thoughts.

She sniffed and wiped her nose with her sleeve.

"It's ok..." She sighed.

"I just can't believe she's gone," Investigator replied miserably, voice still shaking.

"Me neither," Papisuu agreed, relaxing her grip on the handles of the door, coming to sit by the others.

As she did, the doors creaked open.

"Air!" Comet yelped, rushing towards the exit of the dining room, throwing open the doors in a panic.

Several others followed.

The only ones still in the room were the youtubers, Cassie, her small calico cat, Papisuu, Boredom, Investigator, Dawson, and Crystal.

They all sat, stood, or paced (In Lizzie's case) in silence, looking from one person to the other sadly.

Crystal hovered over Fangirl's stuff as the body despawned in a quick puff of smoke.

"What are you doing?" Dawson asked, her face still white and milky.

Crystal's eyes squinted slightly.

"...Just seeing if she has that enchanted sword."

"CRYSTALSONG!!"

"What!?" She asked, turning around.

Apersonofboredom facepalmed.

Lizzie had now stopped pacing, ands turned to everyone else, "This is like the murder mystery all over again, isn't it?"

Stacy suddenly turned to Cassie.

"Cassie, this was you, wasn't it?"

Cassie looked completely abashed, shaking her head and trying desperately to explain herself.

"What!? No, of course not!! How could you say that!?"

Stampy looked up.

"Why should we believe you?"

Papisuu stepped between the three, looking back and forth, then inhaling and exhaling.

"Ok, everyone just hang on. Let's just calm ourselves down in the main living room and figure out what to do, okay?"

The remaining looked at each-other, then shakily nodded at Papisuu. She smiled slightly and walked out.

"Ok, good."

The rest headed towards the living room, where everyone was else was sitting on the couches.

"What was all that business with the, 'flint and steel,'?" Wondered Comet aloud, looking like she was about to throw up.

"I don't know..." Rush admitted.

The youtubers, Papisuu, Boredom, Crystal, Dawson, and Investigator sat in the circle of the participants.

Some were on the polished quartz couches, some on the floor with their backs to the couches, and some lay on the floor, staring at the ceiling.

Lysa handed out blankets and hot cocoa. Everyone couldn't concentrate, but wrapped the navy and cream blankets around themselves.

Lizzie sat next to Stacy, who had chosen to sit on the armrest of the couch, much like she had a couple of weeks ago.

Last time there was a murderer on the loose.

Stampy sat nearby, next to Investigator and Dawson, sipping the hot cocoa that had been offered to him, a bit calmer now.

"I don't get it though...they're after the flint and steel, just like Cassie, so who would try to steal it other than Cassie?" Lizzie wondered.

"Cassie," Stacy replied, almost bored.

"She said other than me," Cassie snapped back.

"Ok, let's just all sit, relax, and calm down, ok? It's a bit tense, and we need to calm down," apersonofboredom reasoned.

Everyone agreed.

Even Stacy and Cassie glanced at each other and nodded silently, signifying a quiet truce for the moment.

Aranna suggested that Stacy, Lizzie, Stampy, and Cassie tell them what happened the few weeks ago.

So everyone sat quietly, sipping their hot cocoa and wrapping themselves in their soft cozy little blankets.

Rain drummed on the windows softly, padding across the sides as the youtubers explained what had happened.

A few weeks ago, everyone had been invited to this mansion. They had been killed one-by-one by Cassie.

Cassie had come up with a name for herself. The White Pumpkin. She then killed two other youtubers.

DanTDM and CaptainSparklez.

The others had been devastated.

There were others too.

They had all managed to survive, a few more deaths accruing throughout the day.

Along with other things, too.

Stampy had been accused of murder. Dan had been killed by spiders filling the library, which proved to be too much for him.

Stacy had gone agro, accusing many of murdering. Lizzie was the first to be interrogated. Cassie had pretended to be innocent.

They all managed to escape when Cassie was found out and faked her own death.

The survivors then got to go home with the flint and steel, enchanted to go into other worlds.

"Well no wonder Cassie wanted that so badly!" Silver interrupted. Other world, adventures, no duh!"

Cassie flushed, shaking her head and her milky eyes fogging over, too caught up in the story.

"Actually, I wanted those so that I could go home...I studied the enchanted flint and steel for years..."

Everyone looked at her as Cassie stared at the floor sadly.

"Finally, I got to go home...by inviting everyone here...but...I guess that didn't work out so well, so..."

She laughed awkwardly as colour washed across her face softly, her eyes foggy and miserable.

No one said anything.

"Well, I vote that we look around...make sure it's safe. We could go see how she died, probably."

"Uh...guys?"

Everyone turned.

Rush was standing under one of the portraits. Phoenix came up to her friend and followed her gaze.

Her mouth dropped slightly.

The portrait of Fangirl, standing bravely holding an enchanted iron sword, her straight hair swooped at the bottom like a fishnet...

...had a giant painted X across it, slashed like embers had melted into its core, rain slashing on it.

"Does that mean I'm next?" Silver asked, pointing to where her portrait lay right next to the Xed out portrait of Fangirl.

Rush glanced at Phoenix, and both their eyebrows in sympathy for the smaller girl.

Phoenix answered her.

"I don't think so...not if we play it smart."

Lizzie silently counted the portraits in her head, slightly mumbling them and pointing to them slowly.

"Ok, if Silver's right, that means that she's next."

Silver whimpered.

Dawson patted her back sympathetically.

"Then it would be Crystal, Investigator, Dawson..." She went and turned across to the other side of the room.

"...Then Cassie, Stampy, Stacy, me, Rush..."

She turned to the side walls.

"...Then Aranna, Phoenix, Kendall, Liv, Comet, Boredom, Lysa, and then finally, Papisuu."

Lizzie turned towards everyone else.

"So...should we see how Fangirl died, maybe?" Stacy suggested. Lizzie nodded and smiled.

"Sure."

"But who's gonna go?" Investigator asked.

Everyone glanced at her, and Investigator's face placed her eyes widening. "Wait...you don't mean me, do you?"

Everyone smiled.

"Well," Aranna murmured, amused. "You are dressed up like an investigator."

"Ohnonononono, I do not do well around blood."

Stacy sighed and took the small girl by her arm, dragging her towards the ding table to investigate.

"Don't' worry, I'll come with you."

Investigator sighed as the youtuber dragged her by her arm, Investigator giving the famous three-fingered salute before disappearing behind the doors.

After a couple seconds, Rush mumbled softly as the rain padded softly against the windows, "doo-doo-doo-doo..."

"Can you not?" Kendall asked her, shivering at the haunting whistle.

Rush coughed. "Sorry."

The two entered.

"Ok, let's hope that it was just a Redstone malfunction, so we don't have to worry about a murderer."

Investigator nodded.

Stacy and Investigator entered the dining room, the light back to the blue haze and the slowly glowing white pumpkins around the room.

Fangirl's stuff lay hazily on the ground.

Stacy picked them all up, and then handed them to Investigator. They both kneeled towards the ground.

They heard a small click.

Just above them, just above the portrait of the White Pumpkin, was an edged, slightly off Redstone machine, polished to look like the ceiling.

"Maybe that's what killed her?' Investigator suggested. Stacy looked back up at the ceiling, then shook her head.

"No...that's what killed CaptainSparklez last time, and remember? She had a huge gash in her back."

"Oh...right."

"Only a weapon could do that much damage towards her...so...someone had to have killed her."

Ice shot through their backs, and a sting seemed to vibrate around the room uneasily.

Someone had killed her.

"Well...there goes my theory of Redstone glitching..." Stacy murmured shakily.

They both exited.

Everyone's head turned.

"So? What'd you find?" Asked Lizzie anxiously, standing up and walking up to Stacy and Investigator, smiling warmly.

"Someone killed her."

Lizzie snorted.

"No duh Sherlock."

"But we don't know who, or what killed her...it could have also been a Redstone trap, but we doubt it."

"Here, lemme help," Rush offered, slipping into the dining room suddenly, silently and quietly.

Silence.

Then a scream, and the sound of a Redstone trap going off. Then a thud of a body.

Phoenix, Comet and Aranna shared a look of horror, having all come here with Rush.

They ran past Investigator, Stacy, and Lizzie, into the dining room, everyone else clustering behind the doors.

Stacy threw the doors open in a panic.

Rush lay where Sparklez had been killed, the Redstone trap ticking and lifting, pebbles and sand falling from the cracks.

Facedown, Rush lay shakily, breathing softly. Phoenix breathed a sigh of relief.

"She's okay," She reassured Aranna and Comet. They all shared sighs of relief.

Stacy and Stampy walked over to them in the slate blue haze of the white pumpkins hanging from the top.

"She should stay here, so she can rest. She looks wounded, and she might become worse if we wake her up."

Lizzie stepped forwards, giving them a small rounded bottle, with stirring pink mixtures, bubbles and particles filling the space.

"Here, it's a potion of healing and regeneration," She pointed out, handing the potion swiftly towards Stacy.

Aranna grabbed Rush's shoulders, her head lolled to one side, her eyes open slightly, milky, her breathing shaky.

Comet opened her mouth to breathe in and out, trying to calm herself. She's gonna be fine...she assured herself.

Phoenix positioned Rush's head onto Aranna's lap, as everyone hovered in the doorway, concerned for them.

Her mouth slightly opened, Stacy poured the sweet-vanilla smelling liquid into Rush's mouth.

Waiting.

Silence.

Nothing.

Just the soft sounds of Rush's sound breathing as the unconscious girl swallowed the mixture.

Still nothing.

Without warning, Cassie lost it.

She ran past the group towards the doors, yelling, "That's it! Our host is insane! HE'S BEEN HERE THE ENTIRE TIME, AND I AM SO OUT OF HERE!!!"

She pounded on the doors to the mansion, her hands turning red and her face becoming sweaty.

Desperately she threw her fists on the doors, screaming her head out, a whining tone in her head emitting highly.

Suddenly the doors clicked, and she threw them open, cold reliving air rushing into, enveloping her red face.

"Guys! I did it, we're free to-"

A zombie, without warning, stuck her arm, leaving a long scratch across her arm down to her wrist.

Cassie winced in pain and stumbled backwards, backing up shakily as zombies flooded into the mansion's steps.

They came out of the cold black night, out of the fog, with a small slate blue line being splashed across the horizon.

In tones of olive and grey, they came, pouring into the mansion, just away from the doors.

Cassie couldn't move. The small calico cat – the others had heard her call him, "Winslow," – hissed by her side.

Stacy panicked.

"Shut the door, shut the door!!!"

She ran to Cassie's side, shutting the doors, the zombies retreating until te doors shut behind them.

Stacy breathed a sigh of relief, breathing heavily as she closed and locked the doors.

Cassie picked up Winslow lovingly. She sighed and looked at Stacy with a look of empathy and concern.

"Well, I guess we';re stuck in here..." Her voice wavered for a second, then turned alarmed.

"And if we're stuck in here....we're all doomed."

The other participants came out of the dining room, looking at the two with concern. Comet pointed to the door.

"Zombies?"

Stacy and Cassie nodded in unison.

"Well, I for one say that we go around this mansion and disable the traps. It'll be easier to hide out that way.

After they're disabled, we can all hide out until morning, when the zombies will be gone," Lizzie commented in her usual calm British voice.

Stacy nodded, slightly shaken up.

"Good plan."

The doors all at once swung open.
