Hi.....

...I have some explaining to do.

Before you read this book, I want you guys to know the background of this story...because then you'll feel more connected to the story.

..and because it's cool....

So, this started because I found out about Joey Graceffa's, 'escape the night.'

I didn't have the guts to watch it, so I basically read the wiki.

I just LOVED the concept of youtubers being trapped in a mansion, stuck until morning, with a murderer on the loose.

(Plus escape the night is just awesome.)

I also played minecraft story mode episode 6.

I just LOVED IT SO MUCH.

(Ok well maybe not all the Lukesse shipping but I didn't really care.)

So, I've decided to write a book as a tribute to, 'Escape the night,' and, 'Story mode episode 6.' So i asked for participants.

All willing to be subjected to my weird mind.

...anyways...

I wrote for so long, a script version of a story that I called to myself, 'Murder Mansion.'

All the participants loved it.

(Thank you by the way you guys are beautiful ^-^.)

I finally finished writing the first part of it on Halloween, right before I, an avoider of human sunlight, subjected myself

to be outside.

I was a very snazzy Papyrus.

(Literally running across people's lawns yelling, "THE GREAT PAPYRUS DEMANDS YOU NOT TO SHOOT YOUR WEAPONS!!" while getting candy...)

(..also just now realizing my friend went as Undyne...wow.)

I finished the rest of the murder mystery a couple weeks later (ok, maybe it was months, I'm sorry >_<)

I was re-watching episode 6

and re-reading Escape the night

(One day I will have the guts to watch it...)

When I came across The Hunger Games wiki

ahhhh

Ok...I became..obsessed.

Needless to say.

I always remember when I was like, 5, and my cousin would always bring her copy of the Hunger Games over.

I was never allowed to read it, but she would tell me everything about it.

Peeta.

Rue.

Glimmer.

Muttations.

Cato.

Track-jackers.

the Capital.

Effie Trinket.

The three fingers and the haunting whistle (so spoopy)

I never really got what she meant, but it did sound really cool.

So I read the wiki, and holy cows.

I watched so many parodies.

So many Hunger Games short films.

So many trailers.

Read ALL the wikis.

Researched the whole soundtrack.

Saved behind the scenes pictures.

Skimmed all the books and read a few chapters from, 'the hunger games,' and, 'catching fire.' and got so inspired.

(i feel like my cousin would be proud...)

I just couldn't even wrap my head around it's concept.

It was so simple.

Post-apocalyptic. Capitol controls everything. Everyone in districts. Every year, send one boy and girl from each district to fight to the death on live TV.

Ok...simple enough.

But I'm not normal

(obviously)

so

my thought process is different.

Everything has a colour palette, an atmosphere, a tone, and the Hunger Games's tone was exploding.

I still couldn't wrap my head around the whole idea. The tributes, the training, the behind the scenes, them all having fun when not being filmed.

The arena, the alliances, how cruel the capitol is, how unfair people think it is when a younger tribute is chosen.

How everyone was united until the Capitol forces them to fight to the death in front of all of North America.

How Katniss felt sympathy for so many fallen tributes, and how angry she felt that The Capitol didn't care if a tribute died.

But how they thought of it as, 'honor,' with a whole theme, reaping, video, bowl with names, with the whole world watching.

The colours, the forest, the tv, the dark and tan colours of everything, warmer when Katniss and Gale are hunting and darker when the games begin.

Well, for me at least.

But it's just so mind-blowing to me.

I dunno why.

Sorry i'm getting off topic.

(ugh I'm terrible at describing my thoughts geez.)

Rue is my favorite.

She will be missed. ;-;

I still shiver at the whistle.

Mokingjay needed a happier ending.

Foxface is my senpai.

I miss my childhood.

...but I love it.

Ok moving on!

So i decided to re-write the murder mystery, as a book form.

Get more participants.

...and the things is that all the real-life participants will only know their fate,but no one else's...

And have an all-out MURDER MANSION HALLOWEEN NIGHT OF...TERROR......I gotta work on the name. x)

have everyone trapped in the mansion until morning...make them try to find a way out of the mansion...have a murderer on the loose...

And this time, it had inspiration from Story Mode, Escape The Night, AND The Hunger Games. Everything in the story suddenly became better,

Well-rounded.

More polished and clean.

Better.

I came up with a subtitle.

"May the odds be ever in your favor."

Not original, but I liked it.
