Reuniting with Doggos
A/n: Hey, so I'm not dead! I've just been busy with school work and honestly I lowkey thought I deleted my Wattpad account because I think some of my earlier stories are... questionable. I'll try updating more often but I can't promise anything 😅
Anticipation buzzed through the teen's body as she paced amongst the sea of dogs. Will was out. They were finally letting him out. No words felt fitting enough to describe the excitement coursing through her. She couldn't wait to finally get to talk to the older genius freely. There were things she needed to tell Will, things Ashley could never share with the BAU, not even with Spencer Reid.
Most of these things undoubtedly revolved around Hannibal Lecter, but there were other things too. Her dreams had gotten progressively weirder for one thing, which couldn't be a good sign. Will of all people would understand that demigods didn't have dreams at all. They had visions.
The one thing a majority of the visions had in common was that they all took place at night. Other than that, they seemed to take time in different places and times. The people in the dreams always seemed so familiar, but she couldn't see their faces and their voices sounded muffled, like they were underwater.
The dreams weren't the only thing bothering the young necromancer. She was pretty sure someone or something was watching her. Ashley never saw this presence, but she was certain it wasn't in her head. The training instilled during her childhood might be rustier than Ashley would like, but she wasn't rusty enough to miss someone psychically probing. Mentally, she sent them an image of her beheading Medusa as a little "fuck off." If anything, this just seemed to amuse the nuisance.
Something was coming, that much Ashley knew. The question was simple: what was coming?
She didn't get long to dwell on the question before the sound of car wheels over gravel with excited barks from the dogs drew her attention. She waited until the car was stopped before opening the door and letting loose the pack.
The teen couldn't help but smile at the way Will's face lit up as he knelt down to greet the eager dogs. It was only a matter of time now before Jack Crawford came knocking without so much as a proper apology or a second thought. It was nice to let Will have this moment of peace after everything.
"Hey, I don't remember you."
Ashley grin grew as Will finally noticed the new addition to the family. Although how he had managed to miss a gigantic black mastiff with glowing red eyes was beyond her. Despite still being a puppy, Abigail had already easily grown to be twice the size of a regular dog. Soon she wouldn't be able to fit inside the house at all if Amelia didn't finish that enchanted collar she had promised to make.
"Mrs. O'Leary had puppies. Percy's head might be full of kelp, but he's smart enough to know I would've rioted if I didn't get one."
Will hummed softly to himself at the mention of Ashley's camp friends. She spoke of them fondly, but her words were often laced with bitter longing. The young teen made friends surprisingly easy considering she was an ex-assassin. What she didn't have in abundance was close friends.
Annabeth Chase and Percy Jackson were probably some of the people who knew her best. They knew Ashley well enough to not be surprised that she couldn't help but envy the fact that they fit in so much better than she did. Everything changed after everyone found out just which god she was related to.
By the time Percy stumbled into camp, it was well known that she was related to Hades. Luckily for her, Percy seemed to take it in stride. She couldn't have cared less at the young age of twelve. Ashley didn't want friends, she wanted a quest, a chance to prove she belonged.
Percy Jackson only stayed away because Ashley had asked him to. She had explained as much. Loyalty was his Achilles heel. If she allowed him to stay by her side, Ashley had no doubt she would be the death of him.
The phone ringing could be heard from inside the house. "Shh, maybe he'll go away." Will looked amused as the phone started ringing again and Ashley let out a groan. "I swear Jack can't do ANYTHING by himself."
How Jack Crawford became the head of the Behavioral whatever you call it was beyond Ashley. She doubt even Sherlock Holmes wouldn't be able to figure it out.
But no matter, because she had a plan. Truthfully, Ashley didn't have very high faith in her chances of survival, but she was a demigod who partially grew up in GOTHAM. If there was one thing she was good at, it was mutually assured destruction. Ashley can and WOULD take Hannibal Lector down with her, even if it was the last thing she did.
