So I've noticed that I have a bad habit of switching from the hero and civilian names. Whoops.

I planned to update this much earlier, but I hated this way that this chapter had previously turned out, so I practically rewrote it all....sorry??😬

Oh look... a filler chapter :/ yippe :///

After the whole Deathstroke being alive ordeal, Renegade was slightly- no scratch that- completely on edge. He refused to go outside anywhere to hang out with the team. He refused to be left alone in a room for more than 10 minutes (other than for sleeping, which was still terrifying for him). Though the team didn't quite pick up on his behavior until several days after when they were assigned a mission in Bludhaven.

The teenagers noticed how much more Renegade didn't want to go on the mission, and they especially noticed how jittery he was on the entire ride in game bio-ship. The youngest of the group had jumped at every small sound, but when asked why, he claimed that it was necessary in order to be a good hero. As he so expertly quoted,"Expect the unexpected."

"What's got you so panicked recently?" Artemis asked as the team now rested within the Mountain before the mission report. They had just returned from the said mission in Bludhaven and they all were practically exhausted.

Renegade shrugged,"You know, just watching out for fangirls. You wouldn't understand, you being ugly and all." He pulled up his holo-computer, being that they all were still in uniform, and began to play a game.

"I doubt you have any fans,"The blonde rolled her eyes,"But seriously, why have you been really on edge?"

"On edge? Nah, I've been off the edge. For sure." The teen hopped on the soft green sofas of the Mountain, lying down and propping his feet on the top of the sofa.

M'gann spoke up,"Are you sure you're okay? You seemed really worried today. Perhaps your memories are affecting your behavior."

Renegade was too engrossed in his game, no longer paying any kind of attention, or perhaps he was just pretending as if he wasn't paying attention. Most likely the latter.

"How the hell is this loser beating me? Who does pewdiepie think they are?"

Then the zeta beam went off,"Recognized: Batman 02." Renegade said nothing, but frowned when he heard that Batman had changed the zeta tube names to the default setting. The teen made a mental note to go back in later. He had come up with some good ones and refused to let them die.

"He must be here for the mission report." Aqualad stood up, as did the rest of the team, as they made their way to meet up the Dark Knight. They all just wanted to hurry and give the report so they could go take a shower and pass out in bed. It was pretty late, after all.

As soon as they approached the hero, Aqualad began,"The mission was a success,"The leader went on to explain the details and main events of the mission.

Batman seemed to be pleased with everything that has been said,"I'm proud. This team has really been pro-"

"Woo-hoo! I'm amazing! Ren:) is now 1st place! Whoop, whoop!" Renegade randomly interrupted as he threw his hands up in the air, celebrating his win on his game.
He smiled with pride and threw his fists up in the air.

"Renegade."Batman, who seemed far from amused, was quick to scold him.

"It's okay, Bats. I won't forget you when I'm famous. You can be in my autobiography. I'll name your chapter: And I Thought I Was Bad." He put a hand to his chest as he spoke.

"Renegade."

"Don't worry, I'll use a pseudonym. You'll be Brat-man. No one will even have a clue who I'm talking about." Renegade threw out his hand as he spoke.

"Be quiet!" With one shout, the boy was silenced,"Your level of disrespect lately has been quite intolerable and I don't understand why."

"...So is your constant nagging but you don't hear me complaining." The teen retorted under his breath.

"He's right Ren, someone PMS-ing?" Kid Flash snickered.

"If PMS stands for Pack My Stuff, then yes, because I am out of here." He began to strut away.

Batman spoke up again,"Stop. You aren't going anywhere. You're staying here and I want you to enlighten me as to why you have been extremely disobedient lately."

"If you must know, I think you should stop sending me on missions,"The ebony replied simply,"Hell, I'm tired of staying here. I just want to live my own life, without this dumb little bracelet and you heroes stalking me."He blurt out before considering what he was saying thus causing an awkward silence to immediately filled the air.

"Excuse you?" Batman questioned.

Renegades statement earned a few "what?" 's and "why?" 's from the team as if it was a surprise that he wanted to leave.

"Well, all this unnecessary action is very unhealthy for a young boy such as I and I do not wish to grow up to become a serial killer. They say just video games will do that, so imagine what this will do to my mental health."

"You don't wish to grow up to be a serial killer? Only two months ago you would have decided against that." Batman added,"Two months ago you were killing people. How do I know that if I let you go, you won't do the same?"

"Yes, while that all may be true, I am a changed boy now. I don't even take all the money from people's wallets anymore, I leave them at least five dollars. Just take a look at Artemis' purse."

"What did you do?!"

Batman was not exactly believing his words, and he couldn't be blamed. It's not like there was much to support the ex-assassins case,"You were hesitant to subdue Ivy last week. That hardly shows change."

"And you're hesitant to subdue Cat Woman, unless it's in the bed. What's your point?"

That statement easily quieted the room.

Batman deeply inhaled as a sign of being aggravated,"You have not changed and I will not stop sending you on missions simply because you are growing lazy. You are now a part of this team, whether you like it or not."

"You realize that I was unwillingly put on this team right?"

"Not necessarily, you could have choose Juvie."

Renegade groaned loudly.

Kid Flash stepped up,"Wait, you have been really on edge lately. Does that have to do anything with why you don't want to go on missions?"

Renegade mentally slapped the ginger. He just had to mention that, didn't he,"I just realized that I have more enemies than I previously accounted for. Now, is that still a denial of my request?"

"I'll reconsider it if you tell me exactly what occurred while you were in Central City,"Batman negotiated. Renegade made a face which could only be described by the words "Yup, I'm screwed". He had managed to avoid telling anyone about what actually happened in Central City for a while now. Though apparently, if he wanted out, he had to tell them the truth...

"Yeah, and explain why you ki- uh... yeah- came to Central." Kid Flash stuttered, causing the attention to briefly fall on him. Renegade smirked knowingly. The speedster had told Batman and the team that he had run into Renegade in Central City, but he failed to mention the kiss, obviously embarrassed. Basically, Batman knew close to nothing of what occurred in Central.

Unfortunately for the bat-themed hero, no cameras had gotten footage of Renegade (which Deathstroke probably made sure of), therefore making his past actions unknown. And Renegade had made sure not to spill any information to Kid Flash, who seemed even more upset about being left clueless than Batman.

Renegade rolled his eyes,"Okay, okay, if you insist. But only because Flashy over here didn't even tell you everything that happened." He loved to troll people.

The gingers face turned a bright red as he knew what the young boy was referring to. He sent a glare to Renegade, but said nothing in objection.

"Yup, that's right, your own team member lied to you."

They all now stared at the speedster of the group, who smiled sheepishly. What reason would he have to lie to them?

"To begin, you have to understand that I wanted space, and seeing that I couldn't go into the Watchtower for that and stare up at the stars, I ended up in jolly ol' Central City instead. Well..." Renegade tried his best phrase his next sentence,"I.... um... ended up bumping into an old buddy of mine, ya know, we were close friends back in the day. But I guess he remembers our relationship slightly differently... Claiming I owe him money or something... Weird, right?" The teen shrugged,"Blah blah blah, he tried to kill me, 'cause I guess I took part in him going in debt or something. Whoops. Well, he managed to get a few hits on me while I was distracted. So I ran. Though, I grew extremely tired of running and decided that I needed to fit in with the passing crowd in order to hide. At that moment, Flashy over here just so happened to be in the area, unbeknownst to me at the time, and well.... we kissed as a distraction. Let me just say, piranhas kiss better than you."

Artemis let out a loud laugh as soon as Renegade finished his story. M'gann and Kaldur attempted to hold back small chuckles while Batman and Connor just frowned.

"Yes, because I totally wanted to make-out with you." Kid Flash replied sarcastically, though Renegade chose to ignore his sarcastic tone.

"I mean, if you wanted this,"He gestured towards his body,"You could have just asked." He winked.

"Basically, what you're saying is that you tore your stitches and ran away because of an old enemy?" Batman questioned, not fully believing the story.

"No, I tore my stitches because I wanted to be on My Strange Addiction."Renegade sarcastically remarked with an eye roll. He was trying his best to play off the lie. Should he have lied? Probably not, but he wasn't 100 percent sure that he could trust the heroes. What if he were to tell them of Deathstroke and they feared that the mercenary would attack them in order to get to Renegade? Knowing them, they might turn him over in a heart beat. Since apparently, Renegade didn't exactly have a "clean record" or wasn't exactly "the nicest person in the world". Crazy, right?

"So, you were scared to fight someone." Superboy smirked.

Renegade sent a glare that could rival the infamous batglare,"Did you want me to kill the man? It's not too late to go back. It would be so easy."

The other heroes in the Mountain looked at the young boy skeptically, his tone within his last sentence worried them. It made them believe that Renegade would have no trouble finding the man and killing him without a doubt. Would he really return to those old habits? Had he really not learned from staying with the team?

Though, as they considered his words, overall he did have a point. They would have preferred Renegade to run any day than to succumb to murdering criminals once again.

Batman decided to continue his interrogation,"Why were you previously so hesitant to tell the truth of what happened in Central? If what you say is true, then you did nothing worth receiving any worse punishment." It was pretty obvious that the Bat didn't completely believe the ebony's story.

The teen frowned,"Forgive me for not easily admitting defeat. Plus, I don't regret much, or any, of the things I have done in my life, but I sure as hell do regret kissing bonfire." He wiped at his lips as if they were dirty.

"Then why did you do it?" This came from Kid Flash.

"I needed a distraction!"

"Sure, that's why." The ginger took a different turn on the reason.

"What did you say, punk?!"

"Nothing."

"Sure as hell didn't sound like nothing!" They loudly bickered like an old married couple.

Aqualad loudly cleared his throat,"Please refrain from arguing. Wally, Renegade simply needed a distraction. And Renegade, Wally said nothing."

Renegade looked away and crossed his arms,"Batman, I told you what happened, can I skip out on missions now?"

Batman shook his head,"Despite telling the truth, you're still in trouble for escaping. Therefore, you will not be allowed to skip out on missions. The team needs you."

"We don't need him." Superboy argued.

"Shut up, Super Bitch. You love me."

"Renegade, watch your language," Aqualad scolded the boy once more.

"Got it, Salty."The said boy clicked his tongue and put up "finger guns".

Renegade averted his attention back to Batman,"Let's make a deal. I give you all the info I know on Gotham criminals and you get me a few get-out-of-a-mission- free passes. I'll even throw in my Netflix password!" The fact that Renegade was willingly giving away such information just went to show how badly he feared another confrontation with Deathstroke.

"No deal, though I now will require you to give me that information on Gotham's villains. Consider this as an additional punishment for withholding information from me."Batman began to walk towards the zeta tubes,"Oh, and do realize that dating within the team is prohibited for your safety."

The zeta tube announced his departure and Renegade could practically envision the smirk on Batman's face.

How. Dare. He.

"Fuck you, Batman! I'm too good for bonfire!"

Wally scoffed,"Too good? Your nickname for me is bonfire, therefore implying that I am indeed hot." The speedster turned and walked away, leaving a very upset assassin.

"God Damnit!" Renegade crossed his arms. His situation just wasn't getting any better.

This chapter was so unnecessary...

Oh, and question, would y'all be okay with some more filler chapters? Like, maybe team bonding or stuff that doesn't contribute a lot to the plot. I know a lot of people don't like them (*cough* me) so I'm considering cutting the filler chapters I had previously planned for. PLEASE PLEASE REPLY TO THIS.

The next one will also be a slight filler.... so you can expect me to update soon

Thanks for reading!

I LOVE Y'ALLLL
