Winding Clock (Issei Hyoudou)

"A-alright, Irina... I know you're happy to see me, but could you stop hugging me?" Said Issei nervously.

He did not know his childhood friend was actually a girl, and it was even worse the fact she had grown to be a beautiful woman.

Meanwhile, Rias was currently talking with her brother. "I'm glad to meet you again, brother." Cheerfully said Rias.

Xenovia looked warily at the demons, but Michael softly put his hand on her shoulder.

"Don't worry about it, we have good relationships with the current factions."

"Man am I the only fallen angel here?" Asked Azazel, though, he did glance at Akeno for a moment.

Asia then softly raised her hand. "U-uhm... So are these rooms the place that shows us different worlds?"

Kiba gently answered. "You would be correct, as of now, we saw a different version of Issei known as the Black Swan."

"Would it be fine if we were to join you?" Asked an older voice.

The DxD group looked at the direction of the voice, only to see Hokma standing alongside the rest of the Sephirah.

"Roland has been busy finishing a three part world from the looks of it, so we got a bit curious as to what could be shown for us!" Cheerfully explained Malkuth.

"I need that man's literary knowledge to help me finish a book." Added Angela. "While he's inside that room, I would like to do the same to spend a bit of time."

"I still think this is a waste of time." Murmured Tiphereth.

"It may be so, but I would rather watch something than continue working." Confessed Netzach.

"The boy who became the Black Swan must have potential, I am curious as to how far it will go." Admitted Gebura.

"Wow, this might be the first time you've got interested in anything so adamantly." Teased Chesed.

Yesod sighed. "Let's stop the chit chat and get this over with, we are wasting time standing here."

Binah was simply drinking her tea, she had already entered one of the rooms while the others were talking.

"I think that would be fine." Admitted Issei. "Though, what do... uhm... the others think?" He said as he looked at the others.

"It's certainly going to be interesting, your world has many mysteries." Admitted Azazel. "Your notes have caught my attention quite a bit as well, I wish to research what this E.G.O can do."

The room then started to change colors.

The scene became the inside of a bar, where various people could be seen hanging around while drinking.

Of the multitude, one of them stood out.

"Ah! This is good!" Said Issei as he finished another glass of beer. "Boss! Pour me another please!"

The bartender gave him another pint of beer. "You've been drinking a lot, has your hunt been good?"

"Sure has been, in fact, it's the best one yet!" Issei said cheerfully.

"Seems like we're watching Hyoudou again." Pointed out Rias.

"Why him though..." Whispered Koneko with annoyance.

"I do want to go to The Bar after this..." Muttered Netzach as he watched someone enjoy a glass of beer.

"Though, hunting?" Asked Yesod.

He then took a chug of the beer. "Open Key Page."

A screen appeared in front of him, the following information could be seen in it.

Issei Hyoudou

Fixer Rank: 9

Passives:

1. I want to be just like you (Objet d'art)

2. Returner's Clockwork Watch (Objet d'art)

"Just looking at these passives makes me feel better while drinking." He commented. "Though I wish I had better offensive pages."

"I can't wait to go back to the Library and seek more books." He said excitedly.

"Go back to the Library?" Asked Angela.

"Don't tell me he is going to be like Philip." Murmured Tiphereth with annoyance.

"It's a different world, perhaps there are differences to what the Library is." Assumed Hokma.

"I am more interested as to what passives this boy has." Added Binah.

"It seems as though quite a lot of the viewings are related to your world." Pointed out Rias.

"It's intriguing, don't you think?" Asked Chesed.

"...I have a feeling there is going to be a piece of information that will reveal what the setting of the Library will be." Said Angela ominously.

This place always did after all.

"I could sell a few secrets about the floors of the Library, get some lottery tickets or even make connections with people who have yet to start as Book Hunters." Gleefully said Issei.

"There's just so much I can do!"

Then, the entire pub became silent.

Issei looked at the entrance to see why everyone had gone silent.

A man with white hair and a sword slowly made his way into the bar. "Make me a drink, milk, vodka and honey if you will." He requested.

"Hokma?" Said Malkuth.

"It seems I am a Fixer in that world." Concluded Hokma.

"But then... What about the floor you're part of? Will there be someone else taking charge of it? Or does it not exist?" Asked Hod.

"I can answer that." Mentioned Angela.

"This world, it seems, takes place in an alternate reality where I was finally able to get what I wanted." Explained Angela.

"How so? What proof is there to support that statement?" Inquired Yesod.

"The term Book Hunter, it must be related to the Library, people who make a living from getting books from the floors." She continued. "The main point is that I was planning on allowing all of you to leave the Library once I got my wish."

"In that case, it must mean that at least I decided to leave." Finished Hokma.

Angela nodded.

"Ahahah! This seems to have gotten interesting!" Laughed Azazel.

"I do wonder, what Grade will Hokma be?" Inquired Chesed.

"The Alabaster Prophet. Real name, Benjamin." Narrated Issei.

"Ah, just on time." Giggled Chesed.

"A Color Fixer? Interesting." Commented Gebura.

"Never knew the believer of his faith would have it in him." Giggled Binah.

"..." Hokma read the name plastered in the newspaper. "My faith in Sir Ayin continues on it seems."

"Furthermore, it seems as if I have returned back to my roots."

"Using the name of your previous life... there must be a reason for it." Whispered Hod.

"In the past he had gone missing, though people completely forgot about him in the future."

"Oh? Does Hyoudou perhaps have the skill to see the future?" Inquired Sirzechs.

"That claim seems quite odd though, for what reason would he have gone missing?" Asked Irina.

"Assassination, that is the only way I can think of." Concluded Xenovia.

"Even then, he is a Color Fixer, it takes quite a lot to take one out." Refuted Gebura.

"Perhaps something relating to religion?" Suggested Issei.

"..."

"What?! It's just a possibility!" Defended Issei.

"... No, the boy may be right." Agreed Hokma. "My faith in Sir Ayin might have brought me to take extreme measures."

"Such as?" Asked Yesod.

"Attempt to continue our plan even after it failed."

"Mmm, quite probable for you who follow blind faith." Concluded Binah.

"This same faith allowed me to continue in life, we needn't proof of his presence, for we must believe in his plan, it is an ordeal that I must persevere through." Refuted Hokma.

Michael clapped. "Splendid display of faith, I appreciate such trust in one you believe in."

"It is quite admirable." He complimented, to then look at the other followers of God. "We must follow such a belief in God."

Irina, Xenovia and Asia nodded.

Angela sighed. She didn't want to hear about Ayin anymore.

"Until the Red Flame made a name for himself, the White Prophet was the indisputable number one Fixer."

"You must be quite strong to hold such a title." Added Akeno as she looked at the old man.

"Perhaps, but I do not see myself being apt enough to even become a fixer." Admitted Hokma.

"Though I wonder, wouldn't Gebura have an edge?" Inquired Chesed.

"In fact, shouldn't Gebura be the number one Fixer? We've all probably left, right?" Added Tiphereth

"It might be possible that a few of us decided not to leave." Gebura suggested. "Me being one of them."

"And this new Fixer called the Red Flame." Pointed out Netzach. "It further proves Gebura is no longer a Fixer at least, since he had the same color as her."

"As the number one Fixer, that must mean he must have good Pages." Thought Issei.

"I could use this to get one of them..." He then looked at his abilities.

I want to be just like you

Objet d'art

Activates on death. After dying to an opponent, you can copy one of their pages or passives. You cannot copy from the same person who had killed you once.

"...It might be a good way to try it." He concluded.

"Getting killed to obtain one of the pages?" Wondered Tiphereth.

"It sounds similar to what Pluto did." Pointed out Netzach. "Though, instead of getting an entire copy, it's just a single one."

"It may be more similar to Pinocchio." Concluded Angela.

"Pinocchio? As in the one from the fairytale?" Asked Rias.

"I'm not sure about this regarding fairytales, they are abnormalities from Lobotomy Corporation." She answered. "Perhaps I should go in depth with every single piece of information rather than general explanations."

"That might take a lot of time to do so though?" Inquired Netzach.

"Don't worry, I'll divide the work between all of us!" Assured Malkuth.

"We would be grateful if you could do that for us." Thanked Kiba.

Yesod decided to comment on the previous claims. "A copy ability is quite good, however, I see no use for it if the user needs to die for it to activate."

"That might be so, however, I think he had the ability to come back to life." Concluded Azazel.

Yesod raised an eyebrow.

"See, he has knowledge of the future, and the other passive he has seems to be related to time due to the name." Pointed out Azazel.

"With this, I can theorize that he reverted back in time by dying many times until he made it to before the Red Flame became a hotshot." He concluded.

Then he smiled. "And then, he replaced him with himself."

Yesod hummed. "There is certain proof behind your claim, however, I will see it with my own eyes."

"Quite the skeptic, aren't you?" Teased Azazel.

"Better be safe than sorry." He responded.

Issei took out his phone to search a bit about the Alabaster Prophet.

"I heard he threw away everything to come hunt down in the Library."

"Supposedly he was previously part of a Nest, but decided to leave it."

"I think he is a bit cuckoo, I remember seeing him talk to himself."

"Ah... there's no good information." Commented Issei.

"It seems he is a mystery compared to that egotistical Red Flame." He thought.

"Mmm, seems like you decided to go back and hunt down Angela." Pointed out Chesed.

"Even after I allowed you to be free, you decided to come back as an enemy." Glared Angela. "Is the reason also because you're following Ayin's plan?"

Hokma closed his eyes. "Angela, please note that this is a different version of mine, it is indeed possible that I did so just to follow Ayin's dream."

"But I must point out that you did so because you wished to spite Ayin, you made the very same decision my other self is currently doing."

Angela sighed. "You're right, but that doesn't lessen my annoyance with you."

"Feel as you wish, I have no control over how you decide to act."

"A Color Fixer with an arrogant personality?" Mentioned Gebura. "Those usually don't last for long."

She then frowned. "Mmm... but if it's a psychopathic one, then maybe." She mumbled as she remembered the Blue Reverberation.

"That won't work!" Exclaimed Hokma.

This made Issei jolt in surprise, only to then look at the Color Fixer.

"He... really does talk to himself."

"Why are all Color Fixers crazy in the head?"

Issei then continued scrolling down the comments.

"One thing you should never say to the Alabaster Prophet, is to mention his granddaughter."

"A granddaughter?" The Sephirah thought as they all looked at Hokma.

"I haven't copulated with anyone as far as I know." Said Hokma as he closed his eyes.

"Then... perhaps adoption?" Suggested Malkuth.

"Highly unlikely." He responded.

Angela glanced at Hokma. "Perhaps... it might be Benjamin's past slowly making its way into your brain." She suggested.

"The kind man that was Benjamin, it seems as if the change of name had more meaning to it than we previously thought." She said as she then looked at the scene.

Though, who is this granddaughter?

Hokma glanced at Angela.

Perhaps that world, all the sephirot were closer.

Perhaps the script wasn't as cruel to her.

And perhaps, just perhaps, things didn't go as badly as in their own version.

He looked back to the scene.

It didn't matter at all in the end, they were different worlds.

Just as Roland would say.

That's that and this is this.

"Speak no more, I will get this done with." He calmly said. "I cannot taste the vodka with your constant speeches, I can do as you say, you simply need to give me time."

He then stood up and left. "Thanks for the drinks." He left a few coins behind.

Issei decided to follow behind. "Thanks as well, here's the pay for all the beers I've drunk."

The bartender bid farewell.

Issei then proceeded to try and follow Hokma on the streets.

What skills will he have?

The Red Flame had the skill to revert back in time upon death.

So what skill will the Alabaster Prophet have?

"Seems you were right." Concluded Yesod.

Azazel smirked. "Hey, what can I say?"

"The kid appears to be enthralled with the concept of skills." Pointed out Hokma.

"Humans seek to become stronger, yet they do not like to work." Mentioned Binah. "An easy path compared to an arduous one is quite inviting."

"Who wouldn't want to use it? Although I'm not sure dying many times is to my liking." Pointed out Rias.

"You think the Limbus Company employees look forward to their work?" Inquired Chesed.

"They likely do not." Answered Gebura.

"This should be an adequate place." Spoke Hokma.

Issei snapped out of his thoughts as he saw himself on a grassy field in the middle of nowhere. Hokma was now looking at him.

"You may come out now, young man." He ordered. "There is no need to be so secretive."

Issei slowly revealed himself from behind the tree. "I'm sorry for my rudeness, I would like to ask you a favor."

Hokma smiled widely. "Oh, what great coincidence, it appears I have the very same inquiry to make for you."

"A favor?" Asked Issei.

"Quite, tell me, are you willing to die at this very moment for me?" He asked.

Azazel whistled. "Now this got interesting."

"But it's what Issei wants, right?" Asked Irina. She was a bit iffy about the idea of seeing her crush die in front of her.

"Yes, although I do wonder what Hokma wants." Wondered Hod.

Hokma remained silent during the viewing as he saw his other self in the scene.

Hokma unsheathed his sword. "I hope you don't mind this old man's request."

"P-pardon?" Asked Issei surprised.

"Be not afraid, for I am following faith." He ominously claimed.

"I-I mean..." Issei tried to reply, however, the words didn't come out of his mouth.

Issei was sweating bullets as he saw the scary situation.

"It appears you're in trouble, Hyoudou." Giggled Akeno.

"Don't be like that Akeno, he's scared, can't you see?" Mentioned Rias.

"Never knew you had it in you to scare kids, Hokma." Teased Chesed.

"Speak no more, he is a different self from mine." Reminded Hokma.

"I did worry at first, I believed that you had been sent by that girl with fallen angel and devil wings." Mentioned Hokma.

"T-the Black Witch?" Muttered Issei.

"The very same." Confirmed Hokma.

"..." Akeno remained silent as she knew full well it was mentioning her.

Azazel glanced at her, seeing how she would react, and he expected that very same reaction.

He wished Baraqiel were here, he was sure the man would be glad to see his daughter at the very least happy in Rias' Peerage.

"Another Color Fixer? It seems as if each one of them is much more hostile to one another" Asked Gebura.

"Don't be like that, Gebura, we've only seen three." Cheered Chesed. "I'm sure that we'll see more and find a few that are on good terms."

"One is arrogant and more than likely a psychopath, another seems to be attempting to assassinate another one, and then Hokma seems to be schizophrenic." Gebura refuted.

Hokma cleared his throat as he heard the two middle sephirot bicker like they usually did.

Chesed simply started whistling, feigning innocence, Gebura took out a cigarette and lit it up.

"Well, enough conversation, let us get to the point." Hokma suddenly rushed at him.

Issei couldn't react in time, all he could see was the moon shining bright.

His body slumped at his side.

"Ah, that was beautiful, far more beautiful than the moonlight." Thought Issei.

"I'm envious."

"I wish I could make such a move."

"Let us meet again." Declared Hokma, he then looked at his side, as if someone was there the whole time.

"Yes, it has been done, I believe your judgment is correct." He added

Issei felt a shiver.

"Are you alright?" Asked Asia.

"Y-yeah, It's just a bit weird seeing myself die." He responded as he grabbed his own arms.

"An outstanding move, Hokma." Commented Binah.

"The cut was clean, I must say, I've never seen such skill from anyone I've met." Commented Xenovia.

"It's very skillful, I should take notes for myself." Added Kiba.

"I think I now know who Hokma is talking to." Murmured Angela.

"Oh? Do pray tell." Asked Malkuth.

"No... I think I will allow the screen to show it, I need further proof." Answered Angela.

You have died.

A screen was shown in front of him, he said nothing as he was now in a place he was familiar with.

Creating skill cards.

He could now select one of the cards from the Color Fixer.

Issei widened his eyes.

"So... the Alabaster Prophet... made it to the top with no Objet d'arts?" Stuttered Issei, shocked at this revelation.

"It seems you do have the skills to become a Color Fixer without the help of the Library." Commented Yesod.

"Different from our world." Mentioned Hokma.

"I do wonder, why did I leave the Library to become a Fixer?" He murmured.

"Life is full of mysteries, you may never know what the future holds." Mentioned Binah. "It is useless to think of what will never happen."

"Yet we continue to do so, to see what we could have become, what we could have achieved, and what we could have done."

"Interesting." Spoke Sirzechs. "You seem quite adept in philosophy from the looks of it."

"Am I? Or is it simply what we wish to believe?" Binah continued as she glanced at Hokma.

"What do you believe in?"

"In Sir Ayin." He responded.

"You never change your answer." She smirked.

"I will continue to put my faith on him no matter what ordeals may appear in front of me."

Issei sighed.

"I guess I was never meant to reach their level by legit means." He murmured.

He then decided to take one of them covered skills.

"This one was a Limited, right?" He asked himself.

He hoped that it was at least a combat page at the very least.

Selection Complete.

Copying Skill.

Sending you back 24 hours back in time.

"That's how it works? Interesting." Commented Azazel as he rubbed his chin.

"This seems like... Mmmm, was it video games?" Asked Sirzechs.

"Uh, yeah it's like a video game now that you mention it." Agreed Issei.

"I wish we could play again like the old times here, but I don't think there is any game we can play in this place." Wished Irina.

"Though... perhaps there is another game we could play." She thought as she started getting embarrassed by the sudden intrusive thought.

Xenovia hit her with her hand. "Cease such lewd thoughts, it is unruly for a believer of God to act in such a way."

Irina apologized, not knowing what had gotten into her.

Issei gasped for air, he realized he was now on his bed.

He then went to check what the skill was.

"It was a Limited." Issei commented.

"Ah... it's another passive." He groaned "I guess I'll have to wait for another enemy to give me another one."

He then decided to check what the passive skill was all about.

The Seed of Light Manager

Limited

The Founder of Lobotomy Corporation. He wished to continue with Carmen's plan to complete the Seed of Light Project. Even after becoming part of the light, his memory continues on in a man who wishes to follow behind.

"Wait." Spoke Netzach. "Is this what I think this is?"

Angela curled her fists a bit.

Hokma on the other hand briefly widened his eyes at the implications."It appears the faith of my counterpart has not been in vain."

"So it seems." Said Binah as she took a sip of her tea. "It seems that the blind can still stumble upon fortune."

Rias looked at her brother. Sirzechs then smiled back. "Don't worry, the notes have most of the information."

"I do want to know how this Ayin fellow acts." Wondered Azazel.

Michael nodded. "Indeed, for someone to truly believe in him in such a way, he must be a good man, right?"

Hokma nodded. "Ayin wished to continue Carmen's dream, a world where no one needs to suffer."

"A beautiful dream, though it appears it did not work out?" Inquired the archangel.

"Quite so, Ayin may not have been perfect." He glanced at Angela. "But he indeed was someone who could reach such heights to fulfill his duty."

Angela closed her eyes as she spoke. "Ayin may be an example of how to get things done, but he truly does not care about Carmen's way of resolving problems or the people he has to sacrifice."

"That, I cannot deny, but we must agree that some problems need extreme measures to be dealt with." Hokma then concluded. "We cannot refute the fruits of his labor either."

"Benjamin, I've told you before, please stop moving the bed just to be closer to me." Said the man with annoyance.

Issei was flabbergasted at this sudden turn of events.

"If we can't recover the light, everything Carmen had tried to build up to this point will have been for nothing." He continued. "Just follow my plan, I know what I am doing."

A few of those in the room looked at Hokma.

"I have not tried such unreasonable actions for Sir Ayin." Denied Hokma.

"The words of the blackened mean nothing against the truth." Smirked Binah.

"I did know that Benjamin might have swung that way for Ayin." Angela sighed.

Hokma simply pinched the bridge of his nose, he did not like this slander.

"Uh? Who the hell is Carmen, and who the hell are you?" Demanded Issei.

The man turned around, he widened his eyes. "You can see me?"

"Yup."

"And... you can hear me, right?"

"How else would I be responding to you?"

"..."

"..."

"That... was not part of my plan." He declared. "This is an interesting turn of events."

He then stood up, or rather, started floating as he looked down on Issei who was laying down on his bed.

The man looked around confused. "And... where is Benjamin?"

"You mean the Alabaster Prophet? What do you need from him?" Inquired Issei.

"That Color Fixer status seriously doesn't fit him." The man murmured. "But yes, him exactly. I'd like to know about his whereabouts."

He then looked outside the window. "Hey are you perhaps a resident in a backstreet? This place is quite subpar."

"I don't remember Ayin acting this way." Said Angela.

"Was his influence on Hokma's decisions what you were thinking about?" Asked Hod.

Angela nodded. "Indeed, I refrained from speaking about it due to the insufficient proof, yet in the end it revealed itself."

"Sir Ayin seems to act more laid down, it appears as if he knows he is not in a dire situation." Hokma commented. "However, it doesn't make sense, for he has been completely cut off from my counterpart."

"You sure seem to be alarmed about him not being with you." Teased Azazel.

"Is it wrong to worry for a compatriot?" Asked Hokma.

"No, not at all." The Fallen Angel leader responded.

Issei remained silent for a moment.

The man simply stood there, waiting for an answer.

"What the hell do I say? How am I going to explain this to him?!" Though Issei with worry.

"I uh... may have cloned you." He ended up responding, he facepalmed mentally.

The floating man stopped moving, his view darkened. He slowly moved towards Issei and grabbed him by the shoulders.

"Please, send me back to Benjamin." He ordered.

"I can't." Responded Issei.

"What do you mean you can't?! How the hell did you even clone me in the first place?!" Said the man alarmed.

"What the hell was Benjamin thinking?! Now I'm stuck with a kid with porn magazines under his bed?!" Said the man as he grasped his hair in frustration.

"Oi! Don't mention my collection! You're probably the one who planned this!" Accused Issei.

"This is..." Said Netzach.

"Yes, it is surreal." Finished Yesod.

"Do you truly have such naughty magazines under your bed, Hyoudou?" Giggled Akeno.

Issei had a red face as he covered it in embarrassment.

"Pervert..." Whispered Koneko with a glare.

Angela simply smiled at the scene, seeing her creator panic was quite funny to her.

Hokma continued to pinch the bridge of his nose.

This was not his Ayin.

Yet he would continue to believe in him.

This ought to be a test of his belief.

Binah smirked, knowing full well the old man was coping.

"What nonsense are you spouting?!" Exclaimed the man.

"Can you just be quiet for a moment and liven up a little?! I feel like my head is about to burst." Complained Issei.

"I'm already dead!" Refuted the man.

"Then just stay quiet like the dead man you are."

"What sort of disrespect did you just spout?!"

Angela started giggling.

A few of the sephirah looked at her in shock, she didn't laugh like this as far as they knew.

"This scene is quite amusing." Laughed Azazel.

"It is quite entertaining I must admit." Added Sirzechs.

The man finally calmed down. "Jeez, this is a disaster."

He then looked at Issei. "So tell me, how did we end up in this situation?"

Issei then started. "I wanted to copy one of the skills from the Alabaster Prophet."

The spirit nodded.

"So I was thinking about asking him to kill me, since I could come back to life."

"Wait, so you're technically immortal?"

"You could say that. But anyways, he ended up talking about something regarding a plan, one that I am assuming you made."

The man then covered his mouth as he started to think about it.

"He killed me, said something about believing your plan, I got the skill and was sent back in time."

"Mmm, I see, in that case, it seems like my future self... or past self felt like you had a reason to follow Benjamin."

He then stood up. "Tell me."

"How many times have you killed yourself?"

The tension suddenly became heavy.

"I never thought about it... but how many could it possibly be?" Murmured Rias.

"It can't be that many... right?" Asked Malkuth.

Issei looked at the man and then answered. "Over four thousand times."

He then sighed. "I wanted to come back to this day to stop the Red Flame from ever becoming a Color Fixer or someone even remotely relevant."

The man looked at him. "So then, you decided to kill yourself more than four thousand times just to get to this day, and kill him?"

Issei nodded.

Irina covered her mouth with her hands at the revelation.

"No one should relive death that many times." Murmured Azazel.

Rias's Peerage froze at the number of deaths. They could not believe a boy like Issei would be strong enough to still be mentally well after that.

Issei looked at his other self in shock, he was confused as to why his counterpart would go that far...

No, perhaps he did know, he simply wanted a better life, perhaps just killing the Red Flame was an excuse.

Maybe his future was a path with no light, maybe he was not satisfied with his own life.

He then looked at his own hands.

What has he done during his time at school?

He was not good academically, and he didn't really have any skill when it came to sports.

He was just average in everything.

That was not enough to get him a decent job.

He realized that if he didn't change at that moment, at least taking his academic learning seriously, he would just be a disappointment.

In fact, he would be a further disappointment for his parents. He gritted his teeth.

The Sephirah simply looked in pity, dying once was already enough for them.

As for Angela...

She looked at the boy, dying over and over again, it was like the employees of Lobotomy Corporation.

However, unlike them, he was doing it out of his own volition.

Such determination was outstanding, she had to admit.

The spirit looked at Issei for a moment.

"You, what is your name?" The spirit demanded.

"Uhm... I'm Hyoudou Issei."

"Hyoudou, why did you want to go up against Benjamin?"

"Because he was the strongest Fixer, I could get a good skill to copy from him."

"Why did you not train? Why go and kill yourself to get a skill instead of creating one or getting one from the Library?"

"Because it was faster, more effective and much easier. I don't care where the skills come from, so long as I get something good, I am satisfied."

"In other words, I don't care about the process so long as I get the results that I want." Issei finished answering.

Angela replayed the answer inside her head.

It was very similar to what Ayin's thought process was.

It would be no surprise if they ended up working together.

She looked at Hokma.

He was smiling. Was it because he got to see Ayin again?

Or was it because of the very same thought she had?

"Stand up." The man ordered.

"You have a mindset that I have been looking for a long time."

"In fact, I think I now know why my past self felt like you needed to be killed."

He then extended his hand.

"I'll help you reach the top, I'll show you everything I know, and in exchange, I want you to help me fulfill a dream of mine." He declared.

"Because you have that look in your eyes, one that's telling me you have no fear for death."

"Add in your passive skill, and you become the perfect vessel to carry my dreams to the top."

"I am Ayin, the founder of Lobotomy Corporation." He introduced himself.

"Help me spread the light to everyone, and in exchange, I will turn you into the most powerful fixer this city has ever seen."

The room then turned back to white.

Angela sighed. "It seems Ayin continues to carry that dream."

"So it seems." Commented Hokma.

"Interesting, to see him turn an innocent lamb into his messiah." Added Binah.

"Is Ayin perhaps someone who carries the will of God?" Inquired Irina.

Angela closed her eyes. "He played god."

Michael then glanced at her. "What may that mean?"

"He created me, an artificial being with emotions." She declared. "A being who acts like a human, yet is not a human."

"Creating life from nothing, that indeed is playing god." Added Azazel.

"As you may know, such entities are not allowed in the City, and so, I was removed from that very same place." She concluded.

"But... what's the difference?"

Angela looked at the person who asked that question, it was Asia.

"W-what does it mean that you're not human? You still have feelings right? Doesn't that make you just as human as us?"

"Emotions... they are what humans have, but humans are born from flesh, I was not born from such a place."

"Does it matter though?" Asked Issei.

"Uh?"

"I mean... jeez, I'm not sure how to put this..." He said as he scratched the back of his head. "Artificial Intelligence is still really far from us, in fact, I haven't heard about it outside from movies!"

"But I'll get to the point, even if you're not made out of flesh, even if you were not born human, you act like a human, you live like a human, you want to be a human."

"What else can you ask for the definition of human?"

Angela sighed. "Can't you understand? I seek to feel how humans are free to do what they wish, their necessities, their ability to forget, to make mistakes, to be able to know how food tastes, how flowers smell, how it feels to touch a warm blanket."

Issei gritted his teeth. "Then what about those who are blind? Those who can't hear? Are they not human for not being able to sense it?! What about those who are comatosed? Are they also not human for not being able to move?!"

He then took a step closer.

None of the others who knew Issei had expected him to see him act this way.

"If you want to be human, then show me the good side of you as well! How it is to be kind to others, to help them, to feel as if you actually are doing something productive!"

"To be human is not to be imperfect or to be able to feel something! You can be human and have interests in a certain thing!"

He then pointed at Irina. "She doesn't care about anything relating to lust! She's a follower of God! Does that make her not human for not having that imperfection?!"

"And what about me?! Am I not human for not being motivated to improve academically?!"

"Humans are just bad qualities over more bad qualities! There's always that small feeling that maybe it's not all that bad..."

"We have hope, and as long as you have hope, as long as there is something driving you to seek something, that means you're human to me." He concluded.

Angela muttered. "Hope..." She then looked away. "You may be onto something with that point, however, that optimistic look at life will end up crushing you down."

She then took her leave. "Know this, I may be a machine, but I was this close to becoming human, I care not whether I am human or not anymore, this was a pointless debate."

She sighed again. "Seriously... you preach about such words, yet you don't care about what the one you're talking to thinks about or what they have gone through."

"I have accepted that I may never truly become a human being, I care not about your definition of one, I will only see myself as a machine so long as my definition continues the way it is." She then glared.

Issei clenched his fist. "Tsk." In the end he was useless to even try and make a point.

He started walking and left the room, ignoring his childhood friend calling out his name.

What was so wrong about seeing life in a positive way? He simply wanted to live his life without worrying much about what the future holds.

Yes, as he continued staying in this place, he started realizing that perhaps that was not the way to see life. He needed to think of his actions more.

He wondered, what was the purpose of his dream again? What was the purpose of having a harem?

Was it just lust?

No... He wanted to feel loved.

He was already a disappointment to his parents, even if they didn't express it, he believed that they were not happy with him.

He wished to be loved by someone else, even with the way he was.

He looked up, only to realize Kleine was standing in front of him.

"Oh, you're the owner of this place, right?" Asked Issei.

"Correct, I'd like you to follow me for a moment." Kleine responded.

Ah... Sure?" Spoke Issei with confusion.

They both went to a corridor which didn't seem to be one of the places where people could book a room.

"Please, make sure you don't get lost, it would be quite hard to find you." Asked Kleine.

They made it to a door.

Kleine slowly opened it, and allowed Issei to go in first.

Seeing as there was nothing else he could do, he decided to just trust the owner.

Inside, he saw a dimly lit room.

"This is my room." Declared Kleine.

He then sat down on the only chair inside the place.

"Now then, I would like to talk to you, regarding how you're feeling."

"What do you mean by that?"

"Don't act like you're oblivious, I have cameras everywhere."

"W-what?"

"Don't worry, I don't look when people decide to get naughty." Giggled Kleine.

Issei turned red. "I... I don't know what I am doing here."

He then continued. "Like, I appear in the scenes shown by the room but... why me? Wouldn't it have been much more interesting if it were for someone like... I don't know, Rias or Angela?"

"I just feel like I'm not needed."

Kleine hummed. "Well, there is indeed a reason why you're important to this place, just like a few others such as Jaune Arc, the blonde boy, and Sunny, that pale boy that you may have encountered, they are in a way, essential."

Issei now looked confused. "And by that... what do you mean?"

"I exist because you exist, Issei." He declared. "It's because of you, and many others that I even exist in the first place."

He then turned around and started typing on the keyboard.

"Or rather, it's because this hotel selected you as one of the main attractions."

He then showed a picture of the Black Swan Issei.

"This is a version of you, there are infinite versions of you across infinite places."

"And this hotel specifically takes characteristics of that version of you specifically." He pointed out.

Kleine then stood up. "This hotel, it serves to... let's say push you into that direction, so that you learn how to act like that version of you."

"Of course, it doesn't mean that you're forced to do so, if you end up becoming further to this personality, you and everyone you know will be able to go back to your world, but..." He then turned on the lights.

A concerning amount of portraits could be seen hanging on the walls.

"I want to get out of here, Issei, and the only way I can do that is to make you turn into that version of you." He revealed.

"There are many interesting individuals who have yet to arrive." He mentioned.

"The Innamorati is one who has yet to arrive, the one who searches for his sister, only to throw all away to save his found familiar, he will certainly make booking quite hard."

"The one whose fire was extinguished, his passion no longer giving him the thrill he previously had when he took challenges, yet his past seeks his aid."

"A man stuck in a time loop, a side character to the murderous romance of a lovestruck girl, yet he is the only identity that exists of him, unique as one can get."

Kleine then smirked. "But, he's quite unknown you see or rather, not very likely to appear in this place." He concluded.

"I am glad to have you here, just as I am glad for the others who are the ones who will lead me to my escape."

Kleine then sighed. "I won't force you, I am patient enough to continue this endless job of mine."

He then had a sadistic grin. "It just shows how long Haine will stay here alone once I finally escape this place."

"Oh, how I yearn for the day Haine suffers for eternity in this place." He started giggling.

Issei took a step back.

"Ah! I'm genuinely sorry for that look I've shown, please do not be scared, for I will never do anything against the guests!" He declared. "Haine is just someone I truly hate, he is the reason why I even ended up here." He explained.

He then softly smiled. "You may leave now, you're free to either follow your other self, or leave the same way, it's your choice."

He then waved as he said goodbye.

Issei closed the door slowly and started walking. He then stopped, realizing that he had no idea how to get back.

And so, he knocked on the door to ask Kleine to escort him.

But now, his path was clear.

He'll change, so that he can at least be someone who his parents can be proud of.

(A/N)

The reaction was a bit more of a filler for the incredibly short lore drop of what the Hotel is, a few sneak peeks to future characters and their possible Cantos and what Kleine wants from it.

Just wanted to say, if you know who the last one is, please know that I do not condone the creator's actions, and I don't think the game is ever going to be finished, it just has a really special spot in my heart as it's unfortunately part of my childhood. It is also the reason why this fic even exists, the many ideas that are centered around it sort of expanded to all other fic ideas I have.

It is also one of the more crackfic ideas I have that I treat quite seriously, just like the FNAF one I have planned.

Aside from that, the source of this reaction is SSS Class Revival (Suicide) Hunter. A really good Manhwa I highly recommend to anyone who wants to read a good quality manhwa. If you love tragedy, it is highly likely you will love that Manhwa, you'll have to read around 20 chapters for it to start getting interesting, but once it starts, it really does start.

My other fics/ideas will be relevant to this react fic, but not to the point they are mandatory to read, instead, it uses glimpses, traits or scrapped content regarding the characters instead.

That being said, it will mean that spoilers for unreleased fanfics I have are incredibly high to appear, for those chapters, I will add a warning at the beginning to inform about it.

A little bit of conflict between Issei and Angela, mostly to make the seeds for Issei's development. Aside from that, there really isn't much for me to say aside from the fact that part 3 of the Sunny Canto is coming up next.

Which leads me to a question for all of you.

What song would fit for the final battle? I've had someone already recommend one song, but it's one that doesn't fit with the whole vibe of the battle.

And should I add the lyrics into the fic? Like if they were the floating texts of the final battle.

It can be any song so long as it is not a Mili one (I want to use stuff that isn't from this great band for the Cantos), japanese, english, you choose. As a hint, the song that I am looking for (which btw I already have one used, but I want to see if anyone can come up with a better one) has an orchestral feel to it, mostly calm but with an intense section.

I'll see y'all next update.
