Black Swan (Issei Hyoudou)
"Manager esquire! What shall we do?" Asked a very excited Don Quixote.
"(I guess lay back and take a break, Vergilius told us to do whatever we wanted.)" Responded Dante.
"Aaaah, so we get a longer break before we even hit the road? Sounds like a good deal to me." Said a satisfied Rodion as she stretched her hands while the entire group of sinners walked the corridor.
"Argh, bloody hell why is my room so far away?!" Ranted Heathcliff as he squinted his eyes while trying to find the room with the same number as his key.
"Is the room far away? Or are you the one who is far from where you're supposed to be? Have you strayed away from your path? Or has the path forsaken us?" Riddled Yi Sang.
"Oi you loony! Hell you talking about?!" Said a confused Heathcliff as he didn't understand a single word the other sinner said.
Ishmael sighed. "Can you stop screaming every single time? There's a group up ahead heading towards us."
And indeed, Rias' peerage was walking down the corridor as they continued to scout the entire building.
"It seems the hotel is indeed what the receptionist claimed, a simple hotel." Concluded Rias.
"Though, it still has a really strange ambience to it." Commented Akeno.
They then saw the group in front of them.
"Good day! I'm Rias Gremory, it is a pleasure to make your acquaintance!" She introduced herself.
"L-likewise..." Shily said Sinclair.
"Oooh that red hair you have is beautiful!" Complimented Hong Lu. Rodion then followed up. "Tell me, what sort of items did you use to make it so healthy?"
"Now's not the time to make pleasantries! We need to find the room each one of us was assigned!" Sternly said Outis.
"(I don't think we have time restraints for that...)" Pointed out Dante.
"Oh... In that case, I guess it's not too bad to make ourselves acquaintanced with other people as we will be here for a long time." Retracted Outis.
They then saw a boy walking down the corridor as well.
"Oh great, it's that kid that was looking at us with those eyes." Groaned Ishmael.
"Come on Ishmael, take it as a compliment that people find you attractive!" Teased Rodion.
Rias turned around and greeted him. "Hello, Hyoudou. It's a surprise seeing you here as well, though it seems you're not here with your friends however."
He then smiled as he was greeted by one of the most popular girls in her highschool."Not sure where they are, they might not even be here." He then looked at the sinners.
But the moment he looked at Ryoshu, she glared at him. "P.O."
"I don't know what that means." Bluntly said Issei with an oblivious look on his face, however, he looked away as he started to sense the killer intent emanating from her.
Koneko looked at Meursault, and Meursault did the same to her.
"A pleasure meeting you." She bowed as she gave a cold greeting.
"Likewise." Said Meursault without emotion.
"You know, I wonder what's behind each room!" Wondered Hong Lu. "What sort of interior they'll have! Will it be like I feel right at home? I've heard of a few hotels that can do that! Oh! But what if it's what all of you usually use? Like a really run down bed and dim light!"
"Someone shut him up before I smack the back of his head with my bat." Warned Heathcliff.
"(Uh, Heathcliff didn't immediately rely on violence.)" Commented Dante. To which the named sinner glared at him. "Say that again clockface, I'll actually clubber you."
"Do you perhaps understand what he's saying?" Asked Rias. "We can only hear the sound of a clock when he is, for what I assume, talking."
"Pretty much." Responded Gregor.
"Faust suggests we go search our rooms now." Expressed Faust. "We have been talking for quite a long time now."
"Oh, uh, in that case, we'll meet again, faur with red hair." Bid Gregor they all started leaving.
Until they heard footsteps coming from behind.
"Jeez... why did I have to be the one to give the papers to everyone?" Wondered Roland, he then noticed the large group in front of him. "Oh, that's quite lucky."
Then Don went up to him. "Sir Black Silence! Tis a pleasure to meet again!" Excitedly said the girl.
"Oh, you again..." Said Roland without excitement. "I've come to give you some papers regarding everything about the City, since I assume some of you aren't from that place."
The sinners looked confused, however, they saw that Rias talked. "I'd say that would be us. We have no information this City you are talking about."
He then looked at the sinners. "Some people here are from different worlds like the receptionist said, so I thought it'd be a good idea to give them a general run down of the stuff of our world so we don't have to explain it each time to them."
"Then, we should do the same." Suggested Ishmael. "Sharing intel and cooperating could make exploring this place and talking with each other more effective."
"Faust can do." She said. "Faust will recollect all relevant information to our mission."
"Third person talking is cute..." Whispered Issei as he looked at Faust.
Faust did not move, perhaps unbothered... or maybe she was thinking of a way to get rid of him once and for all.
They then saw Don open a door.
"Manager esquire! Look inside tis room! Tis a splendid place to seek adventures!" Hyperactively informed Don as she went inside the white room.
Dante grabbed his head as he panicked. They were probably breaking into someone's room.
"Hey! Don't enter someone else's room!" Said Ishmael as she also ended up joining.
"Manager bud, you think we should enter as well?" Asked Gregor.
"It shows a scene of an event, at least that's what happened to me." Informed Roland.
"What d-do you mean by that?" Uncomfortably asked Sinclair.
"When I entered one of them with another group, it projected a version that combined two kids in that room as the Red Mist and I." Explained Roland. "Then, some events changed in their version, which at the same time, also exhibited a few people that may or may not be related to them." He then added. "Oh, it might even be able to see the future, though we are still not sure about that since we're currently just brainstorming possibilities."
"This sounds highly unlikely, we cannot put our lives in possible danger in the case they do not end up doing the same, manager!" Objected Outis.
"(No, I think we should enter, I'm a bit curious myself... I could also bring you all back to life if things go awry.)" Dante said. "(... Although I'm not sure if I'll be looking forward to it.)"
"In that case... very well, everyone, please be on high alert as we enter the room!" Warned Outis.
"No need to, everyone else already entered while you were talking." Pointed out Gregor.
Kiba looked at Rias. "Should we do the same, Rias?"
She giggled. "I do have a bit of curiosity about these possible other worlds."
She then saw Issei enter, which surprised her a bit.
Though, she'd been looking at Issei for quite a bit as she knew the boy had something within him. She wondered, would Issei truly end up having the Booster Gear?
Perhaps this could be a way to find out.
"Mmm, everyone, we will enter the room." She ordered. Her peerage nodded.
Roland stood outside, realizing that he still had the papers with all the information in hand, yet the door didn't close yet.
"You're kidding me, is it waiting for me to enter?" Commented Roland. "...Fine, I guess it won't hurt seeing another world, especially when it's probably going to be about these two groups."
He ended up joining them.
The moment he entered, the door closed shut as the room started to change colors.
The scene showed the sinners inside K Corp's Checkpoint.
"Incredible, it seems it is indeed showing us a scene of another world." Expressed Ishmael.
"But is this a glimpse into our future selves? Or another plane of existence where events went differently?" Questioned Yi Sang. "Are we the same person? Or is this a reflection of what could be?"
"I don't get it." Commented Issei.
"Neither do I, lad." Heathcliff said as he gripped his bat, he was really close to finally swinging it against Yi Sang.
"Wh- why are we there?!" Panicked Sinclair. "W-why are we at K Corp's Checkpoint?!"
"Woah there, you good there Sinclair?" Asked Rodion.
"He is pale, symptoms of hyperventilation and tremors indicate he is having an attack." Diagnosed Meursault.
"(Sinclair! Hey! Calm down!)" Tried to say Dante, however, it didn't seem to work.
"You want me to cut him down?" Suggested Ryoshu.
"(No!)" Yelled Dante.
A few of the sinners, the ones who at least looked concerned, tried to calm Sinclair down from his panic attack.
Rias' Peerage could only look at the situation as they continued to read Roland's notes about the City.
"(Faust, do you know why he's reacting like this?)" Asked Dante.
"Faust knows." She admitted. "Given that we are going to be seeing what looks like our time at K Corp, then there is no need for Faust to abstain from this information."
"Sinclair was originally from District 11, he was part of K Corp's Nest." She revealed. "Though because of a few circumstances, his hometown ended up being annihilated."
"(Were you there?)" Questioned Dante.
She shook her head. "Faust did a background check of each sinner, it is no surprise to find a few connections between events and their accounts. Those who have done this to him have later become part of N Corp. as a subdivision called the Inquisition."
"N Corp. again? It seems like that place is the root of all evil for some reason." Commented Roland.
"What are you talking about?" Asked Rodion.
"When I was with another group inside a room, I saw the version of the kid who went after N Corp's Nest. It was completely different from me, as I slaughtered the Middle." Informed Roland.
"To go up against a Nest... this guy must have also been a Color Fixer like you in that universe." Said Ishmael.
"Whaaat?! How could this be?! Has tis Fixer gone mad?! Attacking innocent civilians of a Nest?" Said Don with surprise.
"Well, truthfully I would have done the same if they burned my wife down on a stake." Responded Roland.
Ryoshu gripped her Odachi tighter than before after hearing that.
It was certainly an eventful display of art.
The first one to talk was Vergilius talking as he smirked. "Look at you, how nice does it feel to see all of you stay in line nice and all. Like a line of ants following a trail."
Ishmael looked surprised. "Ah- Why are you outside the bus too?"
"(Yes, why are you outside this time?)"
"Oh." Said Akeno as she noticed subtitles at the other Dante's legs. "This is convenient."
"We'll still need to translate what our manager bud says though." pointed out Gregor.
"Are his thoughts even relevant?" Muttered Heathcliff.
"(H-hey! Don't I get a say in here?)" Asked Dante, only to be met with silence.
"Because it's a Nest, Dante."
"If any of you were to fool around... Well, you'd be the one to take most of the blame."
Why did I feel like he was telling me that I wasn't reliable at all?
"Are we seeing this in Dante's view?" Asked Ishmael.
"Seems like it." Agreed Gregor.
"My, what sort of thought will you have, Dante? Will you be saying some bad stuff about us?" Teased Rodion.
"The line is moving quickly, it won't take us much time until it's our turn." Mentioned Ishmael. "Will we have to answer immigration questions? What will they do with Dante? He can't talk at all."
It seemed like Ishmael had a habit of talking faster the more anxious she got.
"I was getting to that." Said Vergilius with a bit of annoyance. "Listen here. K Corp. will only be asking really simple questions for people in this line."
"And you only have one simple answer."
"When they ask about why you're here, say the following words:"
"I'm here for business on behalf of Limbus Company, please refer to my work visa."
"Remember this sentence word by word, you need to send the message."
"I'm here to take care of any legal documentation, prove to me that you don't cause trouble everywhere you go."
Faust then added. "If even memorizing the words is a problem, it would be better to keep your mouths closed and present your employee card instead."
"(Keep quiet and don't cause trouble. This is totally going to be easy for us.)"
I really did not like where this was going.
"You have quite the low expectations of us in the future Dante." Gazed Faust.
"(Uh oh.)" Sounded Dante.
"Well... that just shows how awful this whole trip is going to be." Commented Gregor.
"I am sorry manager, unfortunately it seems that our productivity won't be up to par with your expectations, I will make sure we are prepared for then." Apologized Outis.
"Not our fault we have someone as cuckoo as that thing." Said Heathcliff as he pointed at Don Quixote, who seemed oblivious over the insult.
"Ooooh so she's a cuckoo clock?" Asked Hong Lu. Ishmael and Heathcliff facepalmed at the comment.
"We have yet to see any one of us there." Mentioned Rias. She then looked at Roland. "There's no proof that it will always be a mix of those present, right?"
"I'm not sure myself, the pool of results isn't big enough to have a conclusion just yet, let's finish this and get it over with so we can leave." Answered Roland.
Vergilius then continued. "Now, next up... If you have a question, make sure it's something meaningful and then raise your hand."
Several hands were lifted, which included mine.
"Rodion."
"Since we're on a business trip, that means we're allowed to bring our weapons, right?"
"Correct, next."
"And what about Gregor's claw and Dante's clock? They must also fall in the same category."
Ishmael then interjected. "They would also count. In Dante's case, his clock head would count as a prosthetic, which could even pass even if we had a tourist visa instead, power not mattering."
It feels like she changed her attitude after the casino job...
She must have decided to take matters into her own hands after I completely shattered her hopes of being a competent manager.
"Oh my, it seems there is some tension within the group." Teased Akeno.
Ishmael looked at Dante while narrowing her eyes. "I hope you end up learning from your future's mistakes, manager."
Dante simply nodded nervously.
"Precisely."
Gregor and I lowered our hands.
"And Ryoshu, put out the cigarette before you speak."
"Didn't raise my hand."
I saw Don Quixote continue to have her hand raised.
To which Vergilius continued to try and ignore.
In the end, after all questions were answered, he finally decided to give her a chance and speak.
"...Fine, what is it, Don Quixote?"
"What is the purpose of thy glass barrier on the other side?"
"That line's completely still, there's people even sitting down waiting till it moves." Commented Gregor. "Seems like they've been there for a while."
"There is also an increased number of guards, specifically thrice as many." Informed Meursault.
"They're there for safety reasons." Answered Vergilius.
Rodion then nonchalantly said. "Well, think of it as the line for those from the Backstreets. Nests tend to use different measures to handle immigration, but it's always hard to enter a Nest without a proper visa."
"Why'd you think those people tried to attack us? They were there to take our visas."
Vergilius then tried to indirectly warn the sinners. "This is a problem we cannot fix."
Which Don Quixote didn't seem to have caught on.
"Manager, it's our turn." Informed Outis.
"(Oh, right.)"
Ishmael then said. "Remember the word, if they ask yo-"
"Try to speak about it one more time and I will S.Y.A and the officer standing there."
Fortunately, Ishmael's worries were not needed, as our inspection went smoothly.
"Please, state your purpose and affiliation." The guard questioned.
"I've come from Limbus Company on business. Please refer to my employee card."
"Checks out. Next."
"From Limbus Company. Also for business reasons. Here's my card."
"All checked out. Next one."
"Seems like it's smooth sailing for us." Said Ishmael.
"Well, I guess we're able to actually be professional for once." Added Gregor. "Though, I'm not sure why I even felt the tiniest bit nervous, I wasn't going to do something stupid."
"It's probably because of... those few." Said Rodion as she looked at Heathcliff, Don Quixote and Ryoshu.
Sinclair, who had stayed quiet, finally calmed down. "I-I think you shouldn't say that in front of them." He said as he saw Ryoshu glare at Rodion while Heathcliff perked up and looked around, fortunately it seemed as if he thought it was just the wind.
And Don... she was in her own world as she looked at Roland.
The guard said the same question to each one of us, we all gave either the same answer or showed our cards. The guard simply gave us a cautious look as he let us pass.
Though it might have been a moment to take a break rather than anything.
Ishmael then looked at the other lines. "Something's going on there."
The glass wall was thick enough to block all sound. However, we could see a man cuffed and bloody as he was dragged out of there.
A child was standing there as he saw the scene, confused and scared as tears went down their faces.
"I don't think we should bother with them. It must have been someone who broke a taboo." Ishmael sighed.
"Suuuure, the taboo of poor people not giving enough money to the reach, am I right?" Sarcastically said Heathcliff.
"Are you mocking me?!"
"Oh? Thought you didn't care! You sure know how to flip a switch!" Laughed Heathcliff.
"You're annoying." Commented Ishmael.
"Says the girl who's been criticizing us since we've met." Countered Heathcliff. "Serious, can you stop yapping about how we act? You've been at sea for a shit ton of time, you probably don't know a thing about the Backstreets and how you need to act to survive."
They both started arguing.
Then it was Don Quixote's turn.
"State your business and affiliation."
"..." Don Quixote took a deep breath. "I have arrived to free the weak and powerless!" She declared.
"Oh fuck." Was the combined thought of many of the sinners.
Roland looked amused at the actions of the Fixer fangirl. He wondered, if that other version of that kid met this one, would they have had the same ideology?
Wait, what was he thinking? It was another world, there's no way for it to even appear here.
Or at least that's what this hotel made him think, as there was no actual proof to debunk that claim.
The guards looked at Don Quixote flabbergasted.
"Release them at once! Can't you see their faces of suffering?!"
The guard sighed. "Please, state your purpose to visit and your affiliation."
He seemed like he didn't care, perhaps he wasn't paid enough.
Don Quixote seemed to become more upset as time went on.
Then...
I saw as she threw her lance at the thick wall of glass.
"If you are not willing to take action! Then I shall do it myself!"
The guard sighed again. "Code Purple. Code Purple. Violation of Taboo K185 on site."
"Requesting Thrombocyte units. I repeat, requesting Thrombocyte units
"I can't believe this." Said a dismayed Ishmael.
"This is... not ideal." Responded Yi Sang.
"Course it's not, we're gonna fight against units of a damn Nest!" Screamed Heathcliff. He then looked at Don Quixote. "You! What the bloody hell did you think would happen?!"
"I did what heroes would do!" She defended herself. "A kid asking for their father is a cry for help!"
Roland decided to sit this one out. Had it been Gebura, he thought she'd probably try and teach the kid a few tips regarding Fixers.
"Shit... this girl is crazy... but damn is she hot." Whispered Issei as he looked at Don jumping around.
"We're going to watch this group fight against them it seems." Spoke Rias.
"Now that the red hair says it, we have yet to truly try and battle against an opponent aside from that time we got completely destroyed by those three." Mentioned Rodion.
"K Corp. is known for their ampules, so we're probably going to be fighting against them for a while... I-it's because they can heal themselves with them!" Reasoned Sinclair.
"Tsk." Noised Ryoshu with frustration.
Healthcliff sighed as the alarms went off. "Should have smashed her head in and taken her body in a sack.
Ishmael retorted. "Wouldn't have made much of a difference honestly."
Yi Sang closed his eyes. "Mmm... it seems like their names are based after the platelets and blood cells."
"Fitting for K Corp." Faust added. "And for violating a Taboo..."
A loud explosion ensued, we all looked at the place where it happened, only to see Don Quixote dismembered.
"Oh, that's a bit gruesome." Said Rias as she frowned. "Though, all of you looked unbothered by her death."
"That's because our executive manager is able to bring us back to life." Explained Outis.
"Fascinating." Was the only thing Rias said.
"Mmm... it seems they could be similar to a peerage..." She thought
"It means that lethal measures can be applied."
We were now surrounded by K Corp. guards.
Vergilius looked at the bunch of sinners, only to say. "You never cease to disappoint."
"You someone drained me of all expectations I had left."
He looked away as he starts walking. "Blame her, take responsibility, whatever you do, I am staying out of this mess."
Ishmael objected. "But you said you would aid us in case our manager couldn't handle things!"
"I came to take care of the legal side of things, not to see all of you piss around and wreak havoc."
He moved towards the guards, said guards stepped aside as Vergilius then crossed his arms as he watched them.
"(You're really going to stand there and do nothing?)"
"You're not doing shit with that look, manager."
"I'm a guide, not a babysitter to all you troublemakers, it'd be foolish to take out my weapon for each mess you got yourself into."
"Oh, just to make sure you know. K Corp. has the singularity of having healing bullets that restore any wound in the body."
"Might be comparable to your ability."
The guards started rushing at us.
The scene changed.
"Awww, are we not going to see how we come out victorious from this battle?" Said a disappointed Don Quixote.
"There's no shot we get out of that one unscathed!" Screamed Ishmael. "Good grief, I can't believe I'm stuck with idiots."
"Don't throw us all under the bus just because that one numskull decided to fuck us over!" Yelled Heathcliff.
"Else what?!" Refuted Ishmael.
Ryoshu sighed and unsheathed her weapon, she swung towards the two of them, aiming for their necks.
However, the sword didn't damage them.
Ryoshu looked at her blade, and then at the unscathed duo. "This is a D.T.O.E."
"Seems like you can't hurt anyone in this hotel, that's good to know." Commented Roland.
"I think you're all dumb." Bluntly commented Koneko.
"I wouldn't say dumb, but rather uncoordinated." Tried to say Kiba.
"I assume the room is skipping all the needless combat to continue with the story." Assumed Gregor.
"Do you think there's some sort of remote that can let us go watch them? Or what about a recording of the events?" Wondered Hong Lu.
"I don't think a hotel room would have something like that for this sort of thing." Argued Sinclair. "Although... seeing Vergilius look at us that way... I-it scares me."
Heathcliff had finally snapped as his patience dwindled.
"I can't put up with this shit anymore! This ought to be the most pointless fight I've ever gotten myself into! Hey! Can't you all just fucking stop?!"
"I've said before, fighting a Wing is a futile task." Reminded Faust.
"Well, you're right, but I didn't think they'd send us everything at once!" Said Rodion as she hacked at a guard.
"Flesh grows the moment it tears." Was the comment Meursault made. "Combat is fruitless labor."
"..." Ryoshu looked at the mutilated bodies she had created, however, she looked disappointed. "To think... art could be this garbage..."
"(Is there anything we can do in this situation aside from fighting?)"
"The singularity of this corporation allowed the user to heal at unimaginable speeds, furthermore, it can mend any broken parts of the body with no problem. Given the fact that the entire corporation is supplying this simple skirmish, it is impossible for us to defeat them in combat."
Suddenly, the sound of ominous steps could be heard in the distance.
The guard stopped as they looked at the man who had arrived.
"Truly, this chaos seems to continue, how long have you been fighting?" Asked the individual.
The man wore a black coat, it was made out of black feathers, he wore a bird mask that covered his eyes and nose, yet his mouth was out in the open. He had robes that covered his hands, yet the claymore he had could be seen as he held it with one hand in front of his body, like a cane of some sort.
"Aye, who's that bird man slowly walking at us?" Asked Heathcliff.
"ETA in 12 seconds. Manager, your orders?"
"(I don't- I'm not...)"
Vergilius looked at the man who appeared, he was the only one who was not surprised at the arrival of this individual.
In his eyes was a wary look, it felt as if he was on guard.
"This person seems to be strong for even Vergilius to stand on guard." Commented Sinclair.
"Faust has never seen him like this either." She added.
"Wait... isn't that voice..." Kiba said as he looked at Issei, Akeno and Rias did the same.
"Uh? That's supposed to be me?" Asked a confused Issei.
"It can't be, right? He doesn't act like him!" Tried to argue Koneko.
"The same happened in the previous situation." Refuted Roland. "They may not have the same personality or same backstory, but a few of their traits do carry over."
"Is he the same person as the one in this room? Or is it a reflection of what he could become?" Wondered Yi Sang.
"He's got a stylish outfit though all things considered." Commented Rodion
"Vergilius the Red Gaze, have you decided to take in new children?" He asked
"The Black Swan, what are you doing here?" Questioned Vergilius.
"Wait, he's a Color Fixer?!" Said a surprised Don Quixote, she then looked at Issei. "You there! Tis a fateful meeting to encounter a man who could become a Color Fixer in our world!" She said as she grabbed Issei's hands.
Issei couldn't stop himself from looking down at her chest, he didn't expect her to be this developed despite her childlike personality. "L-likewise." He said as he continued to stare.
"It seems like he's got the same color assignment as I." Mentioned Roland. "Yet Black Swan? I wonder what's the meaning behind it..."
"Actually, didn't I fight against Angela that time? She looked like this guy..." He tried to remember. He recognized a few similarities to that time Angela went crazy in the Floor of History.
"Black swans are often known to be catalysts of disaster." Explained Faust. "Faust believes that the Black Swan symbolizes as a warning for any who dare challenge him."
"Or perhaps, it may symbolize the unpredictability of a Fixer's actions."
"I am traveling around the City for no reason at all." He explained. "But it is a coincidence meeting you, perhaps your group of misfits are a sign of the calamity they may end up creating."
"I don't believe you." He said with skepticism.
"Believe what you will." The Black Swan replied.
"I remember you were in District 21 a few days ago."
"I defeated the Distortion, The Engulfing Wave."
"Ah, the Urban Legend? What does a Color Fixer have to do with an Urban Legend?"
"It was Avance."
"Wait... The kid whose mother was obsessed with the Steelswarm? ...Sorry for your loss."
"Avance sought to stop his mother's unhealthy obsession, but he ended up distorting." He then paused a bit. "It took me a while to finally find him, because he was able to move through lakes, the laws really stalled me quite a bit, people thought he was a new Calamity, they called him the Soul-Mending Leviathan Whale."
"Yeah, reports about Fixers admitting to some bad deeds upon encountering it are the only articles I've read about it, they would feel relieved, stop moving and allow it to turn them into mermaids as some sort of salvation or redemption." Vergilius looked at the sinners who seemed to still be fighting. "You had help from the Indigo Elder, didn't you?"
"Of course, it was surprising though, I thought he'd want to hunt it alone."
"Leviathan..." Muttered Rias. "I suppose you don't know anyone by the name of Avance, do you Hyoudou?"
"I do not." He replied. Although, the way his other self was talking, it did make it seem as the death of Avance had impacted him a bit.
"..." Ishmael stayed quiet after listening to the mention of the District. She then further clenched her fists as she heard the story of Avance and his mother.
It felt as if it was so similar to her.
She wondered, did Avance hate his mother for the obsession she had?
She wanted to know more.
"Oooooi, earth to Ishmael." Said Rodion as she waved her hand in front of the red hair.
"Oh, sorry about that, I just went down memory lane." She said as she shook her head.
"It seems like each of us is going through our own pasts." Mentioned Sinclair. It was first him, and now, it seemed to be Ishmael.
"Two Color Fixers working together? Woooaaah I wish I was there to see it in person!" Excitedly, Don said.
"But we have this room to view, perhaps if we go again we might end up in that very scene." Smiled Hong Lu with his own suggestion.
"Those names certainly sound menacing though, I do wonder, why do I feel an itch upon hearing the Steelswarm?" Wondered Gregor.
"Maybe because it's composed of buggy friends like you?" Joked Rodion.
Gregor rolled his eyes, he did, after all, walk himself into that one.
Faust hummed. "It seems my theory might be right, the Black Swan might be an omen for calamities that may happen when arriving."
"... So how did Noellia take Avance's death?" Asked Vergilius.
The Black Swan smiled. "Worrying about a fellow orphan caretaker?"
Vergilius glared.
"Sorry, you know I mean no ill intention with the comment."
"I know, but you're an idiot."
"I know that... She didn't take the news well, in the end she drowned herself, she finally gave up her obsession with the Steelswarm after that." He then looked at the sinners.
"That's... tragic." Yi Sang said.
Ishmael heard the reveal. In the end, they were both different.
Unlike her, it seemed as if their captain actually cared about her crew.
Kiba thought about his time at that place. That so-called place that seemed like an orphanage, but was a hellhole of its own.
He wondered, would he ever be able to finally find peace were he to kill that man?
Hong Lu didn't catch the tense ambience. "Why would Vergilius be so interested in the mother of the boy?"
"We do not care with which people Vergilius may mingle with, we should be taking notes regarding our mistakes while fighting." Outis said as she looked at each Sinner fighting against the K Corp guards.
"Oi you bunch of knuckleheads, the Black Swan said that he was asking for a fellow caretaker, so it must mean that Vergilius previously worked there or had an orphanage of his own." Explained Heathcliff. The sinners looked at him. "What?"
"You just said something smart." Mentioned a surprised Rodion.
"Piss off."
"T-thinking about Vergilius taking care of an orphanage..." Murmured Sinclair. "I-I can't see it..."
Vergilius stayed silent for a moment. "Issei."
"Yes Vergie?"
"Don't ever call me that again in the first place." He said as he actually pulled out his weapon. "But I want you to kick their asses." He said as he pointed the sword at the sinners.
"Oh you motherfu-" Tried to say Heathcliff, only to be interrupted by his other version.
"What are you both mumbling about?! That's not sitting well with me!"
Ryoshu then agreed. "Indeed. What are you conspiring?"
The Black Swan smiled. "Very well Vergilius, I'll teach these kids a lesson. A bit of correction won't hurt." He said as he raised his claymore.
"I don't like how you said that."
"You never do." He joked. "But Vergilius."
Vergilius looked at him.
"People will always leave your side one day."
"So please, don't do this to yourself."
"Don't be like me, I did the same."
"And it was one of the worst mistakes I ever made in my life."
Vergilius looked in silence.
The Black Swan took a few steps forwards. "Now children! How about I show you what happens when you disobey your teachers!"
"Don't treat us as children, we are full grown adu-" Tried to say Outis, only to be immediately cut by Don's excited fangirling.
"UOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH!"
"(Don? Are you alright?)"
"Th-t-tha-th- tha-t-that-TH-T-THA-T-THA-TH-TH-THAT-THAT MAN! IT'S HIM! IT'S REALLY HIM!" Said Don Quixote with pure joy.
"Get this over with in about a minute, and please, make sure not take out the one with the clock." Ordered Vergilius.
"Getting attached to him?" Teased the Black Swan.
"...Say one more word, and I will genuinely join the fight."
"This is certainly an odd dynamic." Mentioned Rias.
"I would agree, I've never seen Vergilius allow so many teases from someone." Commented Faust.
"It's certainly likely that they are former acquaintances, perhaps they worked together for a while." Deducted Ishmael.
"Though, what did he mean by the stuff before? All about advice?" Asked Gregor.
Faust responded. "That is restricted information."
"I must say Hyoudou, you have grown quite mature in that world." Complimented Akeno. This comment made Issei's cheeks turn red.
"T-thank you!" He said while flustered.
Heathcliff was the first one to rush forward. However, the Black Swan moves at high speed towards him as well. He connected a punch, which sent Heathcliff flying.
Ryoshu decided to step in as she unsheathed her odachi. The man in black clashed. Surprised by the sudden lack of force, Ryoshu gritted her teeth as she realized that the Color Fixer wasn't taking her seriously.
Yet, the moment she felt herself frustrated, the Black Swan suddenly put all of his force into one single slash, which completely annihilated the swordswoman.
He then rushed one after another sinner, they never had a chance as he defeated them quickly.
He stabbed Yi Sang's chest, split Sinclair in two halves, slit Ishmael's throat. The list went on.
Until there were no more.
On the sidelines, Vergilius looked with a pleased smile upon watching the carnage.
(...)
"About time someone disciplined them about what happens when they bite more than they can chew."
"The power of a Fixer Color is scary!" Commented Sinclair.
"I can't say anything aside from the fact that all of you deserved it." Smiled Roland.
A few of the sinners groaned. They knew they couldn't do anything against a Color Fixer.
"Was it really though? I don't think we all should pay the price for what Don Quixote did." Argued Gregor.
"(Perhaps the Black Silence wants us to learn about controlling our group?)" Suggested Dante.
"It is a bit ironic coming from you, Black Silence, you were known to have been rash during a certain period of your career." Faust shot back.
Roland opened his mouth for a moment, only to close it. "Your remarks remind me of Angela."
"Hey! Why didn't the scene pause while we were talking?!" Exclaimed Ishmael.
"That is indeed odd." Commented Yi Sang.
"This never happened before, though, perhaps it's because we started talking during an irrelevant section?" Suggested Roland.
"Or maybe it's trying to hide something from us." Assumed Rias.
Issei stood next to Dante, he then looked at the red clock man. "You know, you look cool."
"(Thanks... I guess...)" Thanked Dante.
"I wish I could understand you thought." Smiled the boy awkwardly.
"Aaaand done, exactly one minute." Declared the Black Swan.
"Seems like the show has ended, you may turn back the clock now, Dante."
I then revived the 12 sinners.
It was certainly a view, as each one of them stood quiet.
"So Vergilius, what exactly are you doing in K Corp's Nest?" Inquired the Black Swan.
"Doing some business for Limbus Company, not much about it."
"(Don't they both seem... a bit amicable with one another?)"
"The Black Swan is an individual Vergilius has known for a bit, Dante." Explained Faust. "Though, there is more reason to that."
"(And that may be?)"
"They are both Color Fixers who both know what it's like to have some sort of freedom, they both know that they should not follow the Nests like the Pro-Nest Fixers, but instead, follow what they truly believe in."
Don Quixote then nervously went up to the Black Swan. "F-f-fan I am! Tis a pleasure to meet you, Black Swan! I've collected every single document regarding your exploits! I wish to become a Fixer as yourself!"
The Black Swan smiled, he then patted her head. "Your innocence is rare in the City, never lose it."
He then whispered. "Although you better prepare yourself for what you did here, I don't think Vergilius took kindly to this..."
He then flanked ar Vergilius, whose eyes were red and glaring at the two of them.
"ª" Uttered Don Quixote.
"May I at least have thy autograph of thou?"
"Sure."
"T-T-Then h-here!" She continued to hyperventilate as she took out her own Black Swan pin.
"Slow breath there, Don." Mentioned Gregor.
The announcer then dismissed the Purple Code.
"Seems like you're all in the clear." Said the Black Swan. "Though, I still have time to hang out with you, Vergilius."
Vergilius shook his head. "We'll talk next time we meet, right now I'm busy with some business stuff in the Nest."
"In that case, I will be looking forward to our next meeting." He started walking towards the exit of the Nest. "Oh, before I go."
Vergilius looked at the man dressed in black.
"If you ever go to District 21, you can ask the Indigo Elder for help, just specify that it relates to one of the Five Calamities."
"I know you'll find yourself in that position... somehow."
"And also the fact I know you won't even attempt to get in the way." He chuckled
The scene ended.
Gregor moves his neck around. "Argh, that was quite long."
"Not as long as the one I was in though." Mentioned Roland.
"Well, it was quite interesting seeing a different version of Hyoudou I must say." Said Kiba.
"I like these! It's like seeing a live show like those actors used to act at my house!" Commented Hong Lu. "I look forward for the next one!"
"I don't." Mentioned Outis.
"(I actually find this quite entertaining, although I'm not sure I can really add much to the conversation.)" Expressed Dante.
"I do like them." Switched Outis.
Yi Sang then went to the door to leave since the room was now a simple white room.
It was, in a way, similar to that place Gubo had put him in.
Yet the moment he opened the door, he found himself in front of a kid.
Who oddly looked like a younger version of him.
They both at each other, uttering no words.
"Oiii, Yi Sang, what's the wait for?" Asked Rodion, but the moment she looked over the black haired boy's shoulder, she saw the boy that stared back. "Yi Sang! Is that a relative of yours?"
"Oh! Maybe it's a past version of him!" Suggested Hong Lu as he saw the boy.
"Sunnyyyyyyy!" Called a tanned boy. "Oh! There you are! We've been looking for you everywhere and..."
He then looked at Yi Sang. "Sunny, did you ever have a relative that you didn't mention?"
Sunny shook his head.
"Uuuuhm, hey! How about we go back? Let's go! Hero has been worried about you!"
They both then left.
Yi Sang took a few steps, just to let a few of those inside the room to be able to leave.
He wondered as to who that boy was.
_-_
Roland walked down the corridors until he made it to the hall. He noticed Angela looking at a book. "Yo Angela, sorry for the wait, I ended up inside another one of those rooms."
"It doesn't matter, the silence was a decent companion as I read. You, on the other hand, are disturbing my reading."
Roland smirked. "Still cold, uh?"
He then looked at the reception table, the man who previously stood, Haine, was now sitting.
The entrance door opened as the sound of the bell rang.
And Roland widened his eyes upon seeing who it was.
"My, it's a surprise meeting you here... Roland."
Argalia smiled at his brother in law.
"Argalia..." Murmured Roland. In a way, he was confused, didn't he kill the Blue Reverberation before? Why was he alive?
Then Haine said. "Roland, I know what you're thinking, remember that this place takes people from different times."
Roland calmed a bit with that explanation, however, he decided to leave as to not make a scene.
Angela, who was previously reading her book, had been long gone.
"Wait... don't go." Pleaded Haine as he was now left alone with a den of wolves.
The Ensemble was there.
And the only person watching was Ozpin as he sat in the corner of a table, drinking coffee with Chesed, which Haine didn't notice.
_-_
Kleine was inside his room, writing down on the computer.
After watching the last reaction, he decided to get to work. He opened a notebook inside the computer.
Limbus Company
Gregor: Changed Self
Rodion: Deluded Self
Sinclair: Self Torn Between Halves
Yi Sang: Self Suppressed by Comfort
Ishmael: Hidden Self
Heathcliff: Self Defined by Others
Don Quixote: Idealized Self
Hong Lu: Reborn Self
Ryoshu: Self Perceived by Others
Meursault: Unexpressed Self
Outis: Lack of Self
Faust: Self Sold for Power
Kleine then started writing in another section of the note.
Hotel's Source
Jaune Arc: (Blocked)
Hyodou Issei: (Blocked)
Sunny (Redacted): (Blocked)
(Blocked): (Blocked)
(Blocked): (Blocked)
Kleine started typing, and then, one of the blocked sections revealed itself
Sunny (Redacted): Synthesized Self
(A/N)
That's it for this chapter, as you can see, I've added quite a few bits of traits from my other fic.
Before I continue, I want to say that the last section's content regarding the Limbus Company characters is something I found in a video made by Last Minutes Essays. Whether the selves are correct or not, I do not know. But what matters is that I create my own.
Because yes, Limbus Company characters will be replaced with others, and have their own personal stories. Similar to what's in the Canto, but different enough to be called original.
This one was supposed to be more on the comical side. Though, I'll be honest, I'm unsure as to what to do with the DxD gang, since they are the weakest link due to the fact that my fic's Issei completely left the DxD world for a bit. (There's also the fact that I started writing the fic right after I started forgetting most of DxD)
As you can see, characters such as Vergilius and Charon don't really seem in the picture, for two reasons. I don't believe Vergilius would really go into a reaction, same goes for Charon. Another reason is because I haven't read Leviathan and I do not know what he does there aside from a small synopsis.
As you can see, Sunny was there as a teaser for what's going to happen next, so expect him to be the main character for the next chapter. And you are either going to expect what's coming 100% or you are going to be surprised by what I do.
And the Ensemble is here. Now, there is a bit of stuff I am thinking to do with them, for example, Philip is going to be a character that is going to have certain character arcs, since... it's Philip, like come on.
I'll say this, I am a bit nervous for the next chapter, chances are, I am actually going to split it into multiple parts, so basically it will be Sunny react part 1, react to another character, Sunny react part 2, react to another character, and Sunny react part 3.
I'll see what I'll do later, but that's what I have planned for now.
REALLY IMPORTANT WARNING AND QUESTION.
Yi Sang is going to be OOC as fuck imo, I've got drafts of reactions to the version of Sunny, and I couldn't stop myself from making Yi Sang into a older brother to Sunny.
Please help me, I'm going crazy over this idea.
As for the question. Would it be alright if I skip or try to reduce the amount of combat in the reactions? Not just for the next react but for all reactions
It's mostly for a few reasons such as not being sure how the characters would react as well as me not really liking writing combat scenes.
And that's it, I'll see y'all next update.
