You and Betty were sat up at a booth at Pop's, drinking the milkshakes that you two had ordered. Hers was Vanilla; her usual. You decided on Peanut Butter. It was an impulsive decision. Usually you would have a Vanilla shake like Betty, but the nerves got to you and now you were drinking a peanut butter milkshake. You surprisingly didn't hate it and maybe even order it again.

Betty and you didn't have much to talk about, between you two being both friends and been working on the newsletter together.

❝So uh, how's your mom doing?❞ You asked. It was only thing you could think of to ask. She hadn't really mentioned her mom as of late.

❝She's my mom,❞ Betty rolled her eyes, still smiling. ❝She's scheming about breaking new stories, and cursing out the Blossoms.❞

❝The usual.❞ You chuckled. Betty joined in for a moment. ❝So... did you tell her about us going out?❞

❝I did,❞ Betty said with a bit of her lip.

❝What'd she think of that?❞

❝She was happy it wasn't Archie.❞ Betty chuckled. ❝Or Veronica.❞

It wasn't exactly a secret that #Beronica shared a kiss during their cheerleading audition. You suspected that Betty's Mother thought something of that. Well, to be honest, the whole school had been thinking it too.

You just laughed, sipping away at your milkshake. A comfortable silence fell over you two.

❝I'm glad you went out with me tonight,❞ You boldly admitted into the silence. ❝Truth is, I've been having feelings for you for awhile now.❞

❝Y/n, I feel the same way.❞ Betty held the hand you reached out to her. You both shared a smile.

Eventually, you let out a deep breath, gaining the courage you needed. You stood, moving quickly to slip into Betty's side of the booth. Before you could chicken out, you planted your lips onto Betty's. When you pulled away, the first thing you noticed was her smile. That smile was how you fell for Betty in the first place. You first saw it when you had met. You were smitten at first sight.

Neither you or Betty needed to say anything after the kiss. How you felt was clearly evident over each of your faces.

You were in love.
